  5. What insurance do you have? Cigna only requires 3 months now. Good luck through it all.

    Ww (Weight Watchers)

I have cigna too and its only acceptable in conjunction with monthly supervised visits with a doctor other than your surgeon. So like someone above mentioned it was cheaper to just do the doctors visits. I think I saw you say six months worth of visits......cigna only requires 3 months now. Isn't that awesome! All the best on your journey!

    Paperwork Officially Submitted To Cigna.

Hi I have cigna oa I have last weigh in and nut appt at end of July then I will be ready to submit. Coordinator at surgeons office says my approval process should be relatively simple, due to my bmi, 53. Can't wait to hear APPROVED! Never thought I'd be fighting so hard to have a major surgery. All the best to you guys! Follow me on YT songbirdx4

    African American Sleevers

It's so great to hear about all of your journeys. I'm approaching sleeve hood soon, I hope. I have my psych eval and NUT assessment tomorrow. Not sure what to expect but hey gotta do it. I do have a question, my last weigh in for July, does it have to be 30 days from my weigh in in June? Or, as long as its within the month of July? I'm done after this and will be ready to submit. Hopefully the process won't take long, especially since my bmi is 53 (wow). I'm trying to lose 30 lbs to get under the 300 lb mark before surgery. But my doctor requires at least a 10lb loss before surgery. Did any of you guys do like a month long liquid diet before and lose a significant amount of weight? Did you workout while doing it? Gotta get under 300....

How Do I Post My Pic?

I asked this question with no response either. I just played around and figured it out. I see you added an attachment in your post so I assume you mean your profile pic. I mainly use my phone so.....anywhoo just go to your profile and click on the place your pic should be and the option to add a pic should pop up and you choose from gallery, camera.....etc

    Ladies :)

I'm 66 in. and my goal is between 160-170, I have a large frame and you know sistas (at least I do) like to rock a slight thickness. I can't remember the last time I weighed that much.
  14. I am so consumed by this weight loss surgery, I can't sleep. I had a dream and woke up with this anxious feeling that they are going to shut down camp on these WLS claiming that way too many people are having them done right before I could get mine.....I know, sounds crazy

    Freaking Out......

Thanks for the suggestions I will give them a try. I think I'm going to have to take from all things WLS before my brain go into overload. My husband teased me and says I could actually perform the farm surgery from all the research I've done. I doubt there is anything else I can research about this. My sister had it last year and I call and bug her every time a question pops up and she just cracks up at me cause she can relate.

    Freaking Out......

I have my psych eval and nut. assesmentt Monday 7/16 and I can't wait, although I'm very nervous about my psych, not knowing what to expect. After that I'm ready for submission to Cigna geesh um praying for mid August. Thanks guys for your reassurance.

    Sleeve Vs Gastric Bybass

I am so afraid of gastric bypass! Everyone I KNOW has ballooned back up to their pre surgery sizes, yet still deal with the mal-absorbtion and other issues. One person who hasn't ballooned back up looks ill with sunken in eyes, hair loss and just looks aged. Lastly, one of my neighbors died from sepsis after gb so while I am aware of the risk in them all my cognitive association won't even let me consider gastric bypass.
  21. Yea I'm just deferring a bill but hey....
  22. Wishing you a speedy recovery! Can't wait to be on the losers bench with you! I'm almost ready for submission to ins. My surgeon has a surgeons fee of $500 due the week before surgery. I called admissions at the hospital today to see what I would need and she gave me an estimation. My deductible is $200 my copay is $250 and my out of pocket is $1500. My ins covers 90/10 and they would like you to pay half of your 10% which for me she said would be around $570 with a whopping total of around $870. She said they know that's a lot and if you can't pay you can set up payment arrangements once you receive your EOB. But not being able to pay would not stop your surgery. It's amazing all the in/outs of insurance comps and the charges vs the payouts etc..... It's also funny how so many of us have the same insurance yet it differs so greatly.
