  1. OH MY GOSH THAT'S NOT FUNNY SO WHY AM I LAUGHING SO HARD!!

    :o:lol:

I actually tell it much better than I write it with all the gestures and falling motions. One of my goals when I lose the weight is to do stand up comedy.

(Not to be confused with fall down comedy). :P

Don't worry-- it's was hysterical and taught me why my husband makes such a big deal about "nothing on the stairs!!" I used to put laundry on the side to send up later... no more.

  2. I actually do have a couple lipomas (fatty benign growths) under the skin.

I have one on the side of my arm that you can't really see but now that the fat is coming off that's becoming visible.

I had a benign thyroid nodule that I found years ago after losing weight because it was more visible on my neck.

I think the only benefit to being fat is less damage if you fall down the steps- with all the padding. Had it happen- no problem. :)

Ooh, actually that's a funny story. I was going up the steps and said "Stupid, (actually didn't say that) why don't you put your coffee cup right here in the middle of the steps so on your way down you won't forget it?"

What do you know, I'm coming down the steps, forget about the cup and get my toes stuck in the cup and go sailing down. coffee is all over the walls, steps, me, and I'm pulling my foot out of a cup. :D It really was funny,

..especially since I didn't break any bones because of my fat. :P

  3. Congratulations on your weight loss! That's incredible!

A friend told me she complimented someone on her weight loss and she found out later the woman had cancer. She said that's the last time she'll do that before knowing for sure the story. That's doesn't explain EVERYONE in your life.

Unless some jealous person passed on that you don't want to call attention.... (now that would be terrible). Haha, I think I'm watching too much competition "reality t.v." with that line of thinking.

Anyway, keep on shrinking...and hold your head up high!

  4. I'm watching Yummie Tummie on HSN right now. I remember the days of getting Bali control panties at Macy's.

I tried Spanx years ago but maybe didn't get the right style.

So for our needs, which I'm not sure are the same as most women- any advice?

It's been a long time since I wanted to appear flatter- as I gave up the last few years.

Now that I'm back to work soon I'd like some ideas of what's in the market now.

I'm thinking moderate control-- don't like the ones that make your arms/shoulders hurt by pulling so much every time you have to go to the bathroom.

    Thanks!!

  5. I agree.

I always worked on myself and felt happy around people but at my heaviest wasn't really comfortable. I don't think she feels good at this weight. In the past when she would lose weight (prob. like most of us) she would talk about how good it was for her. So yes she's got a lot of it "together" but I still think she wants to change her weight-- based on her past behavior.

  6. Wow, I am shocked to see that food is the least favorite thing about the surgery. A bit concerning for me. I was hoping that after the surgery food wouldn't be such a huge issue and focus in my life.

But for me it's in a good way. For example, I went to Trader Joe's yesterday and bought lots of things I always loved (the Protein stuff) and dips to use sparingly- meatballs, chicken sausage, humous, wasabi mayo, all types of cheeses, salmon and made tiny platters and was so satisfied with like only 2-3 oz. of what I chose. It's like there's this freedom from hunger but what comes with it is a responsibility to be sure to nourish your body with good stuff. And everything seems so much more delicious and you're full! I literally wanted to cry after my first good egg at how satisfying it was without "needing" all the ecroutremants (sp?) like breads and meat and hashbrowns...

When you get there you'll see how great it can be at the same time as being a chore. Plus I think you get used to it and have a habit of what you eat mostly- eventually.

  7. ETA= Wheetsin probably knows more than me so read what I said- but probably what I said about milk was wrong (about you).

Can you try getting ahold of the Protein shakes without milk- they make them because some people get lactose intolerant for a little after surgery. whey Protein isolate is what the shakes should have- powder or the ones in the bottles (ready to drink- RTD they call them).

Also that neck pain- I had it a few times but only the first couple days. They say a heating pad can help.

Good luck! It gets better. Call your doctor too- esp. if you can't drink too much. You don't want to be dehydrated.

  8. Mine was so bad the surgeon said it was STUCK to my stomach and it was all diseased and inflamed and there was evidence of a recent attack and prior pancreatitis (never knew that).

I got so used to saying after meals "Oh my stomach hurts- must be my gallbladder." LIved that way for so long.

I've been so proactive about health but in some ways (that) so dumb.

Well, actually I also put it off knowing they'd be doing it at same time as WLS...

  9. I just asked this because I was the opposite. I was able at 1 month to eat a whole piece of whole wheat toast with an egg. The answers varied. Mostly people were like you- not able to do the whole thing yet at this point.

Wasn't that the most delicious thing in the world though- after all that time on liquids/purees?!
