  1. Well today I was cleared to hit the gym and I cannot believe how weak I am now. I am embarrassed to even lift weights at the gym because how weak I got.
  2. I took 2 weeks off and I have an active job. And I spent the 2nd week in Las Vegas I did a bunch of walking and it felt great!
  3. I'm 4.5 weeks out and I am skipping the turkey! I bought myself a nice piece of Red Snapper and I will be grilling that! I also plan on a little bit of cauliflower mashed potatoes. I'm sure it will be disappointing seeing my family go to town on all the yummy food, but I have all my NSV's to fill that void!
  4. I threw 1 egg white, turkey sausage crumbles, water and a tiny bit of cheese in my food processor and made an omelet. Just make sure its fluffy. I don't know if the sausage was supposed to be allowed but I ground it down to a fine powder
  5. Trophy Club! The Ritz Carlton of hospitals lol. Amazing staff and huge nice rooms with private bathrooms
  6. Next time I am going to try it without the yolk
  7. I just had my pre op shakes and I bought unflavored powder and added random crystal lights to them. I like chocolate and PB2, I have one of those every morning! But apparently I'm weird and I love shakes! I have been having one a day for the last 3 years though so I am fairly accustomed to them. And yes, brocc cheese is awesome! once I hit puree I added chicken to it!
  8. I'd ask them about their financing plan. They started telling me and I just said no because I was just going to pay it all as needed. I paid my labs and EGD day of and I paid my surgery day of. Every single part of the process you pay day of which helped me out a lot. If I missed anything or you want to know any specifics fire away! I will help you with any questions you have regarding them!
  9. I have a 2k max out of pocket and I paid that upfront. The Dr. offered me 0% interest financing, but I wanted the airline miles from my credit card
  10. Week one I was clear liquid only. I had Isopures from GNC and Propel with a bit of broth each day Week Two I was full liquid and I had SF Popsicle, shakes, more propel, and broccoli cheese Soup strained. I couldn't find any other cream Soups that I liked. Basically I lived on every flavor of propel lol
  11. I just got back from the gym and needed a Protein snack and here is what I came up with! I don't know anything about cooking or spices so im sure you can throw more stuff in (please advise if you think I can make it better!) I like spicy! 2 tbsp hummus dash cumin 1 tbsp spicy brown mustard 1 whole egg I thought it tasted really good and pretty similar to a deviled egg. This will definitely be a regular new food for me! Cal - 130 Carb - 6 Fat - 9 Protein - 8 It even looks right!
  12. Thanks everyone! Gotta love a little flattery! I get so many great compliments at work and it keeps me going because I only see my stores once a month.
  13. Well I made it to one month! The journey has been a very happy one so far. I have struggled with stalls and trying to perfect the diet but all in all I couldn't be happier. Yesterday I went to Nordstrom's and Dillard's and was actually able to shop there! My "comfort jeans" were a 48 and this weekend I was cruzing around in 40's! I couldn't tell you the last time I was able to buy nice clothes! Here is a couple pic's from yesterday and a starter pic. I am down 30lbs since surgery and 70 since I began the journey. Good luck to everybody this Thursday (Thanksgiving)!!!!!!!
  14. I am 3 weeks out, I hit the elliptical everyday. So serious weights until 6 weeks for me.
  15. I'm glad I saw this! I'm also 3 weeks out and made the exact same meal Saturday and Sunday. I turned the turkey sausage into a dust and whipped up a 1 egg omelette with a bit of cheese and salsa. Mine went down fine and I ate the whole thing without issue. I'm glad to find out now this was a no-no because it was one of my new favorite meals
  16. Mine never trust only lasted a week. And I was only able to pass gas 2-3 times a day. So generally I was laying on the couch. If I felt one coming just hit the restroom, it really wasn't that horrible for me, but still nothing to play with!
  17. I like the buffalo chicken recipe on here and egg salad. Yesterday for breakfast I took frozen turkey sausage and blended it so a dust, mixed it with I egg and scrambled it. Then put a bit of salsa on it. 120 cals and like 15g protein
  18. Welcome, Congrats, and Goodluck! It's a great feeling to get the approval! The pre-op diet gets easier around day 3-4!
  19. I'm 3 weeks post op and have come along way in my breathing since surgery. I can max out the incentive spirometer and am fine during the day... BUT I just got back from the gym and am super frustrated. I still can't take those nice deep breaths that I used to and I get real bad pain in my throat when breathing heavy. Is the pain from the hernia removal? It is frustrating when I feel like I could job so much further and my endurance was feeling good, I just couldn't take a deep breath and I couldn't get past the pain in my throat. Anyone have a similar experience, or know when it gets better? I just want to run!! I'm sick of walking!
  20. I used and eye dropper! haha... I just laid on my couch continuously dropping small amounts of Propel in my mouth. Everyday got easier to drink more and more and at 3 weeks out I can now take gulps.
  21. ~ I stalled for a week at 2.5 weeks post op ~ I will back up the never trust a fart! lol I cheated, did I do damage? ~ I'm not sure, but if you can't make it a few weeks without following directions you probably will set yourself up for other slips I'm not getting my Protein is that ok? ~ Learn to love (choke down) shakes/Isopures, it's your energy and fuel I'm not getting my liquids in is that ok? ~ Only if you want a dehydration trip to the ER I know there was sarcastic comments in there but seriously, it is 4 or so weeks of liquids and a couple more of purees then your back to food. Just try your absolute best to do everything your doctor says in the beginning stages, it's for your quickest recovery. I worked really hard at walking and sipping even though I didn't want to! I literally had my mom put my shoes on and start yelling at me while I was out cold sleeping because it had been 2 hrs and we needed to go walk! I told her to do this because I was told the more you walk the better you feel and quicker you recover. I have had an awesome very quick recovery with zero complications and I followed the orders to the letter.
  22. I looked up a few small ones in the Vegas area because I will be there over thanksgiving, but the ones in AZ and NM look awesome!
  23. I'm going to puree cauliflower (mashed potato's) and gravy! and probably going to toss some turkey in. No stuffing (carbs) and no sweets for this guy!
  24. Not gonna lie, I secretly enjoyed it! It will definitely become part of a routine now! It's such a weird feeling to me of actually pampering and caring about yourself as weird as that sounds. But when I was over weight and unhappy all I wanted to do was get through my day and go home and wasn't overly concerned with the little appearance things.
  25. It's me! I have found myself doing all sorts of health&beauty things since I had my surgery. I'm a 26 year old guy that in the last week has gone to the spa for manicure, pedicure, facial, and massage. I bought all sorts of fancy face scrubs. I had a lady friend fix my straggly eye brows. Spent a ton of money on a fancy electric tooth brush and whitening things. And go to the gym every day. What the heck happened to me!?!?!? I guess I'm feeling better and way more confident and decided I need all of this??? I never would have done all this pre op lol! I can't help but to laugh at myself.
