This thing worked great today. I added 1 scoop of unflavored to each compartment and also added a different flavor crystal light to each. Made 3 totally different shakes extremely easily at work today.

My surgery was done at Kaiser and my surgeon told me they wouldn't use one unless I was having trouble urinating after surgery. Needless to say' date=' I was up within an hour of surgery and headed to the bathroom.[/quote']I was in the same situation. No cath but had an hr. deadline to take a leak or one was going in. I got up that minute, took a few laps, then stood in the bathroom with a serious mission!

Puréed foods do that to me too. I just eat slow and make sure to measure portions. I also use a gas-x strip as soon as I'm done with a meal or shake.< /p>

I was wandering around target yesterday trying to find a solution to bringing Protein Powder to work and was failing miserably so I went to get baby utensils and found the formula containers! I remembered reading about it at some point but forgot about it. This thing is awesome! I wish I had a few of these during pre op!

I know I'm jumping the gun since I'm only 16 days post op but I'm super proud of what I have done and I want to share! I have lost 60lbs since the 4th of July and I'm down 20 since surgery!
PS This is my first time loading pics so odds are it won't work

I will still be on puree for Thanksgiving and i figure i usually mix my turkey and mashed potato's & gravy on my plate but this year i am literally going to mix it! I told my parents we were either having an immediate family only Thanksgiving or I wasn't going because I'm not telling everyone I had surgery and they were totally cool with it! They even offered to do it at our vacation home so were not tempted by anyone wanting to come over or have us over to their place. I'm so happy I have a supportive family!

I'm feeling amazing! 10/22 was the big day and everyday since has been amazing! I'm not suffering much from head hunger. No problems or pains. Water is going down easy and the weight/inches are falling off! This is the best thing I could have done for myself! I'm sooooo happy! I feel like a new person. Now if only I could get to the purée stage!!!! Plus the money I'm saving on not eating fast food twice a day is awesome lol

Here's the science behind some weight loss stalls' date=' if you're interested:http://www.justinowi...nd-glycogen-de/
Basically it comes down to this - glycogen is your short term fuel, and first to get depleted in the weight loss battle. Glycogen is usually the source of that AMAZING first week weight loss of 7-10 pounds. Glycogen takes a LOT of Water to store, so when you use up all that quick-access energy, the Water goes with it. Eventually your body goes "We need more glycogen!" and starts rebuilding those stores... with the water it needs. Because your body is now storing up that extra water (which weighs a lot), that can lead to short term weight loss stalls even though you're still using up fat and losing inches!
Well that makes perfect sense! It's crazy a gallon of water weighs like 8 lbs!!!

I don't get hung up on the scale moving because if I follow everything I'm told I know I will be successful! As the say, life ain't a track meet its a marathon!
With that said, don't freak out if your not losing! I have not lost a pound in 5 days and I am 15 days post-op. BUT I'm not at all worried about it because I fit into a jacket yesterday that I couldn't wear last week. Where the inches are going without the pounds dropping is a mystery to me! But I'm super happy because regardless of what the scale says the only thing that matters is I am getting smaller!!!!!!

I have wanted to have a surgery for awhile but wanted to wait until I felt I matured more and left the college lifestyle. I had it done 2 weeks ago and am 26. I think it all depends where you are emotionally and mentally.

From Amazon you can buy small packs of Isopure. I only buy Isopure powders and I have Dutch chocolate, vanilla, banana, and unflavored. I also buy PB2. I LOVE choc Peanut Butter and choc banana shakes! I also bought SF syrups. In the am I make a cup of coffee and stir in vanilla powder and Carmel Syrup.< /p>

Does anyone have issues with gum? I got sugar free and followed all the rules, but it makes my stomach feel weird and gassy. But I need a way to combat ketosis/protein shake breath at work. I also bought a big pack of Whisps to give a try. Any suggestions or tips???

You do 4-5 miles per day at only two weeks post-op!? Wow' date=' did you work out a lot before surgery? I thought I was doing ok doing 1 mile a day at two weeks post op...[/quote']
I was active and worked out hard after my first consult before surgery. I hit the gym 4-5 days a week and did HIT training on the treadmill. I also lifted weights. I'd spend around 90 min in the gym each time I went. And in the hospital I was walking 15-20 min every 2 hrs the nurses said I was able to get moving quicker then others.

It's actually encouraging to hear someone elses doc is as strict as mine... After two weeks pre op of shakes and broth, I have been STILL on shakes and broth since surgery on 10/22... Today, I get to add egg drop Soup, but still no actual food. NEXT Monday, I get to start soft..... It IS hard tho to keep reading about all the folks who get to have scrambled egg and tuna on Week 2! I have not had actual food since Oct 7! Even w out surgery, I would have lost weight!
Sounds like were on the exact same plan! I was sleeved 10/22 also! I have 2 weeks of puree only starting next Monday, then soft food only until 3 months.

I had a 2 week pre-op diet and I cheated a bit day 1 and 2 because I needed to work myself into the diet. Then the most I cheated the 12 following days was I would have 1.5 cups of broth instead on 1.
Now, if I can give one piece of advice it would be learn to love the shakes. Try all sorts of experiments for fun new flavors because you will need them! I am 2 weeks post op and still have another week of liquids. That will make 5 weeks of nothing but Water, broth, and shakes. It does get way easier the further you get into the pre-op and even easier when your not hungry post-op, but if you don't learn to love them and stick to them the post-op will be miserable when you CANNOT cheat.

First and foremost, I'm going back to work 14 days post-op COMPLETELY pain/soreness free!
Second, when I was getting dressed this morning I put on a shirt that I haven't been able to wear in 2 years, my pants feel like MC Hammers parachute pants, and my belt that had several notches left 2 weeks ago doesn't fit anymore!
I LOVE THIS SURGERY!!!!!! (Now if only I could figure out how to stay this energized all day lol)

How long after surgery was it until you went to purée? I have a 3 week post op liquid diet. I am 13 days out and would really like to add just Greek yogurt into my diet. I need a new source of Protein, the shakes are starting to make me sick after 4 straight weeks of them.

I'm in puree and I still have 2-3 shakes per day. I do my best to get as much Protein in as possible with food but I agree, there's no way to get 60g from just puree. But my nut says to have a few shakes per day.
