  1. I had a 2 week pre-op diet and I cheated a bit day 1 and 2 because I needed to work myself into the diet. Then the most I cheated the 12 following days was I would have 1.5 cups of broth instead on 1. Now, if I can give one piece of advice it would be learn to love the shakes. Try all sorts of experiments for fun new flavors because you will need them! I am 2 weeks post op and still have another week of liquids. That will make 5 weeks of nothing but Water, broth, and shakes. It does get way easier the further you get into the pre-op and even easier when your not hungry post-op, but if you don't learn to love them and stick to them the post-op will be miserable when you CANNOT cheat.

    When Were You On Puree?

I'm sure, it's shakes and strained soup only for another week. My book says I can have yogurt starting with puree. Its only 1 more week, but 5 weeks of broth and shakes is so boring! I don't feel hunger so its not a big deal, I just want new tastes.
  3. You Know You've Been On liquid Protein Too Long, When: You add your favorite protein powders, PB2, and a fresh Blender Bottle to the monthly auto-ship list on Amazon!
  4. All I want is some refried beans!!!! Darn you 3 week post op liquid diet!

    When Were You On Puree?

LOL that made my afternoon! It just drives me nuts seeing everyone in puree after 2 weeks while I get the honor of choking down Protein shakes and broccoli cheese Soup for another week! I won't cheat, just like to flirt with the idea!
  6. I was sleeved the 22nd and I can drink a lot faster also. Last night I drank a 12oz shake in an hr. I can take gulps with no issues. The doc said it was fine but don't push it if I feel pain

    Sooo Sick Of Protein Shakes!

I'm in the same boat with y'all! At 2 weeks post op I have been on shakes and broth for a month. Reading how people can start purée at 3 weeks out bums me out cuz I can't start them till week 4. I was thinking about getting some Greek yogurt and trying a small bit early. I won't go as far as puréed meals until my doc says ok tho.
  8. I was terrified before surgery! The night before I made peace with it. I put together my file with my POA's ect. And told myself I need to do this for the sake of my life! When I got to the hospital I just tried to be my normal joking self with everybody which really lightened the mood then the nurse asked if I was ready, I said Yeppers! Then all the sudden I woke up in recovery lol. I am 11 days post-op and feel amazing! They said walk as much as possible, so I did. They say drink 64oz and I set a timer and made sure I got it all in. I spent the last 4 days in Vegas and walked about 6mi a day! I am a huge believer in the walk/sip as often as you can! I am exhausted by 9pm but other than that I feel like I never had surgery!

    Body Media...

I also have a fitbit and love it! I'm only 2 weeks post-op so I have a goal of 4-5 mi per day. It's nice to be able to see at then end of the day how long I need my evening walk be to hit my goal.

  11. Well, got back from the 1 week follow-up today and everything is perfect! Down 15lbs from surgery and 55 since 4th of July!!! No pain, no nausea, getting 40-50g of Protein, and having no issues with liquids! My labs said everything is fine but i'm a little low on Vit D so I just stopped and grabbed some gummies. To Celebrate i'm going for a nice jog! Then off to Vegas tonight! Huge thanks to everyone on here and especially Dr. Kim and all his staff at Trophy Club!!!!

    One Week Post Op!

Ya, but i chew them till they are almost gone
  13. I asked, they said I can't do any damage to the site and it's based on my pain leftover from surgery. Which mine is basically gone. I redid day 1 of the couch-to-5k program. Mostly walking and then a lite jog to keep the heart rate up.
  14. Posting lol, today I went jogging!
  15. I'm very similar to you! I'm one week out and my shakes go down fine, but when I had broccoli cheese soup it was rumbley. I had 1/2 cup and a gas x strip lol
  16. I'm one week post op and i'm already starting my plastics savings fund! I pray that I wont need to do it and will take every preventive measure I can, but might as well be prepared if necessary is my thought.
  17. What everyone said was spot on for me as well! And I can't stress it enough to walk as much/often as you can! Good luck to y'all!
  18. I was sleeved Monday did close errands Wednesday (I drove) and took my mom to the airport Thursday (2hr round trip) I didn't take pain killers at home.

    Post Op Diet- Clear Liquids

Mine was written similar to that, I waited until today (6 days out) to try full liquids. My protein shake went fine, but the cream of chicken soup is causing some serious rumbles!
  20. It took me just over a week to hear back (Aetna) And I feel fantastic! Pain was never over a 2 and im drinking a bunch, walking, and now the only soreness I have is a tiny bit of soreness when I stand up or lay weird.
  21. Welcome fellow Texan and Dr. Kim patient! I got my sleeve Monday, what an amazing experience pre & post op!
  22. I had surgery on Monday and had my struggles with liquids bit I make sure I ALWAYS have water in my hand and I constantly sip sip sip. Today in 12hrs I have down 108oz and 40g of protein from Isopure (glass bottle) Propel and broth. Am I doing damage by having way more liquids then "goal"? I still have very dark urine so im trying to stay hydrated but my liquid quantity vs what others are saying is freaking me out a bit. I dont want to cause damage but I dont want to get dehydrated
  23. I found the red one to be good! The blue one I plug me nose when I sip lol
  24. You will be great bud! And everyone on here is amazing! I have found no matter how off the wall your questions/comments/concerns are you have a huge family here that will support you!!! Dig through progress pics on here and keep asking questions, that's what I did and I'm safely and happily on the other side of this surgery!
  25. Glad to hear everyone is doing so well from the October peeps! I am soooo bored sitting at home recovering thank god for a parking wars marathon
