Awww. Thanks! I'm freaking out on the inside for sure. I hope they give me meds to calm down when I get there at 5:30 AM. Surgery is at 7am. I can't believe I'm doing this. I'm starting to smile a little to think that this is a new beginning to who I really want to be! I pray I can do it!

I've know people who lose their appetite for a couple weeks, some have an appetite the day after surgery. There's definitely no "norm" for it.
I think I started to get mine back about a week after surgery.

I am being banded on the 10th. Doing good on the pre-op diet, but getting nervous on the surgery.

Be positive and follow any and all doctor directions pre-op. Makes band day easy. Mine was easy. Very little discomfort except hernia repair. Banded 8 hours ago.

Was banded today (out patient) and not much discomfort. Left shoulder ache using heating pad helps 100%. A hiatal hernia was aslo fixed and more discomfort in the area. Taking liquid pain meds for hernia. Prior to hospital release I walked many minutes with a nurse.
My doctor didnt want me to use ice chnips for 24 hours. I see him on followup in 2 weeks.

Just drank my last Protein Shake pre surgery!!! Clear Liquids only tomorrow and surgery 7:30 am Wednesday!! Nervous and Excited!

I have heard of patients who left the hospital with no band because once their surgeon got in there, the liver was too fatty and enlarged to safely operate around.
However, the only time I've heard of this happening is if the person has a pre-existing condition that effects their liver or they completely disregarded the pre-op diet. I've never known anyone who followed their surgeon's pre-op diet (and no liver conditions) that wasn't banded because of their liver.
If you follow your doctors orders, you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

My date is 8/27!!!! I'm nervous! I'm almost more so about the pre- op diet. I need the strength and will power.
I'm 32 and almost 2 years ago my husband passed away suddenly. Since then I have given up on me and life. I now hoping to learn to live again. I'm scared of complications and such but it's time. I know this surgery can't bring my husband back but it has the possibility of bringing me back. I owe that to him and my family and most important myself. 3 more weeks until my new birthday:)

Well finally feel well enough to be on the support group today. Surgery was yesterday, went well and he also fixed my hiatal hernia. Lots of pain and nausea yesterday and much more manageable to day. Trying to stay on top of my pain medications. Struggling to get my 6 small meals in a day. On full liquids for a week. Is this normal not to get all your meals in?? Trying to stay hydrated. Thanks for the support and any tips post op is greatly appreciated !!

WOW...Actually Im slightly teary.(REALLY) I married my best friend.
We have been together since 94. We did start under rather stressed circumstances. I was 18 and he was 23, we moved in together 6 months after I got out of HS. So we have had our challenges. When I met him I weighed 185, and over ten years gained 145 pounds. Wow! He can eat any thing he wants with no repercussion. *#@#%$%
He is commited to our new healthy life. But if he gets uncomfortable I will definatly have him take you up on that offer.
Your commitment to your wife, is inspiring. I feel the same and I believe I always will.

I have friends who tease my husband about other guys wanting me now that I "look so good." They mean it all in fun. I make sure my husband knows how much I love him. He is the one who has loved me through "thick and thin." It doesn't take much to reassure someone that you love him, especially if it is true.
