  1. Hi, I'm getting discouraged. I had my 1st fill on June 6 and have only lost 2 pounds since then. The nurse told me that I will not start feeling the band until I get up to 6 to 7 ml. I'm at 5 now. It is getting hard for me to measure my food to insure I do not overeat and stretch out my pouch. I do not do well when I'm hungry. I did lose 14 lbs. on the 2 week pre surgery diet. Is this normal? When does the regular 2-3 lbs a week loss start? Thanks for any advice.

  3. hello all, I had my surgery on May 3rd. I feel wonderful! I have had no nausea or cramping. During the 2 week pre-surgery diet and the one week liquid diet after surgery, I lost 14 pounds. My surgeon is Dr. Sanchez here in New Mexico. I was lucky, the hospital where I had it done was only 6 miles from where I live. And my insurance paid for it! I had a $500 co-pay for the out patient surgery but that was it. The only problem I am having is I burp constantly. I tried drinking through a straw and it doesn't seem to help. Somehow I am swallowing air.
  4. hello, I am not having your problem, but I did want to let you know I read your post and hope your doc can figure it out. I was on Prilosec for 13 years and luckily have had no problems since my surgery - 13 days ago. I also had a hernia repair. My main problem right now is I get a lot of gas. I burp constantly and also the other end,. It's very embarrasing. Did you have a problem with gas after your surgery? If so, how did you get it to stop?
