Struggling After Gallbladder Removal :(
Just wondering if anybody else is in my shoes... I had my gallbladder out 2 months ago. I had two emergency surgeries back-to-back (one to remove gallbladder & another to place stent). Ever since then, my guts have been WACKO! Sorry for TMI, but I have the runs on average of 3 times a week. Another thing is when I do get the urge "to go", the pains feels different then before... Like, I feel like I am going to have the runs every single time, but its not that everytime (if this makes any sense?). Anybody else? Does it get better? I know the dr said some people can be sensitive to fatty foods after losing their gallbladder, but this doesn't seem to correlate to my diet.

Beliteweight And Dr Rodriguez
I went through belite & dr. Rod in July 2008 (Juarez), he did my lap-band. He was a great doc & my care, like the previous poster, was 5-star . Also my coordinator was Jessica. I just had my band-to-sleeve revision in June this year with dr.ponce & trish was my coordinator:) an I'm doing GREAT!

Gall Bladder Symptoms
I hate to say it, but I don't think you are ever "out of the woods" from gallbladder issues. I had emergency gallbladder-removal/ ECRP (stent surgery) a couple months ago (2.5 months post-sleeve), and at my follow-up my doctor said I STILL have a 10% of getting a stone for the rest of my life -- however I think he said I have a slightly higher chance because they had to cut my bile-duct open to remove a stone...

Plus, i have had to have a cat scan and upper endoscopy done since being home (not related to my VSG), and my sleeve looks great from the inside & out! I also am a full-time wife, mother, employee, and student-- you can do this! Good luck!

- New Here ... Dr Ponce
Hi there! Dr ponce did my surgery on June 15 & trish was my coordinator! My surgery went great! I also have little ones at home. When I came home from surgery I had an 8-month-old & a almost-two-year-old.... Even with my husband home--it was rough!! I was hobbling around on the floor on in my knees to try and avoid picking up my kids. Even going out of my way to not lift my children, I still ended up picking them up sometimes, and it hurt (I may have had more pain than a typical patient, but only because my surgery was revision from lap-band--so excess scar tissue). I guess what I'm trying to say here is, if you can get ANY extra help when you return, do it! But if you can't, you should be ok!- Calling All Patients Of Dr's Ponce, Lopez, Kelly, Garcia And Ortiz...

- Dr Ponce Deleon?
Hi there! Dr ponce did my surgery on June 15 and my coordinator was trish! I have nothing but great things to say about them both! Dr ponce's pre-op diet is one of the easiest out there, simply nothing but yogurt (any kind) & water for the three days before surgery! Good luck! I have lost 40 lbs already!- Gallbladder :-(
sid_n_reagans_mommy replied to sid_n_reagans_mommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&AYes I think that's what they keep referring to. Also, ironically they left a JP drain in yesterday-- I didn't think I would be seeing one of these again so soon...- Gallbladder :-(
sid_n_reagans_mommy replied to sid_n_reagans_mommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&AI actually had an attack about 10 months ago but it didn't last as long and I didn't realize what it was (suspected gallbladder, but didn't know, plus I was 8 months pregnant at the time). I also had an attack at te beginning of this year, about the same as the first one, but brushed it off afterwards. I had my sleeve done in Mexico, so no "my doctor didn't tell me that". I do believe I was already having issues with my gallbladder and my new weightloss exacerbated the problem. Long story short, I've been in the hospital since Sunday evening. Had my gallbladder out yesterday and I was literally just transported by ambulance to another hospital because I have stones stuck in my ducts and the hospital I was at didn't have the equipment to remove them. So, today I get surgery number two in a row. I'm in so much pain & I'm homesick. Im so over this.- Gallbladder :-(

I'm an industrial maintenance technician and my doc took me off work for one month plus 8 weeks of no lifting more than 10 lbs. good luck!- Gallbladder :-(
So I had a gallstone early yesterday morning. I had an "attack" like that a couple of times previous to having my sleeve (actual once during last pregnancy), but I didn't know what they were and they werent as bad as yesterday's attack. Yesterday I was in SO MUCH PAIN!! I went to the ER, they gave me dilaudid (sp?) and did an ultrasound and sure enough my gallbladder is full of stones!! :-( they have referred me to a surgeon and said I need to have it taken out. I'm so not ready for yet another surgery! Also I'm supposed to be eating low fat to help prevent stones from moving until I get it out. Since surgery I have been more worried about protein content and calories, not necessarily fat content. Does anybody have suggestions for me? Will my diet have to be any different after I have my gallbladder removed? What's the recovery like? (I was off for a month with lap-band and then a month with my sleeve because I'm an industrial maintenance technician, a very strenuous job). I feel like crying some more...ugh.- September 14Th At Int With Dr. Ponce
Excited for you!! I had my surgery with dr ponce in June 15 and trish was my coordinator! She is GREAT! we just skyped the other day, she is a total sweetheart! You WON'T be disappointed . I am down 36 lbs since surgery (surgery weight 217 lbs, now 181 lbs). Good Luck!- Dr Ponce De Leon And Coordinator Laurie $4600?
- Measuring Portions
sid_n_reagans_mommy replied to sid_n_reagans_mommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&AOk, which is better weighing or measuring with a cup? We are supposed to eat 4-6 oz in volume correct? Isn't weighing food going give different volumes? Sorry I'm still learning here! thank you all for the input! Oh and I was just going to add that I'm scared not measure my food, because if there is more than I am supposed to eat in front of me, I will eat beyond being "satisfied". Probably a big part of the reason I got as big as I did!- Protein Shakes...

sid_n_reagans_mommy replied to sid_n_reagans_mommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&AI did not like the muscle milk at all! :-( it was too thick and had a terrible after-taste. I guess the Syntrax is probably my next choice to try. Thanks!- Measuring Portions
I am 6 weeks out from revising band-to-sleeve. I literally measure all of my food with a 1/2 C measuring cup. In the beginning after I got my band I "eye-balled" correct portion sizes and I slowly got away from that eventually ended up over-eating again. I'm so scared of not measuring my portions. Does everybody here measure out their food? Did you only in the beginning? And if you stopped, did you regain or stop losing? It's such a pain to have to actually measure out food! - New Here ...
