Best high protuen foods to eat
So I just started full liquids today. I tried some plain Greek yogurt dressed up with some Splenda, vanilla extract and cinnamon. It was quite tasty! (at least I think so) I haven't been okayed to start protein drinks yet so it was nice to have something with some protein in it.

I hurt my husband's feelings
No you aren't evil! I'm scheduled to be sleeved on Monday and since starting my two week pre-op diet my husband and our son have eaten Sonic, Taco Bell, Wendy's and McDonalds in front of me. it is hard for me to watch and smell but for every time I can stick to my diet then that is a battle won for me. Sometimes I need some help. The other night my husband left his cheese tots sitting in front of me. He hadn't finished them all and wasn't even thinking about leaving them for me to look at, to crave. When I asked him if he was finished with them and he said yes, I asked him if we could throw them away then because they were really tempting me and I was trying to not give in. He apologized and said that he wasn't even thinking about it. The next morning, he made Breakfast for our son who decided that he did not like what his daddy fixed. Instead of leaving it on the table for me to look at he took it in the kitchen until our son decided he was hungry enough to eat it. I asked him why he took it away, thinking that if it were there our son may have been more likely to eat, he told me that he didn't want to leave it sitting in front of me to tempt me. My point is that my husband hadn't even thought about it. He didn't get mad like yours did but that is something he would do. I'm guessing that your husband isn't mad at you, he's mad at himself for not thinking more of you. He may be mad because you said it was okay and he should have known that it really wasn't but men cant read our minds! lol! I'll bet he will get over this. He has to get used to your new lifestyle just like you do. I know that I'll be facing the same battle with my family. My husband knows not to offer but my sweet son likes to share with his mommy and it is super tough to turn him down. I hope your mouth gets better! and I hope your husband gets over it soon too!

I cheated by drinking chicken broth.... who knew?
BlessedBeyondMeasure2012 replied to BlessedBeyondMeasure2012's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&AI am on the pre-op diet that is called Nutrimed. I'm not sure if it is particular as far as what can go with it or not and I'm not sure what the exact reasoning is behind it but oh well. I appreciate all of the encouragement! I think I am most frustrated with myself that I cheated, even if I didn't mean to. I have cooked for my husband and our son, I've made a chocolate shake for my husband, I've picked up Wendy's and Sonic for them as well as watched them eat Taco Bell and McDonalds since starting my pre-op diet (my husband is not overweight and is waiting til after my surgery to "do better" lol). I haven't so much as licked a finger or tasted anything I was cooking. Do you know how hard it is to cook without tasting to know if it is seasoned right or not?? My sweet son offered me his burned french fries and call me crazy but those are my favorite! I haven't come close to cheating on anything good but then CHICKEN BROTH! If I was going to cheat I could have done it with something that tasted way better! ha ha ha! I'm determined that I'm not going to slip up and I guess if I had to accidentally cheat it was best to do it with chicken broth and not something that could have possibly actually been bad. I'm going to keep sticking with it, as tough as it may be. This is for my life, my husband, my kids and our future, if I can't stick with a two week pre-op diet then what in the heck am I preparing to go through a permanent procedure to change the rest of my life for? I'm in it for the long haul.

I cheated by drinking chicken broth.... who knew?
So I've been doing my pre-op diet for the past week. This weekend I really wanted something savory aside from my evening "meal" of soup. I'm doing the Nutrimed plan for my pre-op diet and I figured that since I can have chicken broth after surgery that surely it was okay to have now. I had some the past two days and called the NUT today to check, she says no. I haven't had anything that I wasn't supposed to and haven't even gotten in all of my packets of stuff per day in each day. I've been hungry, even felt like I was starving at times but haven't given in. I was working hard on not cheating on this diet at all and now I feel so disappointed. Just hoping that I didn't mess anything up ha ha! Back to the strict, no chicken broth, diet...

Louisiana Sleevers?
I'm so glad you asked this! I'm up in Shreveport and scheduled to have surgery next Monday. I've almost been mourning not being able to eat crawfish again this season and now I see that I may get to eat them again this year after all!! I'll take only eating a few just as long as I get to eat them again Good luck in your recovery! I can't wait to be there with you!

Any March 25 Sleevies?
My pre-op testing is done. I did all of it this past Wednesday. I had an EGD bright and early then went for my physical exam, chest x-ray, EKG and labs. I'm not sure what the swallow test is either. I started my pre-op diet last Tuesday. My surgeon requires an EGD any time he does a sleeve too. My husband said the whole thing couldn't have taken more than 15 minutes. I don't remember a thing, ha ha ha!

Any March 25 Sleevies?
I'm there with you! March 25 is right around the corner and I'm so excited! I am nervous about it but I think that is normal. I'm getting through this preop diet as well as I can. No cheating but man it has been tough. I'm glad to be finding some people that are having surgery the same day I am. We need to keep up with each other!
