  1. I had surgery june 2012, I have a 14ml with 7.25 in. If I eat too fast I can feel restriction and usually end up bringing it back up. If I take my time I can eat too much (I think) so far my weight loss is 5lbs in total... I'm just glad I didn't tell a whole bunch of people because I feel a failure. I haven't got my head round this, I wish I also got councelling because the 'crap' food goes down no problem... any advice anyone???

  2. Hi all, I had my band fitted back in June this year... the weight is coming off all be it very very slowly. I've had 3 fills and now have 7.25 in a 14ml.

My last fill was 4 weeks ago and I really felt it was working but maybe not quite in the green zone as yet. But this last week I can't keep anything other than liquids and soft foods down.

Anyone else encountered this? I'm waiting for a call back from my docs but thought I'd just ask on here first :)

  4. Been for my 2nd fill today and I have blood in my band due to the last nurse (not my normal one) hitting a blood vessel during my last fill.

She wasn't too worried about this and said she will change the Fluid at my next fill.

Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem and how did the changing of Fluid go???

  5. I am the same... banded 3rd June 12 I lost 16lbs but that was in the first 3 weeks then nothing... all i keep thinking is stay positive until restriction, although thereupon I had the band was because of not being able to say no, well I still can't say no so neeeed that restriction!

Keep us posted, keep positive and listen to fellow experienced bandsters... that's what I'm doing... good luck!!! :)

  6. Thank you everyone for the tips and advice. X

I will try lowering my cals and carbs... I think you may have hit the nail on the head with that one, looking back at mfp I am eating lots of carbs.

I think the advice I have been given from my dietician is sketchy, no calorie goal was given just stay off certain foods altogether and eat from a side plate instead of a dinner plate...

  7. Had surgery 3rd June this year... I lost 17lbs in the first 5 weeks and that's been it. ,He scales haven't moved either easy for 7 weeks now. I'm on mfp having 1200 of there about cals every day. Go lane swimming 2/3 times a wk. I have had one fill (4.5 .ml in a 14.ml band). I feel hungry all the time and I'm disappointed in myself.

Anyone got any tips what I'm doing wrong??? Any advice would be greatly appreciated Xx

  8. Hi all, I was banded on 3rd June 12, i am now a week into my mushies...poached eggs...fish...mashed potato ect. For the last 2 days I have had a strange feeling when i stand up and walk around, It's asthough I can feel the band inside me and also feel bloated and a bit of pain if I try to pull my stomach in.

I wondered if anyone else has experienced this and if its common???

I'm a little scared that I may have eaten too much, although I use a tea plate for meals. Or is it something that may be 'stuck'.

Any advice would be helpful :) x

  9. Hi, I am now 7 days post-op and feeling 98% I would say. Just having a little problem with one wound not healing but a trip to the nurse on Thursday should sort that.

I have the 14ml band with no fill at the moment. I was wondering if I will feel any restriction (when I start eating mushies next week) or will I have to wait for my first fill? That is around another 5 weeks away and I'm worrying a little that I would see the results I expected???

  10. Hi, i'm now 6 days post-op and feeling great but... over the last couple of days I have started getting pins and needles in my left thigh. I can be sat, laid on my back or front and my leg goes numb.

Is anyone else suffering with this or know what it could be?

Also my port wound is still bleeding very so slightly 6 days on, I spoke to the nurse 4 days PO and she said that it was pretty common (I was glued) but I thought it would have stopped by now. ( I am planning on ringing the nurse again but thought i'd ask on here first).
