Melted plastic is exactly what it reminds me of! I'm going for the low Fat to snack and regular to melt...I only consume a very small amount melted so the taste would help -

I Can't Do This I Need Support
Izzy0525 replied to anais02's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Smilen, I also suffer (or should I say suffered ) from Type 2 diabetes. It def sounds like low sugar to me. Speak to your DR, mine required a 5 day very low calorie diet early on in the process where they force the body to go into ketosis. All I was allowed was 9oz (3 morning 3 lunch and 3 dinner) of lean meat and two cups of chicken broth per day. At the end of the 5th day they measure your ketone levels to see if you follow instructions and confirm you can control yourself prior to surgery approval. I barely made it to the 5th day and I had a long talk with my DR. She immediately understood and for my 2 week pre op diet gave me a much more inclusive low fat low calorie but Protein rich menu. Diabetes isn't something they take lightly, they will make adjustments. On the bright side, hang in there, I am 10 days post op and completely off my medicine since surgery date. My sugar levels have been steady in the 80s good luck! -

Sleeved 5/25/12- Weak Moment, Cheated A Bit :(
Izzy0525 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello all, my name is Isabel but people call me Izzy. I was sleeved on 5/25 and for the first week I followed every set of instructions given to me, unfortunately two days ago I had a bit of a breakdown while cooking dinner for my family and I had a small piece of meat (really small) and a bit of cottage cheese. Terrible I know, I got sick to my stomach and learned a pretty valuable lesson. But since then I've been terrified I've caused damage to my sleeve. I've developed the worst kind of acid reflux to the point that I can't sleep well at night (didn't have that problem prior to cheating) and for the last two days I've gotten headaches. Has anyone out there cheated during the first two weeks of being sleeved? -

Thanks for your response, I've moved on from it. Most people who turn to this surgery have had lots of experience with falling off the wagon when it comes to diet routines. But at the same time, we become pros at trying again....I am determined to reach a healthy weight. I wholeheartedly believe this was the best decision I've ever made for myself. -

Hello there, I was just sleeved on 5/25 I found the pain to be very minimal, still a bit sore on my stomach area but I was off pain killers after four days and back to work in a week. Just make sure you arm yourself with some good anti.acid medicine...BURRRRRRRNNNNNING like I've never felt before. -

I Think I Am Going Crazy
Izzy0525 replied to tkslexus's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeved 5/25 and live alone as well. First week wasn't bad, my mother flew in to stay with me. Once she left and I had all this free time alone I started watching my favorite channels (Food Network & Cooking channel). I love to cook and I'm obsessed with watching those darn shows. Well suffice to say they started awakening the little chubby girl in me and even though I didn't feel physically hungry I began to have mental hunger with emotional cravings. I ended up cheating on day 10 had a little piece of steak and some cottage cheese...felt like I was dying. Learned my lesson, never aging, follow the diet I know now why it is there. I've found ways to keep myself occupied and away from the cooking shows. -

Sleeved May 25th and down 11lbs. A but slow but I was 205 when I went in for surgery. Being in Onederland after so many years feels wonderful. Not taking diabetes medication and eliminating my sleep apnea feels even better!
