Afraid I Have Had A Band Slip

Hey guys! I actually went to the doctor and I got great news. The crazy thing is, my band was tightening itself. The nurse thinks it is due to stress, but she said that it was amazing that losing all the weight I lose and the band tightens itself. It is not easy and I have been back to the doctor twice. It is like the more weight I lose, the more the band tightens. It is very weird, but if that is the price I pay for losing weight, I am glad to pay it. Thanks so much for asking

Will My Doctor Refer Me For Lap-Band?

I had a bit of the same problem. My insurance would only cover it if it was medically necessary. At first they denied me, but after an appeal they excepted me. I was 24 and I was a diabetic weighing in at 474. I had shortness of breath and I stayed fatigued all of the time. I do not see why they wouldnt consider you. Good luck. Wanda

Afraid I Have Had A Band Slip

Well thank you so much. Got ahold of the doctor this morning and I have an appointment for tom. so hopefully everything will be okay. I also wish you the best of luck Wanda
  9. I hope you get everything worked out. If it wasn't for me still being on my parent's insurance I wouldn't have even gotten the surgery. They paid 90% I believe it was and I was left with a small 3000.00 out of pocket. I really hope that it was a mistake, that letter, and that you get everything worked out because a bill should be the last thing that you have to worry about.
  10. Back in Jan., I woke up one day and I was sick as a dog. I was dizzy and had lost part of my hearing. ( This isnt due to the band or atleast don't think so. I had to rush to the doctor and they sent me straight to the ER to have a cat scan done because they thought I was having a stroke. When the scan turned up all clear, they sent me to have a MRI done and again it turned out clear. They couldn't figure out why in the world I was so sick or had lost hearing in my left ear, so they kept probing at me and put me on all kinds of medication. So this is how it started... I was on all this medication and I started vomiting alot and when I mean alot... after everything I eat. I just thought it was because of the medication so I didn't panic. A few weeks later, I went to my band doctor and got an adjustment and everything felt fine. The vomiting slowed down and when I did vomit I thought it was because I was over eating. Fast forward to late March... got sick again, this time it was allergies and the doctor put me on all kinds of medications yet again because the mucus in my lungs was really heavy and it was awful. I noticed that the medication that the doctor had me on made me hurt in my stomach so I took myself off of it. Again, the vomiting continued after every meal, but I thought it was because of the medication. Well, fast forward to late april. I got sick again with the mucus, it was hard to do anything because it was so thick so I went to the doctor again and got on some medication and I asked for it to not be what I was prescribed back in march because it upset my stomach so bad. Well, again the vomiting got worse. The vomiting is so bad that I have to run for the trash can when I am at work because I can't hold it to go to the bathroom. Now, it only happens after I eat. At first, I thought it was all the medication I was on, but I am not taking the medicaiton now and the vomiting is getting worse. Looking back on it now, I realize that I should have called my band doctor back in march. I have severe constipation and I have been reading alot of online articles that say that constipation and vomiting are a sure sign. It terrifies me because I didn't want to tell my doctor I was vomiting back in March because I was afraid I was going to have to have the band removed and I am a year into this and lost 160 - 170 pounds and I don't want to gain it back.I kept tellling myself that I have a doctors appointment about my band later this month and I can hold off, but I can't. I am going to call the band office first thing Monday morning to schedule a quicker appointment because I am afraid it has slipped. I am so angry with myself because I feel that because I didn't call the doctor when I first noticed the vomiting that I have messed up everything and they will take my band away. Does anyone else feel that way? Are you so afraid of messing up that you try to convice yourself that something isn't wrong? I truly hope when I go to the doctor that it isn't a slip or if it is that taking the Fluid out will fix it. I am only 25 and I don't want to go back to being that 479 pound girl that I was a year ago. I know I have to go to the doctor asap and I will but I am really afraid.

    Finally Had My Surgery!

I wish you the best of luck. I remember the first few weeks after surgery I dopped twenty pounds, but I was so glad when I finally got to eat those soft foods.
  12. Be glad to go back to the doctor in a couple weeks to find out why I am vomiting so much.
