  1. I'm a coke addict...... Surgery didn't fix my brain ! :( but I can't drink any coke cause its way too sweet and carbonated to the point of pain. I wish I could drink some, but then again, it's part of what got me as heavy as I was. It's soooo hard to stop carbonated drinks! I swear, in 20!years, we'll figure out they were secretly filled with some sort of mind altering drug!

  2. Water doesn't stretch your sleeve at all. You don't really get a full feeling until you start on thicker things like cream Soups etc' date=' some people don't get it until they start solids. Believe me the full feeling does come. It feels like your tummy can't hold any more so the food sits in your throat instead waiting in queue for a place in your tummy to be freed. Hope this helps a bit. Xx[/quote']

    Thanks, Lorraine! You're awesome!

  3. My dr. Told me to only drink 1 oz. every fifteen minutes. Why? That takes forever to finish a drink. I can drink faster without pain. O get in most of my fluids of I drink this way. If I drink his way, I'm not even close!

Does anyone else drink faster than that?

I'm a week out, and I'm feeling pretty good. I don't over do the drinking- I CAN'T Guzzle. Small sips.

    Thanks for your input.

  4. I was sleeved on 11/14. I was feeling great the 1st couple days after surgery' date=' ironing clothes, walking, shopping, took a ferry to Coronado, went to Chucke cheese. Then this past Wed everything came to a screeching halt when I went to Sea World. I was struggling to breath, felt feverish, pissed because I'm thirsty but couldn't drink but a sip. I was nauseous & my vision even started to blur. Energy ran slap out. I've basically been in bed every since then trying to regain energy. I go back to work on Monday & starting to feel nervous. I know this will get better once once my diet progresses, but this is my reality.[/quote']

Lionheart, you sound like you have a leak or something. Are you doing ok?

  5. Are you feeling down as well? I felt like that when I was depressed. Depression sucks every bit of motivation you have. Many people don't realize they're depressed, they think they've just gotten into a rut.

  6. I wouldn't.

You'll be able to have alcohol after the surgery 4-6 weeks out. I'm scheduled for the 26th also. The day before surgery it's one Protein shake in the AM, the a bottle of magnesium citrate and clear fluids for the rest of the day. After midnight, nothing at all to drink or eat, not even Water. So I'll be preparing my stuff this weekend for Monday.

I think that maybe one glass of wine would be ok, but I wouldn't be slammin' em back or anything. Why risk it? Alcohol dehydrates you anyway, and that would be rough going into surgery, IVbag or not.

When Twooley said you need to call your Dr. With questions like that, he was right. He answered your question with a great answer. You got nasty when no one answered you, at first, and then when he told you who you really need to consult, you got nasty with him. He gave the right answer, a caring answer, but its not what you wanted to hear. This is a question for your Doctor, not us.

Opinions don't matter in this situation. If you had a hunch that your Dr. Would say 'no' and then decided to ask us if you could have a 'get out of jail free' card to go drinking, you're making a mistake.

    Just my opinion.

  7. I sure hope it gets better. Thanks and I have thought about botox maybe that will be my 100 pound present for myself. And where do I buy otc cream?

OTC means over the counter. :-) loreal has some good ones- try the ones for aging skin, they target wrinkles! And make sure that you use an eye cream for your eye area. If you use face cream in the eye area, it can cause millia, and make your eyes puffy. And not in a good way. Hope that helps! (I'm a makeup artist.)
