    First Protein Drink...

Not being dramatic... just have to find one you can drink. I was petrified of shakes cause I was never able to drink any I tried in the past. However I did Atkins pre-op and then "tested" the Atkins RTD in the grocery store. I actually did like the dark chocolate royale. It kept me feeling "full" for like 3 hrs ( which seemed like a miracle) b4 sleeve cause normally I was hungry 24/7. While this might not be the shake 4 u... you can keep trying until you find one that works. The unjury chicken Soup got lots of +++++++ feedback on the forums but like you commented "I could barely keep it down." I recommend searching forum for "ideas" and testing several. One person drinks Oh Yeah...I tried it. While it is ok, it tasted a little sweet to me. I only sipped and might try it w/ ice blended to make it colder and lighten it a little?? I stuck w/ Atkins when I liked it so haven't tried too many. My Friend likes the the Syntrax nectar Fuzzy Navel and mixes w/ 1/2 OJ and 1/2 Water.

    So Annoyed...

Nice to see what works as I was sleeved on 5/28 so a little behind you. But the only soft foods I've tried so far that went down ok was ... Baby Bel Cheese -- I eat real small portions and chewed well. Oikos Greek yogurt -- The Lime flavor tasted like dessert :-) One that was'nt bad but wasn't smooth sailing either: Tried Egg Salad ( small amt ) and felt like I had 2 servings @ Thanksgiving dinner!
  3. Everywhere we went took US $... We did shop @ Walmart and got a little change in Pesos

I want to be sick like u guys. I am so hoping that I can be saying this in the future. I am 10 days post op. Starting next week I am going to "walk" @ Y while my daughter does her evening class there. Not supposed "exercise" until 3 wks but I know I can walk! :-)....

When You Have No Choice But Fast Food...

During my post op review they mentioned a Bob Greene book about foods when you eat out. I need to look for it but here are some suggestions I was given so far: Chick-fil-a has a Soup chicken soup. Friend said she did eat noodles in it as they were soft. Like other's said the Chili @ Wendy's. If you have a Chinese restaurant you can grap "egg drop soup" I am still in "soup phase" so that is reason for these suggestions. Panera's also has Soups. I've been making homemade soup and blending them to make them totally drinkable and packing them. If I find the Bob Greene book, I'll post name of it.
  7. Was @ Sam's last night to purchase mango's to make mango Popsicle like the ones I had in MX, and noticed Yasso Frozen Greek Popsicle... 6 grams protein. I liked them! Thought I'd share!

Yummy Food - Frozen Greek Yogurt

Not trying to convince anyone but not sure responders were versed on the Yasso Greek Yogurt. You can check out the nutritional facts for your self and decide if it is something you can have w/ your individual diets. It is 70 cal, 11 g sugar but ( ALL NATURAL) not artificial or added sugar. www.teamyasso.com/quality Definitely fits what I can have. I checked nutritional information of the other Greek yogurts to review if making my own would be less carbs and this is lower than the regular greek yogurts that come highly recommended by others which had 14+ sugar. I was just trying to be helpful and offer something that was good and had Protein. BUT THIS WILL BE THE LAST TIME I EVER DO THAT!!! Since others want to slam the suggestion.
  10. So glad your experience was positive in MX 2. Can't wait to hear your story. So happy you are doing well!
  11. BTW -- I had a wonderful friend that went with me that had been sleeved by Dr Ortiz in Nov (6 mo. ago) that was a wealth of information and had every little thing planned before I needed it.
  12. Thanks for the positive post. I am pre-op and scheduled on Monday. So needed your postive post!!!!

    Dr. Ortiz?!?

I am scheduled for 5/28 ( next Monday). I chose Dr. Ortiz cause a friend had her revision surgery ( from band to sleeve) w/ him @ OCC 6 mo. ago. She was VERY pleased w/ surgeon, staff, facility and had no complications. She will be going with me when I go. BTW -- SHE LOOKS AWESOME! MY PCP is aware I am going to MX. She did say she would do labs / normal health care but wouldn't treat anything to do with the surgery. I have not told my boss. I may send him an email prior just to advise I am having elective surgery while out on PTO (vacation).
  14. WOW...51 lbs... THAT IS AWESOME! I will be in MX 5/28. Can't wait to hear how you do after! I am pre-op and very proud of my weight loss in the past month as well but no where near your record loss! U Rock!
  15. I am scheduled with Dr Ortiz for 5/28. I've told family & close friends only and just started thinking I should probably tell "work"/boss? Did u guys tell ur boss? Were their any ramifications from medical plan if you went outside for medical procedure?
  16. I am pre-opp but discovered "Celebrate" as well... I take the multi-vitamin w/ Iron, B12 sublingual, and the Calcium . They all taste relatively good and assume I will continue w/ them after surgery as well. ( all are chewable )
  17. I'll be there in a couple of weeks and you can give me the pep talk as I am sure I will feel exactly the same way. BUT TOTALLY agree with Lissa's comments.

    Chewable Vitamins!

I am pre-surgery and just starting the journey 2 wks ago. But I found OptiSource Post Bariatric Chewable Vitamin @ Walgreens. You do have to take 4/day but they taste good. I searched on the internet and found Celebrate Chewable Vitamins and ordered the b12 in cherry and was pleased with it as well. I did order the Calcium and the multivitamin. The Calcium is ok but might try other options after this bottle. I prefer the Optisource vitamin over Celebrate vitamin.
