    Burning in throat

Hi Diane, You need to see your doctor asap. I don't want to alarm you but the very same thing happened to me last October. I ate a hot dog at my birthday party and became very ill. I had been having acid reflux for 2-3 months but I was trying to deal with it because I wanted to start losing weight again. I was banded 3 years ago last November and have lost 70 pounds. I have another 20 to loose. I suffered horriby for 3 days. I went to my surgeon and had some of the fill taken out. It didn't help. I went to the ER because I I figured I was having a heart attack. It wasn't my heart. My band had prolapsed. My stomach had come out over the top of my band. I saw it in the xray. It looked so strange. The doctor immediately did surgery and took off the band. He put another band on and I'm going back to him next Thursday to have another fill. I've only had 2 since the surgery and I have been struggling not to gain any more weight. I've gained about 8 pounds. I have enjoyed sleeping at night and not sitting up in the bed to sleep. I was eating Rolaids like candy before I knew what was wrong. You sound EXACTLY like I was. I hope you've seen your doctor by now. I didn't even bother to look at the date before I started typing this. I just knew I had to tell you ASAP. Take good care and God bless you. Terrisings

    Diarrhea after fills???

I had my band replaced last Thursday and I also had diarrhea. With my previous band (which I had for 3 years) it never happened at all. I was feeling really bummy all week so I'm guessing mine was a bug.

    Too much fill? Can't decide

I had too much fill and had to have my band removed. i was very sick. Horrible acid refulx. I woke up at night choking. I had to sleep sitting up. I suffered with this for about a month and had some fill taken out. Apparently it wasn't enough. I was vomiting almost everyday for a week. The pain felt like a heart attack. I went to the ER because I thought i was having a heart attack. I had been banded for three years and this happened!! I've learned a lesson that I feel I should have been made aware of. I just thought I was having acid reflux. I wasn't educated on that subject. Take care not to have too much fill. If you're uncomfortable - TAKE IT OUT.

    band slippage/rebanding

After being banded for 3 years my band prolapsed. I was banded again last Thursday. I was very sick. I have my own theory on why this happened. Too much fill. I thought I was having acid reflux. i would wake up at night choking. I had some fill taken out but apparently it wasn't enough. The doctor said my stomach was above the band. I don't know how long it was like that. I figured it had to be the week that I thought I was having a heart attack. I almost waited too long. Thank God I had the surgery done when I did. I didn't care if a new band was put back in, I just wanted the pain to go away. So now I am back at square one. Wish me luck.

    Anyone had slippage?

I just had my band replaced last Thursday. I went through quite an ordeal. I hope that gravity works for you. I had no clue what was going on except that i became deathly ill. I could keep no food or liquid down for the past 2 weeks. I became so sick I went to the ER thinking i was having a heart attack. It wasn't my heart but my band. I had been banded for 3 years and this happens!! The doctor told me my band had too much fill. I had terrible acid reflux. I didn't know this was caused from too much fill. After 3 years you would think I would have know this. I'm recovering. Good luck.
