Welcome Kalimomof3 and congratulations on your decision. Who is performing your surgery?

Now that I have had the procedure done I highly recommend BMI of Texas. The surgery was done at The Foundation Surgical Hospital. Everyone that I encountered during my journey at both BMI of Texas & Foundation have been wonderful. Four weeks post-op & still no regrets.
Slowkat, what did you decide.

Sleeved May 21st at HUMC by Dr. Trivedi. Started at 232 lbs and down to 207 lbs. lost 19 lbs post op. I am so happy to find May sleevers. I thought I was losing too slowly until I came across this thread. Appears I'm on track, so feeling less frustrated and a bit more confident! I'm always looking for recently sleeved friends on my fitness pal. My name is herst0ry (0=zero).
There is a private group on Facebook for May Sleevers. Send a friend request to Sharon Ivanauskas asking to be a member of the group.

I had my sleeve on May 17also. Down 31 pounds from my highest. After surgery I felt a little sore but very good. Have not had any acid reflux or burning etc. I have had head hunger lately. Any suggestions to get past this?? I have not regreted any of this so far. Thanks Dr. Pompa.
shane, I, too, have been experiencing the head hunger. When this rears its ugly head I get and do something to distract my mind. Typically I clean but you could also go for a walk or something that appeals to you.

I was sleeved on May 14 and I have been at a stall for 2 weeks!! I have lost 14 lbs but nothing in the last 2 weeks. It is getting to me very badly. Can someone here help me understand what is happening and what I can do about it?
OTRsleever is correct, stalls are normal. Are you on a post-op diet?

I have BCBS of DE. They require a bmi of 50 or higher as well. Do you have co-morbidities? If so, you can try and fight it. I contacted the insurance commissioner, and a day later I was approved. You can contact me privately, if you want...
Little Bits
This is interesting to me. I, too, have federal BCBS and my requisite BMI was 40. I guess the difference in the state we each live in. I'm in Texas.

I am now beginning my 3rd day post-op and realize the importance of getting in the fluids. I was up several times throughout the night with headaches. Drank Water and it went away.

I just squeezed into the May sleevers group. I had surgery on May 30, 2012 so not much has changed. I love reading everyone's stories though as it is encouraging.

Tinap & GivingItMyAll I was just sleeved on May 30, 2012. As many have shared, the surgery went smoothly and it has been virtually pain free thus far. Came home today from the hospital and other than fatigue I've been fine.

Thanks under construction, but I actually don't go until July 9. If only...
It'll be here before you know it.

shangefan & chicagochic I hope your surgery went as smoothly as mine did. Welcome to the other side.
