I was told to watch the chobani yogurt because of the carbs. -
Propel Zero + Bullet
Lloydthumper replied to elizabethowen79's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I was also told the bullets would not work for us. Anything with collagen or gelatin wasn't good protein. Even though it says whey protein on it it's still no good. -
Excessive Dry Mouth...w Cpap..
Lloydthumper replied to Patrick Curl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also have had this problem after surgery. Some people have to have a chin strap. I actually had a full face mask that I had but never used but I've been using it and it helps. -
Coughing And Sneezing Suck!
Lloydthumper replied to smiller1982's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved 9/19 and I'm good now to sneeze or cough but I was scared to death I was going to the first week post op I thing I would have passed out. I actually sneezed the first time today and I was ok. I did almost swallow wrong in the hospital but I caught it with just enough that I could just clear my throat and be ok. I feel for you though. I hope you get better soon. -

How Are You Doing September 2012 Sleevers?
Lloydthumper replied to AngelBaby's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Trust me Kim you can't be anymore nervous than i was. I'm a guy but had never had surgery. Plus you get upset and try to say maybe if I try to lose it one more time. But if your like me I have lost and gained back plus my whole life and I know I couldn't do it the last 50 times I tried what made this one different. I have lost as much as 98lbs on my own but I gained a 140lbs back. It's really not that bad I had a great doctor and staff and hopefully you will to. I started 7 weeks ago at 352lbs I lost 12lbs before my 3 week pre op diet I lost 30lbs on my pre op and since surgery on 9/19 I've lost 24lbs that's 66lbs in 7 weeks I feel great. The hardest part is learning to eat right and very little (which satisfies) But I'm use to large quantities and very fast. That is painful and as my first time yesterday it will come back up. I was eating Vienna sausages for lunch I'm on pureed stage and there very soft. The first time a couple days before I ate 3 and I was stuffed yesterday I was running my mouth and eating and managed to eat 4 but I didn't keep it. But I love that (Not the throwing up which wasn't much) but the fact that I actually have a tool to tell me stop dummy you eat to much. I think it's awesome so far and after the first month after I believe everyone agrees unless there is a complication. But if you look at the few that do even then after everything is better and there use to it they like it to. Main thing is never say why did I do this I haven't thought that once so far. Sorry for rambling but me and every person on here post op knows what your feeling. And you'll be fine. -
Ok First Mushy Meat What Did I Do Wrong.

Ok First Mushy Meat What Did I Do Wrong.
Lloydthumper posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok today was my first day on mushys. Eat Greek yogurt for breakfast. Also for lunch with some tomato soup everything was good. My wife fixed a pork tenderloin no fat very juicy and tender. I took my 3.5oz and ground it up in a blender till it was mush. I was able to take two bites very small and slow it was very moist and delicious but after the second bite it felt like it got stuck. Very painfull for almost an hour. I broke down and tried to wash it down with water and no change it just hurt I never eat anymore . What did I do wrong or is this normal I've been sleeved since 9/19 and have followed to the tee. -
Holy Hell?! Why Does It Cost So Much?!
Lloydthumper replied to AStephenson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Talk to your doctor most of the tests are just standard blood tests that if your doctor says are necessary for any reason not bariatric they can do it. Blood count vitamin level liver function etc are usually performed once a year anyway for a physical. They can't say anything about it. -
Hello Johnboy I am in Gastonia but I'm almost in lake Wylie. So I'm just around the corner from you. I was sleeved on 9/19 and I know exactly what your talking about. I was nervous and scared trying to talk myself out of it and everything. I know everyone is different but so far there wasn't a whole lot to it I prepared for the worst and it wasn't that bad. I went back to work today but could have went back at a week and would have been fine. You'll be fine.

I'm in Gastonia had mine on 9/19 but I had mine in Conway SC Had to self pay was $8000 promotion. So far so good still adjusting but no complications so far knock on wood

So Upset With Myself
Lloydthumper replied to SleeveShelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't be to hard on yourself you know the right thing to do just get back on track. I'm sure your not the first nor will you be the last that eat something they've been missing when cleared for regular food. I'm a week and a half out and trying to figuare out what my first real food will be and looking for something high in protein but really good to you'll be ok just remember your goal. -
Just think when I made the protein comment I expected to get a thousand women fussing at me and all took it in stride yeah this site is pretty cool

Yes where a Mexican doctor is doing seven a day an American doctor is doing 2. Because of the red tape that is involved here in America and the cost the volume isn't possible or desired. Plus maybe people that go to Mexico are way more careful post op because they know there warranty work is across the boarder. There's really no rhyme or reason to leaks though.

Just Realized A Cost Reduction In My Life Insurance Can Pay For My Sleeve.
Lloydthumper posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As the title says. About 5 yrs. ago I too out a $500,000 term life policy due to me being so overweight I felt like I was going to die any minute. I wanted my wife and kids to be took care of if something did happen. I had close to $100,000 with my job plus close to another $100,000 in my 401k so I figuared I'd take that much to be safe. But with me 5'10" and 350lbs they charge me 101 a month where I was 35 when I took it out (40 now) it should have been around $30 to $40 a month. So if I meet my goal ill have if re done and at 60 a month extra I had to self pay at $8000 it should pay me back in 11 yrs. I know it's a silly thing to think of but it has bothered me to have to do this operation for something I've did in the past on my own. (Losing weight) so now I can look at it as an investment with an 11 yr return. -
Sleeved Sept 19Th Dont Feel Restriction
Lloydthumper posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on sept 19th and I am just now moving to full liquids. One day out and I had no problem getting in my 40grams of protien 20oz (isopure) plus another 40oz of Water. I moved to full liquids today and ate a can of strained cream of potato plus my 20oz of Isopure and another 40 oz of water/apple juice all that through out the whole day plus a cup of milk I have never felt even close to full. Is this normal with liquids will it change when go I go to solids. Please advise I'm worried. -

Lloydthumper replied to Lloydthumper's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well it hurts the same either way. I was able to finish 20oz in about 5 hrs which is about what my goal is at this point. I do feel full now but not in pain. -
Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
Lloydthumper replied to newgrandmother's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well I can say I'm sleeved 9/19/12 doing good other than feels like I get stabbed for about 2 secs each time I drink anything. Dr said it was spasms and gave me a script for it. So far I'm drinking good (minus the pain) and I'm walking on the treadmill in my motel as I type this my Dr was Morris Washington at costal bariatrics in Conway SC the whole experience has been above and beyond what I expected. I lost 42lbs pre op and have 100lbs to go and I hope to get there. So as for the sept sleevers roll call I'm here:)
