  1. Sorry, I've been MIA for a few weeks. With vacation and all the other madness summer brings me, I've haven't had alot of computer time. Anyway, I wanted to know if anyone still has port site pain? It comes and goes, but it still hurts most days. I have this thing about my house being spotless at all times. So I'm always bending down moping and cleaning base boards. Just wondering if I'm aggrivating it or I never gave it a chance to heal. Some days it real hurts. Hopefully I'm not the only one :/

  2. Someone else I think talked about this awhile ago, They were afraid that their band had slipped. But it was actually a piece of food that had gotten stuck and had never went down and it was basically rotting away in their stomach. She went in and they had to unfill her and then she was good to go after that. Hope that helps.

  3. So I figured I'd ask how everyone is doing? Since we are all going to Celebrate or Bandaversary all this month. What have you all noticed this one month out?

I have to say that I had the most amazing experience yesterday. Back in Feb I went to Florida to take my daughter to Disney. Hubby is in the Army and it just never works out for him to have time off :( Right before we left I went to the mall to grab a pair of shorts and capris to have for the trip. Rushing and not wanting to try anything on (Because surely I wasn't bigger then an 18) I packed and off I went. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure out that the stupid capris didn't fit! I was so mad and upset at myself for once again allowing this to happen. Needless to say that once I had my surgery I put those pants on a chair in my bedroom and I tried them on every week. For some reason last week it escaped me and so no try on. Yesterday afternoon I decided to try again. At this point I have lost 23Lbs sine Feb and with a deep breath they easily went over my butt. And then with and exhale and deep breath again I was able to buttoned them! The scream and tears that followed left me overwhelmed. I went from struggling to pull them up to being able to button them in such a short time. I now know that I'm on the right road and I just couldn't be happier. I hope everyone has an amazing Bandaversary!

  5. I had cest pains in the first few days as well. Turns out I asn't doing enough of my breathing exercises. My cest felt as if someone was standing on it all the time. Once I started breathing with that thing that they sent me home with I felt much better withing 24 hours. Call your Doc and have them check it out.

  6. My name is Wanda I live in West Point, NY. I was banded on May 2nd 2012 in Port Jervis, NY. I have an amazing 6 yr old daughter named Catherine. I'm a stay at home mom that homeschools and so my days are usually filled with non stop excitment. Looking forward to meeting fellow New Yorkers.

  7. So I figured as we start getting through mushy's and heading to solids that we could share different recipes. Also things that we discover along the way that are amazing. For example, tonight I discovered suger free/fat free pistacchio pudding. 25 cal and it was amazing! Granted most of us will be on mushy's for awhile and I personally still have 9 days left. Looking forward to learning some great recipes and sharing new things I discover along the way. Wanda

  8. I have to say that as time goes by it does get better. You know as someone that is 3 weeks out (the expert that I am :) ) The only thing that I can say that I had a taste for was a coke. I did cheat and have a sip and let me tell you, the worst feelig ever!!! Not because of the sip but because of the taste! It didn't taste good at all and that's when I was having the same feelings as you. Will I ever be able to have a burger or a coke? Will going out to dinner ever be something I look forward too? IS LIFE EVER GOING TO BE ENJOYABLE AGAIN?!?!?! Then the all time greatest...Did I do the right thing? I have to say that only time will tell. The pain under the boob thing is a little less painful now. People also talk alot about listening to the band/body. Have to say that its true. In the morning I need something warm first to loosen the band up and then I can have the cold protene shake or yogurt. the pain is worse if I start with something cold. I also need to wait a good 30 to 45 minuted

before introducing anything to my stomach in the morning. I think its going to take time for all of us to figure it out.

  9. Stalled at week 3. Lost 14 lbs in the first two weeks. When I went to the Dr. he said that we need to realize that our bodies thinks its starving and its holding on for dear life. As soon as we eat 800 calories for a few weeks it picks up again because it realizes that that's all its going to get. Makes sense to me. Hopefully I explained it right.

  10. Mmmmm....I've been struggling with eating in general. I'm never hungry and I have never felt full. Its the oddest thing ever. Doc put 5cc in my 10cc band and as of right now I don't even know if i'll ever need a fill. Stuck feeling happened for the first time yesterday. Made tuna fish with 1tbs of light mayo and it was not liquidy enough I guess. It felt horrible!!! The worst feeling ever and so painful. Made one egg this morning and had to force myself to finish it. On Tuesday I went 8 hrs with only two bottles of Water, not good. I have felt the pain under my left breast as well, so I wonder if that's supposed to indicate that you are full? Excited to see what everyone else says.

  11. I've been feeling great since Friday. Went on a hike Saturday and Sunday with my family and I barely got back to the car on Sunday. I got a stich in my side which made it difficult to climb the last hill. Only issue I'm really having is that I haven't lost any weight since Thursday. Kind of freaking out about it all. I have lost 11lbs. since my surgery 12 days ago but, most of that was in the first 5 days. Any early banders having the same issue? I know its almost a pound a day but when you go 7 days without eating and you only lose 2 lbs its a little scary. Alot of "What have I done!!!!". Just glad to meet everyone and have a place to vent worry and frustration.
