  1. I originally wanted the band too until I did research. The two people I personally know that had bands both had to have them removed. One eroded badly into my friend's stomach. There are so many users here that had issues with the band that it was enough to convince me the band was not the way to go. I would also never do bypass due to the nutritional deficits. The hardest part for me to get my head around with the sleeve was that it was permanent. I'm almost 3 weeks out now and have no regrets. I'm looking forward to continued weight loss and increased health!

  2. I wanted to get a lift when I was 22 because my boobs got horribly saggy from pregnancy and breast feeding. The cosmetic surgeon talked me into getting just big implants instead of a lift. I went from a very small B to a big D. Implants were above the muscle. They were perfect for a few years then they started sagging again. Now they are very saggy. I'm sure gaining 100 # had something to do with it too. When I'm done with all my weight loss I'm getting the implants out and just going for small perky boobs.

  3. I was sleeved may 23rd - lost 4 lbs pre-op (I didn't have to do a pre-op diet - but I did start cutting things out of my diet) have lost 8 lbs since surgery - so started at 24 am now 211

I was sleeved 5/23 too but am too scared to get on the scale! My highest weight was in January of this year, 302 lb. I lost 19 pounds during the Kaiser Options program and my one week liquid pre-op.

  4. I check in at 5 tomorrow morning and my surgery is scheduled for 8:30. I'm all packed and ready to go. I'm not nervous at all. I've been under general three times so maybe that's why. My kids are more worried than I am. My 17 year old said can't you please just do something not permanent or just try and diet one more time? So cute to see my 6'1 son all worried about his mom.

  5. My update:

I finished options on April 4th. The Options LVN coordinator emailed me the next day to say she submitted my chart to the doctor for surgery approval and she asked where I wanted to have surgery. I chose Fountain Valley Hospital which is contracted by Kaiser. The surgeon's office called me on 4/16. They emailed me paperwork to fill out and a video to watch on the sleeve surgery. The surgery scheduler called me on 4/19 and we scheduled my surgery for 5/23. I could have scheduled it sooner but that date worked best for me.

I had an appointment with my surgeon the following Monday. Her name is Kelly Francis. The appointment was quick. She answered a few questions I had and that was it. She was very nice. I went to a mandatory nutrition class the next day and that's it. All I have left is pre-op labs the week before surgery then the surgery. I am going on a liquid diet for a week before surgery.

I am pretty excited and just a little nervous. Not really nervous about the surgery, more about the life changes I'll be making after surgery.
