  1. My doctor said it is not a good idea to take NSAIDs BUT if you need to on a regular basis then you need to be taking a PPI daily. PPI = Prilosec, Omeprazole, Nexium, Protonix, etc

    No Longer Losing...help, Ideas?

I was going to say what Cazzy said. I have read over and over that you should change things up so your body doesn't get in a rut. More or less calories and more or less exercise. I like the pig out day too, might need to try that one.

    6 Year Banniversary

Really enjoyed your story, thank you for sharing. I am hoping to take some information from your story and apply it to my journey.
  5. My husband stands behind me 100%. I only told my best friend, my sister and my daughter-in-law & son. I have sworn them all to secrecy. People at my job (the bosses who had to ok my absence) only know I had surgery, by law they can not ask. I do not need anyone else second guessing me or lecturing me on something they know nothing about. It is a personal decision to share your journey, I have chose not to share. My 6 yr old grandson who I am raising is a big reason I had my surgery. Good luck to you on your journey, I hope your boyfriend can get on board with you, it will make it easier. If this is something you feel you need to do then do not let anyone talk you out of it. Do it for yourself and to be there for you son.
  6. Lupediva, I got my lapband card the day of my surgery, they gave it to me when I was discharged. I still have not tried to use it in a restraurant but I should. Make sure you write down your questions or you will forget something. Good luck to you.

Lap Band And Your Manly Man Friends

I am not a man but just look at the weight you have lost. You have to be doing something right. I think any guy who sticks up for himself is a MAN. AND a guy who can not comprehend what he is being told is the sissy. Maybe you need some new hunting buddies! Just me two cents worth!

    Any Suggestions Please

Could someone explain to me why riding in a car makes your band tighter? I sit at a desk for 8 hours a day so I don't think it would be much different. I ask because I have a 10 road trip coming up the 14th. Thanks

    Pbr... Why?

I am past that stage so I can't speak from experience. I can tell you I have read many posts where people have said they get tighter at that time.

    Malca Magnesia (Sp?)

I don't know about pain but you get alot of air, like drinking carbonation. I have been told it's not good for the band.

Not a good idfea to use a straw when you are banded.
  18. GOOD - I got in my car a couple days ago and thought the seat had been moved because my belly was not rubbing. BAD - I feel like I am lying to everyone at work when they ask me how I have lost weight. No one at work knows about my band, so I tell them I am eating low carb, low fat and high protein (all true).
  19. I would never give up, I am just saying until you reach restriction, it is a struggle. I am agreeing with your quote: It's All About Restriction! Otherwise It's Just Another Diet.
  20. My doctor only prescribed them for 30 days. Your symptoms are signs of a band slip, you should have that check and not wait.
  21. I have to disagree with this, I have been dieting every since I decided to get the band. Until you have restriction you have to fight every urge you have to eat the things you shouldn't. Restriction or the green zone can take several months. I am two months out, have had one fill and I can eat anything I want, which I don't. The band is not an easy out it is hard work that does pay off in the end.

    I Cheated

Have you tried different types of liquids? Soups, broths, fat free popsicle or fat free Jello. You can also have diet juices or add flavors to your Water. Also Protein shakes, that does help so you are not so hungry. You need to mix it up so you are not having the same thing everyday. Believe me it was a very long two weeks for me also, but you can get thru it. I asked my doctor if I could start mushies two days early and I was told, "No, if you start cheating now you always will", so I waited. Try to follow your doctors orders the best you can, it will pay in the end. Good Luck
