  1. Great job. I also hit 298 last Thursday. Never going back. Feels great.
  2. Not a fan of frozen dinners do I am always on the lookout for quick meal ideas. I have found chicken sausages from a few different makers that are really good. Take about 10 mins to cook and they are low carb and high Protein. costco has a good one and do does Johnsonville. 13 g of protein and 5 carb. Hillshire Farms has precooked grilled chicken breasts. Seasoned and only take 60 secs in microwave. I also like to keep canned chicken in the pantry. Always a quick go to. I take three ounces and heat it in the microwave with a Laughing Cow cheese wedge and a few dashes of hot sauce. Makes a kind of buffalo chicken dish.
  3. This afternoon I droves husbands car to go do the shopping. I was getting back in the car at the store and snapped my seat belt and realized I had never moved the seat belt extender from the passenger seat where I normally sit in his car to the drivers seat I had no problem buckling the seat belt and had plenty of extra room. I was thrilled!!! Good bye extender. I never want to see you again. 65 pounds down as of Thursday!!!!
  4. I'm doing about 700. I'm 7 weeks out.
  5. I love the Turkey Perky Jerky. Comes in a gold bag and I buy it at walmart. 1 oz is only 50 calories, 0 fat, 2 carb, 9 Protein, 2 sugars. My favorite snack. I have been eating an ounce a day.
  6. I slept on the recliner the first week. Was not comfortable laying in bed. Was also easier to get up from the chair.
  7. Just wanted to let you know that Ocean Spray also makes individual packets to add to your water. Cran-lemonade, Cran-grape and white cranberry peach. All sugar free and very good. Only thing that is helping with my liquids right now. Have gotten them at Walmart.
  8. I totally remember having those feelings before my surgery. I was very worried about the operating room as I had surgery at the hospital where I work. Very weird to think that I was going to be naked on the table and people that I have known for years were going to see me. I really just put it out if my mind and prayed that I would have peace about it. I will say everyone was very professional and I was under anesthesia before the took the gown off and didn't wake up until I was in my room so I don't have any memories of anything happening in the OR. I am one month out and have no regrets whatsoever. Good luck.
  9. Four weeks out now and was cleared for soft foods. Yeah no more puréed foods. I cooked a pork roast with apples in the crock pot. Was very good. Ate about 2 oz of it with 1 tbls of mashed potatoes. Last night for dinner I had my first egg since surgery. Scrambled it with 1/4 cup turkey sausage crumbles and 1/2 oz of cheese. Was the best thing I've had since surgery. Nice to get things with some flavor.
  10. Crystal Farms light spreadable cheese wedges. Basically the same as Laughing Cow, but has more protein. 3 grams of protein and only 30 calories.
  11. I spent 2 nights in the hospital and was allowed to shower and change the morning after surgery. They removed the catheter at that time. Was much more comfortable in my own clothes. I also wore a bra. Not really comfortable in public without one. Probably didnt help that I work at the hospital where I had surgery and didn't really want visitors to see me in a gown.
  12. Forgot to mention that this is on my purée diet. Told to start with 2 oz. Seemsore appealing to me than baby food meats.
  13. I'm on the puréed stage. I have eaten soft meat, but I do use my stick blender to kind of grind it up. Made chicken salad that way and it tastes great. Nice to eat something with a little texture.
  14. Excited to see people that started over 300 lbs. Reading all the threads with people that only need to loose 100 pounds makes me feel that I have so far to go. First visit with surgeon was at 364, did high protein, low carb diet and was 331 at surgery on 9/13/12. Two week post-op weight was 313. Thrilled to be down 50 pounds. Clothes are loose and I am excited to be starting this journey.
  15. First day of puréed foods. I cooked off a chicken in the crockpot for my family and puréed some for me with a little mayo. Surprising how fast it made me full. Made 2 oz and could only eat about 1/2. Tasted so good. Nice to have something not sweet and with good flavor. Hoping I can get my fluids in with not drinking before and after a meal. I think that is going to be the hardest part for me.
  16. Went for my two week post-op checkup. Restrictions lifted. Going to go back to work on Monday, but think I will do 1/2 days for a week. I get to move to puréed foods on Saturday. The best part is that I have lost 31 lbs since my pre-op appointment. Yeah!!!!!!
  17. I have found the Listerine breath strips really help with the bad breath. You dissolve them on your tongue. They sting a little, but I figure that means they are killing germs.
  18. This is the only way I can drink protein shakes. Love it with vanilla protein powder. My surgeons office actually recommended it for during my full liquid stage which I am in now. I'm 6 days post-op. There is also PB2 with chocolate. Also good if you add a small piece of banana to protein shake and put in blender.
  19. I'm in Lancaster County,PA. Dr. Brader. Was sleeved on Thursday, September 13. First night home. Little sore, but much better than day of surgery.
  20. Someone recommended to make my own ice cream. Just tried it. Used chocolate soy milk and vanilla protein powder. After blending put in my cuisenart ice cream maker for 20 minutes. Flavor wasnt bad and used 1 1/2 times protein so I'm getting about 8 grams of protein in a small 2oz serving.
