Question
I'm 2 years out of surgery and been having bad bouts of diarrhea (specifically 3 in the last 3 months). I've noticed a trend.... After I eat raw vegetables. It lasts about 24 hours with severe cramping each time. I guess I'm just wondering if this is in any way surgery related or just something else. I've never had these problems pre surgery.

Pre-Op Liquid Diet Fear
The hunger u feel before surgery is different than the hunger after surgery. I had physical symptoms of hunger like growling stomach but didn't have much of an appetite. Of course this is just my experience.

Pre-Op Liquid Diet Fear
In my opinion it was easier to follow ur diet after surgery than before. Don't beat urself up too much about it. You'll do it after surgery because then I won't have a choice.

One Year Out
I'm 8 mos out and eat 6-8 0z at a time depending on what the food is. Sometimes it's less than that. I can't drink much w meals.... Maybe a few sips. I wouldn't stress about ur 3 oz. Because ur sleeve might have been made smaller than mine. I was told and have read that it's normal to expand a couple of oz. But I don't over eat in fear of stretching. I started at 277 and weigh 175. I would like to lose another 10 or 15 then maintain. Sounds like ur doing great.

My Sleeve Is Confusing Me

My Sleeve Is Confusing Me
Anything. Although I do have issues with very tough cuts of meat. If it's moist and tender I can tolerate it. Also bulky bready type things... Example: I can do a sandwhich with wheat bread but if it's a big thick piece of bread you can forget it. It's because it's dense. Too much volume. Other than those 2 I can pretty much tolerate anything.

My Sleeve Is Confusing Me
I'm 8 mos out of surgery and I experienced the same thing. It's your body adjusting. U are hungry and it's normal. The sounds ur belly are making are normal also. It will pass. Keep hydrated and eating ur current diet as directed. Good luck.

4 Years Later - 20 Pounds Up. How To Get The Mojo Again?
I am 8 mos out of surgery and concerned about weight gain in years to come . I think about it often. I'm just 10- 15 lbs shy of my personal goal weight. Even now being so early out of surgery I'm finding that I have to excersise 3-4 times a week to keep it off as I have plateaued. I've recently just realized the easy part was losing it. The hard part will be keeping it off. Any suggestions that u may have I will graciously take. I'm very interested in hearing from the oldies like yourself. I want to know what to expect so I can be prepared as I can be in keeping this weight off.

Omg Back To Work Today
I also had my surgery at the hospital I work at. My experience was very positive... Ppl were very supportive. I had same concerns you do. But I was actually surprised by responses and actions of coworkers. To be honest I kinda like everyone knowing because it made me accountable and make better eating decisions and food choices.I hope ur experience was as pleasant as mine. Good luck. If u have any specific qs don't hesitate to ask.
