FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved
Amie replied to DivaNurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was also feeling like that about a month ago. So I decided to up my calories to around 1000-1150 and it really helped. It might make me lose at a slow pace but I feel 100% better and feel like I have enough energy to workout. I've alway drank protein shakes for a snack usally just 1 a day, I wouldn't worry that you are still having to drink them. As for the water, I wish I could help and give you some good ideas but I to have a rought time getting at least 64oz. in, I think I've only done it on maybe 5 days in the last 3 months. Just keep trying. -

Darn, I didn't have a drain when I had my surgery in Feb. 2013, here in Washington State, my mom was with me the whole time so now she doesn't really want one. She thinks they sound gross, unnecessary since I didn't need one and had no issues. I also didn't have a catheter or have to have staples on my incisions they just used glue which was nice. Thank you for all the info, and keep up the good work. -
I feel the exact same way. I can't wait to get fit again. You can do it. I wish I had the energy and drive Fiddleman does. Hopefully someday.

I'm so glad you had a great experiance. I'm doing a little research for my mom. And Dr. Kelly is at the top of my list for her. Did you have a drain? Does Dr. Kelly take Visa for payment? -

Totally addicted to the quest bars. I've like almost every flavor and liked most of them. My favorite is Strawberry Cheesecake. I only let myself have one a day though.

Well I feel pretty good. I just looked at my license and yep just like I thought. 260lbs no lying here. What would be the point. -

Amie replied to Mickeydies's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I realized my hip bones are very close to my ribs. I really hope it's not abnormal. Lol -

Ideas for what to tell people?
Amie replied to BriDawn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Omg, no one cares if you all keep it a secret. It's all the cover stories and lying about how you are losing the weight. -

It's not the "NOT telling your personal business" that is lying. It's the lie everyone tells others about why they were off work or how they have lost weight. A lie is a lie anyway you spin it. -

How much time off before returning to work?
Amie replied to Linkin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to be off for 2 weeks then 4 weeks in light duty. I have a light labor job. My doc said I couldn't lift more than 25lbs until 6 weeks. If I had short term disability I would have just taken the whole 6 weeks off. -
I couldn't find it on my groupon app. I hope you post a link.

Went on my first airplane post op on Saturday and was able to let my wife have the window seat and I took the middle one. I still encroached on her space a little but she was just happy she didn't have to say in the middle.

I vote for being open and honest. You will be surprised at the amount of support you get. You might have to explain all the health benefits you get from this surgery but it will be worth it. You might find that you will possible inspire some friends and family to pursue a healthier lifestyle, whether also getting the sleeve or just eating better. Good luck. -
If your trying to cheat aiready. Your notvready
Amie replied to tlah's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was 100% ready for this surgery, had to wait a year for it to finally happen. Was put on a 3 week skim milk only diet for my pre op, and hell yes I cheated lol but I still lost 17lbs and shrunk my liver which is the point of the pre op diet. I was sleeved on 2/19/13 and have lost another 35lbs. I am sure I will never stick to the perfect all protein, 64 oz of water a day diet, and if I could have I wouldn't have needed this surgery. I have little cheats here and there but absolutely nothing like before. If you think you are going to be so perfect why don't you try the pre op diet and post op with out having the surgery. Good luck. -
Stalls really suck. I would say you should they and switch things up a little. Eat more calories for a couple days, change up your workouts also.
