What great news! Thanks for sharing, that lifted my spirits.

I tried the Ducolax and it was very effective. I couldn't make the Miralax work, it congealed in the cup before I could drink it! I'm finally settling into a rhythm without aids but it is NOT every day like pre op. Is there anything in your diet that could be making this a chronic problem? I love cheese but it does cause Constipation for me.

Best wishes for a speedy and uncomplicated recovery. Life on the Loser's Bench is very nice!

I knew I'd get no support from my husband so I didn't even bother to tell him until my surgery was scheduled. He tried to talk me out of it for TWO hours. But no one knows me and how I've struggled to control my weight like I do. The next morning he said he realized I didn't tell him to discuss it, but to notify him. LOL He's catching on. Then he joined me on the pre op diet and has since lost 20 pounds on his own. Do the right thing for you and others will follow!

That's right, this is not typical. But your results show what you CAN achieve with unfaltering discipline and hard work! Your performance out of town shows if you stay the plan, you can lose even when the circumstances around you aren't the best. Congratulations and keep up the excellent work!

You look fantastic. But you earned it! Congratulations for a wonderful job.

My training for The 3 Day for the Cure started mid May and my surgery was July 9th. The weekend before my surgery I walked 7 miles on Sat and 6 miles on Sun. I was also doing kickboxing and Zumba. After surgery I walked a mile 4 days post op and slowly built up. Four weeks post op (last weekend) I walked 10 miles on Sat and 6 miles on Sun. I also walk 4 miles on Tues and Thurs, do weight training (nothing over 8 pounds) 20-40 min on Wed and Fri. Monday is recovery. My walking speed is 18:45 alone, faster on the weekends with the team. I've added some Gatorade carbs to fuel my walks and feel much better. No hopes of building muscles, just burning the fat off the muscles I already have.

It's very, very important that you stay hydrated during this period. Many people find cold Water doesn't work so they drink room temperature water. Also other warm drinks like tea and decaffinated tea can be very comforting. Whatever you drink, at this stage, just sip. Seriously. Really small sips. If you can sip an once every 15 minutes, you can build up from there. Your hunger is more likely to be thirst. This is a good way to find out. You say you're in the bathroom every hour. Make sure you stick to the liquids appropriate for your stage. Also a PPI (prescribed or OTC) can make a huge difference. I have to take mine twice a day. Ok. Let's see if you can start to feel better.

I had my surgery on 7/27. I weighed 214 and now I am at 199. I'm very frustrated because I am counting my calories on my fitness pal. The first week after surgery' date=' I was at 200-300 calories per day. Now I'm getting 500 calories per day or less. I feel like I should be losing more weight.[/quote']So in less than 2 weeks you've lost your IV fluids and 15 pounds! Sounds like you're doing great! Please don't be disappointed because a stall on the scale is inevitable. Make sure you also focus on your measurements or how your clothes fit. These things will be the true measure of progress. Keep up the good work!

Way to go, buddy! You're looking great. Don't worry about those pesky stalls. You're workin' that sleeve

Good advice. If the PPI you're taking doesn't work, ask your dr for something else until you get one that does work. On the other front, work problems come and go. Don't let this situation sabatoge your weight loss or your job! Get the nutition you need somehow. Try the Protein Shake options until you find something that works. For the job, look for something else or make lemonade out of those lemons you've been handed. I know! I had a job I loved until March of this year. I tried to stick it out but it just got worse. Had a great interview for a position in another department Friday. I hope you start feeling better. We're all here for you
so keep us posted.

Yeah, the ER is a hassle but you really don't want to give it more time to spread to somewhere like your lungs or bloodstream. Don't mean to scare you but infections love to travel!

You and your family are in my prayers that the worse is over! Please rest when you get home so you can heal from all this.

Week Four post op
Challenge weight: 203.4
Last week's weight: 192.8
Today's weight: 191.0 (down 1.8 pounds)
Goal weight: 180
After last Monday, went up 1.2 pounds then into a stall until yesterday. Looking forward to a bigger weight loss week. Lots of NSVs every time I wear something. I LOVE my sleeve!

I'm sorry I don't have any answers for you. But it's only been 3 weeks so I'm hoping things start to improve for you very soon.

Maybe tweaking a couple of things will help. Make sure you keep the carbs under control. Who knew skim milk had carbs??? Exercise more. My long walks are therapeutic. And drink that Water. I'm STILL struggling with that but the few days I hit it, the scale moved. Hang in there. We can do this!

If you're that big of a difference in clithing sizes, just hold on! The scale will reflect the change eventually. Just stay focused on the things we're supposed to do. I love Geno's analogy. A scale can only show what you weigh, not how you look. Good luck!

That's very good news. Continue to rest and sip. You made it to the Loser's Bench!!!

Having been on a thousand diets and failed, I knew this was a lifestyle change also. The major reason I failed before was because I didnt change. With a lifestyle change there are clearly things I will never eat or drink again. Weight Watchers teaches all things in moderation BUT still acknowledges we all have our set of "red light" foods; things we can't even taste because we can't exercise that moderation. I think even people considering the surgery want to know how much THEY have to change to make this work. That's why the response of I can eat that when I want to regain the weight is so spot on!

I'm sorry you had such a hard time but delighted to hear from you now! Truly God is in control and you are still in his loving care. Right now you need to rest and recover. Take it easy and enjoy this time of healing. Please keep us posted on your progress.

Daniel, like you, I can drink more slushy G2 than any other liquid. That includes a variety of Crystal Light flavors. Slushy orange G2 is my favorite. But is it quite high in carbs so I only use after a long walk.
I do add some lemons and limes to my pitcher of Crystal Light. It's in a core cylinder so I think I'm going to take the suggestion to make it even more acidic. Good luck to you!

Three weeks post op
Challenge weight: 203.4
Last week's weight: 199.4
Today's weight: 192.8 (down 6.6 pounds)
Goal weight: 180 (down 10.6, 12.8 to go)
Starting to each purees and I'm shocked by how little I can eat! But I love having tuna, scrambled eggs, yogurt, and refried Beans. Yum! This beats a liquid diet any day. To get off the rest, more liquids, more Protein, and stick to the exercise.
Doing well on tasks but need more fluids and protein to really meet this goal.
