I Feel Like An Aspercreme Factory!

You can buy supports/braces for your knees and I find BioFreeze to be VERY effective for all aches and pains. But I think Webchickadee has the right idea. You may need to slow down a bit to give your joints some healing time. You've lost considerable weight but still may have a bit more than the joints can handle right now. I wish I lived in Florida. You could pressure wash MY house and then we could sit in the hot tub together! G.
  2. Thank you SO much!!! This is priceless <3.

    June 7Th Is The Day!

Me too, Madison! I just keep thinking how badly I wanted this and the good life that lies ahead. No food can compete with that feeling. I've got post-it notes on the wall for my countdown to fight off the boredom. Tomorrow I start the daily walks to keep up my strength. Even doing laundry was rough today! G.

    On My Way!

    That is wonderful news. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!
  10. I remember one of my many Weight Watchers periods where I lost big the first week and continued to lose. Others lost a respectable amount of weight as well but ONE co-worker lost not a single ounce for almost six weeks. They reviewed her food diary, measured her, interviewed her and had NO idea what was going on. On the fifth or six week she finally lost, and lost BIG. She continue to do well and lose at a "normal" rate after that. No one could explain what happened, but she hung in there and her body finally kicked in and joined the party. Don't give up!!! G.

    Dallas June Sleevers?

Things are moving for me very fast now. I'll be sleeved by Dr. Kim June 7th in Decatur. Anyone else with Dr. Kim that day? I'm trying to figure out transportation since that's not really close to Carrollton. G.

Approved.... A Shout And A Dance!

Thank you so much, my sleeve sista. Not only did I finally get approved today (hearty praise), I got a June 7th date!!!!!!!!!! Last week the coordinator told me June would probably not be an option for me, only a few spots left. I told her it sounded like I needed a miracle so that's what I'd be praying for. We'll be on that lovely liquid diet together very soon. I'll keep praying for you and you do the same for me. Let's keep in touch, ok? G.

    Uhc Approved My Surgery

Talked to more nice people at UHC today but very bummed my case is still in review. Since last Thursday. I've even started looking at Dr. Alvarez in Mexico. He's much less expensive than here and you get so much more. But I have NO money so I would have to rob a bank in San Antonio on my way to his clinic. For now I'll continue to wait on UHC.
  18. So I began this morning like a cat on a hot tin roof. When will I get approved? When will I get scheduled? When will I be thin? I was a MESS! Then I remembered a movie I saw years ago. (This is the version I remember) A man had a clicker that would allow him to fast forward through the boring parts of his life to the good parts so he didn't have to wait. At first he clicked through a boring dinner with his in-laws. Of course his wife was ticked because he sat through dinner like a zombie, so he clicked through the fight with her about that. But then he started to make bigger jumps like the months he had to wait for his promotion. Soon he found himself old, his wife gone, and his adult children were strangers to him. He then realized all the "boring" moments in-between the things he was waiting for were the things that really mattered. So now I'm calm, back at my desk working and determined to enjoy each moment between those things above that I mentioned. Sure, the destinations are great, but the journey is what our lives are all about. Take a deep breath and enjoy today. G. P.S. The movie with Click with Adam Sandler.

    Waiting Instead Of Living

I LOVE these ideas. I won't take much time off because I work at home on a computer but I'm going to start gathering recipes, checking out TheworldaccordingtoEggface.com and WaningWoman.com Thanks so much!
  20. You look wonderful! Congratulations. G.
  21. Hi Shannon and welcome, My insurance case was opened yesterday so I'm just waiting for approval to get my surgery date. I love this forum and spend a great deal of time learning SO much and encouraging others. You'll find some solid support here. I'm glad you've joined us. @ladylisa - Decatur? I'm probably going to have my surgery there with Dr. Kim next month! I'll keep you posted. G.

    Uhc Approved My Surgery

Called UHC today. I ended up talking to three people to get to the right information. Thank you Susie, Chris, and Jodi for all being so nice to me. My case is in and assigned a reference number. Now I wait. Why not ask me to do something easy like cut all my fingers off with a butter knife! BREATHE! I have a reminder in my phone that goes off twice a day. It reads, "God finishes everything He starts." So I will wait for His finish in His perfect timing. G.

    I Am Beyond Frustrated!

Hopefully some of the Cigna folks will see this and jump in. I've not had any exposure myself or here in the forum to something like this. I hope they turn all this around SOON! G.

    Uhc Approved My Surgery

You are correct, there are different requirements in UHC based on the plan and the employer. I checked our specific plan and called them right after the consult. The 5 year history of BMI of 40+ and the use of a Center of Excellence is the only requirment for me to get 100% coverage. The physician has to be in network. If I don't use the COE, I only have 80% coverage for the facility (if it's in network.) But check your plan for your employer to be sure. G.
