  1. I just had my gallbladder out one week ago.. Due to gallstones and very bad pain. Totally worth it to get it out (btw I am 5 months out). Never had a problem with gallstones pre surgery. The pain can become unbearable. Get it out now.
  2. As we lose weight should our pulse decrease, even if we aren't very active? Lost 121 lbs in five months. Recently my pulse has been between 50-66
  3. You look fabulous! What was your starting weight?
  4. Did you fix your problem by drinking more?
  5. oh, and before surgery i did all of the necessary testing - stress test, cardiac cath, and i was never alerted of a problem. i saw my cardiologist for general check up about 2 weeks ago, and nothing....was fine
  6. Hello, So, here's the story. I had the sleeve 4-24-12, and I've lost 118.4 (gotta include the .4), in the five months since. The only complication was my gallbladder - which I had removed 6 days ago. Besides the normal pain from the procedure, no other complaints. So, it just so happened that I had to get a "physical" for my new job that I started yesterday. They did the drug test, blood pressure, and pulse. My pulse was 52 on the machine. So the nurse did it with her fingers, and it was the same. I checked it a few times throughout the day myself, and it was high 50's low 60's... My blood pressure was excellent. So today, I checked my pulse, and it was 63, blood pressure was still fine. Any ideas? Yesterday and today I have been feeling "lousy". Headaches, fatigue, but not like crazy exhaustion or anything. I do suffer from anxiety - and knowing that I may have an issue kinda freaks me out. I am going to see my primary care doctor on Thursday evening, but I was wondering if anyone had anything similiar do you think it's from the weight loss surgery do you think it's from the gall bladder surgery do you think it's from the stress of leaving an old job and startin a new one? i mean, geeze, i lost 118.4 pounds - i shouldn't be having heart problems, right?? today, i felt a little better - barely a headache (but didn't take anything for it), and tired, but not that tired. please, any ideas, thanks!
  7. Ok. So I had the sleeve done just about five months ago. I have been pretty successful thus far.. Losing 117 pounds. So now my friends mother and our other friend are trying to use me an my success to talk my friend into gettig the surgery too I really don't like this... I mean I like that they see me as successful but I have had to overcome a lot... I've missed a lot of work for doctors appointments and recovery time, paid a lot in co pays, had to learn a new way of life, been in the ER three times for pain, either always have diahhrhea or constipation, and most recently I had to have my gallbladder out... Which I'm still recovering from. ... Painful doesn't describe it... So I guess what I'm gettin at is that I am thankful people are proud of me and what I have accomplished... But I don't want people to use me as an example and say... See how easy it was? If she could do it so could you... Because people aren't taking into account how difficult this has been... Not to mention the 6 months of pre-op stuff I had to do. You need to have a strong supportive group of family and friends and I don't know if my friend would have that I would love for my friend to have this surgery and be successful... But I don't want her to be forced into it, or to think its gonna be easy peasy... Suggestions?
  8. So I had my sleeve surgery 4-24-12. All is great down 117 pounds. Then I started having gallbladder problems. So this past Thursday I had it out. Same day procedure. I thought it would be a piece of cake... And thought it would be easier than the sleeve. So I get the surgery on Thursday and because of financial issues I go to work on Friday... Stupid I know but it was only a desk job and I took an hour and a half break and slept in my car. Well I've been in lots of pain an very uncomfortable. I've taken some pain killers but they don't do anything except make me have anxiety. My other issue is constipation... I haven't gone to the bathroom and I feel completely backed up. I've taken a laxative as well as milk of mag. I also have my period. Also they put a cath in me during my procedure and since the procedure I feel like I am not peeing like normal. Any suggestions? How do I feel better??
  9. So I had my gallbladder out... And I'm in more pain with this procedure than I was with the sleeve...
  10. So I had my gallbladder out two days ago and a cath was put in during my procedure and removed before I woke up. Since then I've had some difficulty urinating... Like the pee will start stop start stop... Not like one usual stream... I know... TMI.
  11. I was not on any meds prior. I wish I was. If I could do it again I would ask for it. Just didnt know. My mom just had the sleeve and her doctor prescribed medicine right away
  12. In a few hours I'll be having my gallbladder out. Have one stone and some sludge. Let's hope this is the reason for my pain. I also have pre ulcers... So if it's not the gallbladder it's prob the pre ulcers... Doctor says have the gallbladder problems due to my rapid weight loss... 117 pounds in less than 5 months...
  13. Sometimes I will have a yogurt or a cheese stick.
  14. For me I can't do: anything too high in fat, corn, peas, too much romaine lettuce at once, carbonated drinks, regular mayo, omelette or fried egg, too much bread, too much chocolate. That's about it right now. I use a straw and chug Water. I chew gum.
  15. Pre op weight 375. Day of surgery 4-24-12 370 Today 9-16-12 259 pounds.
  16. I was 375. Got sleeved 4-24-12. Now I weigh 261
  17. Cool ranch Doritos and rice cakes. Screw you slider foods
  18. Thanks everyone! I feel better already! Next time I'm sneaking in something healthy in my purse!
  19. I'm at a ballpark and I ate a soft pretzel. All by myself. Over an hour. Why did I do that? It wasn't necessarily delicious... I wasn't necessarily hungry Five months out and still mess up. And I even know that "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels"
  20. Ok so I had the infamous three week stall... But I got over it. And when I get my period I dont lose as much But I have been stalled for like 2 weeks now and I don't have my period. I think my problem is not enough exercise and not being able to resist temptation as well I am almost five months out and down 110 pounds... But I still weigh 262!! Far from goal Any suggestions? Anyone wanna give me a swift kick in the behind? I feel like I should know the answer but can not enough Protein slow your weight loss? I prob get about 30 grams a day... I know... Bad
