Next goal is the NYC marathon in November. I've done several half marathons, but this will be my first full. Surgery 2 years ago and down 100 lbs! Let's see what happens -
Congrats all. I am also 2 years out. I surpassed my goal and just started training for my first marathon.

I'm also 2 years post surgery and only my dad knows (and my docs). I don't plan to tell anyone else. It's my business and I think that's ok. -
The benefits to a personal trainer for me (other than the obvious) is that it's a way to have some accountability. I don't want to pay all that money only to cancel or not use him. So, it's a motivator to get to the gym knowing he's waiting for me.

Not going to lie to you...I had surgery 2 years ago and I STILL miss my diet coke, but I gave it up and it's not worth the risk. -

Agree with other posters-- don't compare your results to others. I lost slow and steady. It's not a race -
Do you track your food/calories? I found that really helped me.

My port was really sore for 1-2 weeks after surgery. Totally normal.

Yes. I felt like I did 5000 sit ups, but it gets better each day.

I have this too, but I don't think anything changed after surgery. I think I just have poor circulation. However, in some cases it could be a thyroid issue.

I was nervous too. I was banded may 2012. For the 2 weeks before surgery I was excited and nervous and anxious and all those feelings. I felt good about the research I had done, and I'm aware of the risks. Now I'm 90 lbs lighter and still cannot believe it! -
smoothie or Protein shake sometimes work for me. It's hard in the morning.
