  1. Hi everyone...

I had my surgery on April 16th...I am down 27 pounds and have gone down 2 clothes sizes. HOWEVER' date=' I am on my 3rd adjustment and am still not sure if I have restriction. I know its a learning process and it takes time but to be honest I feel like the weight loss is so slow......VERY SLOW!!! Am I doing okay? When did people really start to lose? in between my 2nd and 3rd fill I only lost 2 pounds in 6 weeks...IS THAT NORMAL? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!![/quote']

Hey, I had my surgery close to your date and have stalled losing weight. I have 5 ccs in my band and I can tell. Can't eat fast and get hiccups if I eat too big a bite. I am following a low carb diet strictly and that is what makes it frustrating. I have lost maybe three pounds in 5 weeks since my last Dr visit. I am assuming this is a normal lull and we stick with it.

I don't feel I need another fill and will see how it goes this next month. Started at 308 and now 263 but that was pretty much my weight 5 weeks ago. Hang in there and circle back in a month and let's compare notes.

  2. FRUSTRADED!!!! Since my surgery on 4/20 I have lost 45 pounds. I am pleased with that but he weight loss has stopped. I had one fill to bring me to 5 ccs in June and due to my progress my DR doesnt think I need another. One month from my last visit and I haven't lost a pound and this is why I am frustrated.

I stick to a 30 carb daily maximum and many days I am at 20 carbs per day. I wonder if this is just a plateau and normal or I need anther cc of fill.

What is the thought of the group???

  3. Going into week 6 and just received my first fill of 3cc for a total of 5ccs. Put on liquids for 2 days, oh joy. My weight had actually stayed the same so I asked for a fill. I don't think my DR agreed but did it anyway. The only episodes I have had have been caused by eating too fast. I also could eat as much as I wanted so the band was doing nothing thus the fill. Will let everyone know how I progress.

  4. I kind of wish for the uncomfortable as I seem to eat whatever and it's ok. Just dry chicken has caused a little uncomfortable. I even can not chew to well but trying to remember but catching myself . I get the hiccups to sometimes. It's like one not constant when you get normal hiccups at least for me. I'm trying to stick to the high Protein and feel much better when on high Protein diet. Glad you are doing well.

Yes, my hiccups are short lived as well. I also have not lost any weight since all he liquid stuff on week 1 post. It's level.

  5. Going into week 4 and do fine eating. I notice when I eat too fast I get very uncomfortable. I am practicing eating slower and waiting to drink after each meal. I get the hiccups every once in awhile during meals and I never used to. Anyone else getting hiccups? All in all doing real good on low carb diet every meal.

  6. Hi everyone! I was also banded on 4/20/12. This has been an interesting process. As of right now since April 11th (pre-op diet) I have lost 18 pounds. I am trying to set goals for myself to help motivate myself.

As far my surgery' date=' I do believe I had a perfect experience. The only pain I experienced for 2 days was from the port, the gas pains hit me that Sunday. I was back at work that Tuesday. I had no appetite for over a week and was constipated. I am still trying to get my energy level back to normal and I still have pains from my port when I stand up. As far as the food, last week I went through the depression of I’m never going to be able to eat normal again. This week I am on chicken and tuna salad. I did cheat this weekend and had chickfila chicken nuggets. I felt very guilty, but it tasted sooooo good. I am back on the right track now.

I go for my first fill on Wednesday, I am very very very nervous, but excited at the same time. I do feel like my appetite is back and this weekend I kept testing myself to see what I could have i.e. the chicken nuggets.

A suggestion for any kind of Constipation is to use Colace. This is what my doctor told me to use, which was a life saver. This was not a heavy ex lax that made me stay home all day.

I can't believe you are getting a fill this soon. I thought we had to heal first.

  7. I had my surgery on 4/20 also. 1st week was a litte rough but worked anyway. The second week was pretty normal with eating nothing but Protein shakes, eggs and bisque. Third week just beginning and I have eaten fresh fish with no issue. I too have leveled off on the weight loss but not too concerned. I am only eating low carb and staying below 15 carbs a day. There is no restriction with the band and will try more normal food this week.

I do have a concern with my bile movements and have started taking my Fiber again to get more regular. Curious to know if anyone is having issues in this department?

  8. This is a great report and congrats. I am on my second week after surgery and doing good. Since my start weight I have lost 35 pounds. Hopefully I will be right with you in a few months and really sticking to the low carb diet even though I can't eat anything yet. Do you restrict carbs or food as your success factor?

My doctor s.ays as long as you lose weight then no need for fills. From the surgery I have no idea how many ccs are in my band if any. Any feedback would be great.

  9. I have issues with meat and fish. Last night ' date='for the umptieth time i had difficulties. i chewed a small piece of chicken ... it was moist. Like before i had awful pain and the feeling that i wanted to burp it all back up but so far ive never salivated or had the slime. Im so glad its not got that far. I cooked some lamb chops in the slow cooker two days ago, couldnt eat them either so this morning ive minced the meat down and added it to a lot more liquid. A Soup base, ive also added chick peas and some spices as well. it seems that im not able to eat meat yet... not as i would like to. i havent had a fill yet. i have my first fill on the 7th may[/quote']

Hey, I am on my second week and have been eating purée chicken, egg salad with no issues. Just curious to know what week you are on? On my 3rd week I was told soft food was the next step then chicken and fish the 4th week. Are we on the same plan?
