  1. I'm post op 1 month, ( sleeved dec 10th.) Healing up well, incisions closed. I looked down last night and saw stitches ( thread) popping out the side of the healed incision. No drainage, dry stitches. Has anyone had this happen? If so, do they need to be cut?

Yes!!!! This happened to me in three of mine! I pulled it out a bit and cut it with some baby scissors, I also got a staple out to! I think that's why it took so long for mine to heal and got a mild infection in my largest incision. But I healed with some antibiotics n so far it seems everything has healed up just fine

  2. As of this morning I am 50lbs down from my d.o.s.! I'm stoked!!!! To be honest o thought I would loose faster then I am since this Thursday I will be 13 weeks out but I'm still happy with at least 50* now for the next 50 to get into *one*derland :) please tell me it will be as easy as the first 50!!! Aaaand......17 lbs to go till I reach my 100lb loss from **my highest weight!

  3. I'm thinking about puting down my Deposit tomorrow with Ready 4 a Change. For a surgery date of jan 7th. Has anyone used this DR? And how was there Experience? Thanks for Sharing.

I went with ready 4 a change (alma). And Garcia did my sleeve. I would do it agian if I had to..... tomorrow will be 8 weeks out for me (surgery day 9/20/12) and im down 35lbs :) any questions feel free to ask!

  4. im still alive :) im not sure about anyone dying under his watch yet.... never read anything like that, he did my sleeve 9/20/12 and im down 35lbs since surgery day weight! i feel good. no complications as of yet, but the largest incision did start to get infected, and i checked in with my PCP about it, 2 days ago, since been on antibiotics and the incision is almost healed!

  5. Im doing good! the only thing thats been keeping me worried is that my insicions still are not completely heald up. 2 of the 5 are but the last 3 (the bigger of the 5) are almost heald but still got maybe a week or so to go. At this point i have no regrets or complants :) the service was VERY good. I schedualed with Alma with Ready 4 a Change. to be real honest i was sooo scared when they told me I was headed in for surgery within the next 20 minutes that I started crying my eyes out and told my husband that it was time for us to leave mexico and go back home to Alaska, but by the time they came back to wheel me in, I was ready. They were very comforting, and i am soooo soooo sooooooooo happy i did it! I am a complete baby when it comes to pain, and to my suprize, I really didnt have much pain at all! I did not use the pack of gas x strips that i brought with me - but i have heared these work wonders.... I was annoyed to walk, but i did it, even that did not hurt it was more that i was just tired. The staff was very friendly and attentive. So far NO complications that i have encounterd :) I still need to follow up with my PCP, but as of today I am 4 week and 3 days post op and I am SOOO happy about the weight loss. My heaviest recorded weight was 331 lbs, I was 315 the day i started my preop (2 weeks preop diet) , surgery day I weighed at 298 lbs and as of yesturday morning I am at 273 lbs. I have been adding more foods into my diet, at first I was on the liquids for about a week when i got home, then to full liquids, for the second week, 3rd week soft foods :) as of now, my forth week I still drink 1 or 2 protien drinks, string cheese, Soup, popsicals, deli meet, oatmeal, yogurt, eggs, turkey sausage (chewed up really well), mashed potatos, oooooh and my favorite is the rotisserie chicken i found at Fred Meyers or Carrs/Safeway (also chewed very well) I could not even think about pureeing meat so.... my only problem now is that I am constintly looking for different soft foods to try! I get soo excited that im able to starting eating food again! My recovery has been a blessing! I still try to be carful with the lifting and I have not yet been cleared for full workouts yet but in time I will start to get more of that in :) So far this has been a good experience! Good luck to you and CONGRATES on getting your date!!!
