5 Month Post Op Check Today

Thanks everyone. I'll work on the colas and will work on the exercise. Even if its just walking during my lunch. I do take depression medicine I just need to find another outlet for stress. I'm happy my daughter is possibly getting the surgery and she needs my help getting it through. I need to move over and be happy she is getting this chance. We'll see how this week goes.
  2. Well, today was my 5 month checkup. Down 106 lbs. Not exercising - I know I know. Not taking multivitamin - I know I know they are nasty. Asked to change from Prilosec capsule to something I can swallow. They said to try Prevacid otc. Asked if I'm drinking all my water....some times. Then the rest of my appointment was spent with them asking me questions about my daughter who is trying to have the surgery before January. Ok, I'm willing to help, but today was my day d***it. Yes, I had a horrible day at work. Didn't want to stay at work and didn't want to just come home and sit either but here I am. All started with some sorry bored person starting drama at work. People need to get a life. Quit starting problems between offices or quit and move on. So, this is my vent. Came home, ate about 7 little shrimps, and about 4 tsp of spinach from a can. As usual , I ate it too fast and now I'm miserable. I just can't eat slow. Not getting all my water in. Is this a phase of the sleeve that will pass or is it just me and my moods? Any advise appreciated.

5 Month Post Op Check Today

My calories are still low...not really trying to make them low, it just happens that way. I try to keep something to drink all the time. Diet cokes, Water, tea, anything. I still have the feeling of being hungry and when I drink, I'm ok. Congrats on the 70 lbs ! That is alot of weight too. Keep up the good work. Yes, I had a really rough time to start with but things have gotten alot better.

5 Month Post Op Check Today

Went down two more pounds this morning. I think I'm stressing mine off at work Work was better today though I was told I couldn't have gummies but yesterday the nurse said I could if I chew it to mush. I hated the protein drinks too. I never found anything I could handle swallowing. So, I've eaten alot of protein food like shrimp, fish, things like that. My calories are still somewhere around 600 and I'm hardly ever hungry. My daughter passed her pshyc eval today. Hopeful her surgery will be before Jan 1st. Thanks for all the comments, gotta go change my weightloss ticker now LOVE doing that.

    What If I Fail?

Im pretty much eating anything I want, drinking what I want and not exercising and have lost 106 lbs since May. You can do this. The thing is when you can have it, you can't have much of it because your stomach is so tiny. I drink diet colas and had club soda this week when I had the stomach bug. I know I need to exercise so I can tone but by the time I get home from my 8-5 job, clean house, cook supper, wash clothes and kiss the grandbaby, I'm worn out. I think I get my exercise just from my regular routine. Weekends I never stop. I am ALWAYS doing something. You'll be fine.

    What If I Fail?

    What if you don't fail?
  7. Wow, each doctor is different. Mine told me straws are out for good due to the air sucked in before the drink hits your tongue.
  8. When I'm done, I will have lost over 150lbs- give or take a little. I want to have my thighs, hips/saggy belly, and arms tightened. How long after I lose weight can I have this done and can I do it all at one time? I hope by getting my hips and where my belly sags tightened, it will pull my butt back up. I literally have NO butt anymore. Today I am down 104 lbs ....unbelievable. I still feel like I'm 338 in my mind. But the scales show 234 no matter how times I step off and get back on them.

    6 Week Stall

When I stall...its usually a week long. I noticed when I up my calories, it breaks the stall. Good Luck and congrats on your weightloss !!
  10. Try pouring your liquids in a small (tiny) glass or cup. I used a little measuring cup for a while. Or even like a slim wine glass. Something your mind associates with taking smaller drinks.

    Skin Removal Questions

I don't want t wait a year of ugly skin after going through so much to lose the weight. Why wait for the skin to shrink if you are going to remove it anyway?
  12. I was trying on clothes at Bass Pro in Memphis today and thought I'd take a pic in the dressing room. I can't wait to get in the 220's ~~~~ 235 tonight !!!
  13. I feel so much better. Sorry this pic gets so big when you click it...not sure why. I can't believe I was 338 in May of this year and now so close to 200 ! I hope to make it to 200 by January 1st.
  14. I have the "heart attack" pain every time I eat. I have always been in a hurry , eat and run and just can't force myself to slow down. I eat then sit and hold my chest for about 5 min. Horrible feeling. I've noticed its worse when I sit in the recliner and eat at night with my husband. The chair allows my back to bow out causing my stomach area to be more scrunched up. If I'm sitting up with good posture it doesn't seem to be as bad but still hurts.

    Why No Carbonated Drinks?

I was told the carbonation will expand in your stomach causing it to stretch. Which is what you don't want.
  16. I just weighed and I am down 100 lbs as of today. I am so excited and emotional all at the same time. I still need to lost another 48-50 for my first goal of 190 but I would like to stop at 170 . I can see this happening by Spring of this next year. My weight goes up and down and is very tiring on my will power but days like today make it all worth it. Thanks to everyone for all the encouragement . Oh and I ordered my first ever pair of boot last night !
  17. I have a follow up appointment with my Ortho doctor coming up soon. I was told I can't take inflammation meds or NSAIDS any more after I had the surgery. I'm having alot of shoulder joint pain, maybe from fibromyalgia and for a follow up where I'm trying to put off two knee replacements. I'm down 98 pounds since my last appt with him and hopefully will be down over 100 lbs by the time I get there...well i know I will be. Question is , what is everyone else taking for joint pain like this? I don't know what to ask for or even if I want another RX....I'm about drugged out !

    Afraid To Eat?

I went through the same thing. My dr said don't worry about it. Take your vitamins and eat when you can. Cream of chicken and cream of broccoli was good. I'd eat like three spoonfuls and was full. This will pass. Enjoy watching the scales go down. The weakness is most likely your body recovering from surgery. Try something like a slimfast drink. I added instant coffee to the vanilla. I couldn't drink much but what I did get down was good and gave me some energy.

    Fibromyalgia And Knee Joint Pain

Well, now I'm worried I won't be able to take anything and just deal with pain 24/7 for the rest of my life or until I agree to a knee replacement. I want to have the skin removal before I spend money on any other surgery's . I have at least 50 lbs more to lose...may try for 65 more depending on how I feel at 190 lbs. The books show my ideal weight being 170...seems like a long ways from where I am now. I just finished eating - well try to eat-. I just can't slow down and feel like I'm having a heart attack every time I eat which is making me dread eating anything. I got up at 6am today and didn't eat anything until 330pm because I knew it would hurt....and it did! Lean back hold your chest, squint your eyes hurt. UGH Any suggestions on training myself to slow down eating?

    Fibromyalgia And Knee Joint Pain

Thank you so much for the information. Now I have something to ask the Dr about. I have taken Tramadol before just just as needed. Never every day. I haven't heard of the others but I'll ask. I would love to find a liquid. Since the surgery I have a horrible problem taking anything pill or tablet form. It doesn't hurt....its a mental thing. I have to force myself to swallow. Sometimes they will set in my mouth until they are melting before I kick my foot on the floor and force them down. I used to take Celebrex years ago but had breathing problems when I was on it. Not sure if it was an allergic reaction or not. So , now I put it on my allergy list.
