Hello, I too was banded on July 20, 2012. I have 7 1/2 cc in my band. My biggest problem I am having is taking all of my medicines in the morning. After taking all 6 pills, it fills me up that I cannot eat anything. I am up at 4 am and dont eat any food till 8 am. Then I eat lunch at 11:30, Im usually not hungry. I know I do not get all of my Proteins in, so what can I do?
-
My first fill was Sept 5 and I got 6 cc. At this moment I feel like it is not enough cause I can eat larger portions and I don't feel satisfied. I go back in 4 weeks.

I took the total of 6 weeks off. My boss told me that I couldn't come back with any restrictions, so my dr office girls wrote the paperwork out for 6 wks off. I enjoyed it emencely. I am back to work now, and I find that I do have a lot more energy than before. My legs and feet hurt but that is not gonna stop me from taking the stairs whenever possible.

Had my fill today and was surprised how fast it took. I got 6 cc put in. It is weird drinking Water real slow like. I burp after every sip. I did something bad tho, I was so hungery that when I drank my Protein Shake I did not feel full and I ate 1/2 of a cheese quesadilla. That was at 12:30 and it is now 7:38 and I am so stuffed. Water does not go down. Went out for a mile walk, I do feel better. I promise I wont do that again.

But I am a Diabitic and I have to eat after giving myself a shot in the morning which is at 4:30 am. So I have to eat somethng even tho I am not hungery to keep myself from having my surgers drop drastically.

I just got banded this morning. To be honest I was to follow a pre op diet of 2 Protein shakes and a Protein non starchy veggy for dinner. Well I was struggling with it and asked a friend of mine (who we have the same surgeon) how she went thru it, and she asked me what diet) So I decieded to eat sinciablely but sometimes I had food I shouldn't have. I did following the strick liquid regimine the day before surgery and no food/water after midnight.
The surgeon had no problem with placing the band today. Rite now I am very sore and tired. Honestly I am craving a cheeseburger and fries from McDonald's. LOL But my liquids are going down with no prolem.

Hi there, I too am excited to start my new life style. I am schedualed for surgery Fri July 20. I will begin my Protein regimine on Thursday July 5. I will be off from work 4 to 6 wks. I have to be 100 % before coming back to work. I am on my feet all day and lift alot, so they won't let me come back if I can't do the work. So I will enjoy the time off.

I got great news today from BCBS of Illinois, that they said yes to the lap band, so next week I see my surgeon and then we schedual it to be done. Since my birthday is June 20, this is my gift to myself!!!! Yippie!!

I will be praying for you. I also believe in the power of prayer. I know it is frustrating waiting for word from the insurance companies. I too am waiting for word. We will get this done. I do have faith in that. Keep your head up. So what state are you from? Im in Illinois.

I haven't told my managers/boss at my work yet. I am waiting for the surgery date and then have my dr's fill out the medical leave papers from Human Resources, before I tell them. I am afraid they will do something to stall me from being off of work for the 2 wks. When they see the medical leave papers, they can't do much about it. Im sure I'll pay for it when I get back to work. I just know this cause I always get denied my vacation time every time since 2008. Alot of my co-workers are against this. They say I won't succeed. I am determined to prove them wrong. So I guess it all depends when and how to tell people.

Good Luck. Hope it is easy for you.

I live in Clifton, IL and I have BCBS of IL and will be having my surgery at RMC in Kankakee. Since I work at the hospital my insurance pays way better than if I go to a bairiatric clinic. I have my last visit on the 22nd, hoping for surgery in June.

I haven't been banded either, but I am now finding fault with my husband of 25 yrs. At first he was all for me getting banded, but now he seems to have changed his mind on the idea. I would love for him to do it also with me, and we could go thru this whole new life style together, but instead he keeps saying I don't believe you can do this. I asked him why he thinks this, all I get is a guilt trip. But I am sticking with my decision on this surgery. At least when it comes to "friends" do this to us, we can drop them a lot easier than when you are married to the "friend" who doesn't believe in you. Im not giving up changing my lifestyle and hope you won't either. Good Luck.

I too am working on getting the surgery as soon as possible. This August I will be married for 25 yrs and I wish I looked the same as I did when I got married. Back then I weighted 170, now I my weight is 250. It has been over 26 years since I was down to 145 and that was only because I was eating Nutri System food and did arobics 2 x a day 6 days a week. I will be turning 47 in June and hopefully my surgery will be the first week of June. This would be the best gift I have given myself ever. Good Luck.

Alex, I got banded July 20,2012 and I have to be honest I am struggling. The closest support meetings are over an hour drive and I really do not have the time nor the extra gas money to get there. I am finding it hard to navigate thru your website. I was thinking on getting a book that would help me thru all of my questions, menu's for the week etc... I wanted to know if "The Big Book on the Lap Band" that you wrote is the one that I should buy. I go to Curves, here in my town, and they are starting a 90 day program in January, something like Weight Watchers, which works with the exercise circuit. I am considering this. At least I will be going to weekly meetings and talking with people and it is only 5 blocks from my house. I know I am not living the banded way of life and I need to get on track. I have come a long way to give up. I seem to be an inspiration to others at my work. I work in Dietary at our local hospital. And I feel I am always being watched on what I eat. I have to admit that I throw up at least once, every day. So I would appreciate your comments as soon as you are able.
