  1. I'm so happy to see some not perfect dieters posting! Gosh I am fairly new and keep reading all these posts about how healthy everyone eats and all I could think is if this is how you really eat, why did you need a band and furthermore how can you be fat eating so perfect?? I wonder how many are telling the truth! Thank you thank you thank you!! I was pretty sure I was going to fail eventually because if I could eat like this all the time I wouldn't be fat in the first place! This is the best post I've ever read on here! Thanks for being real!
  2. Spa day... The works!!!
  3. My doc never had me do mushies. After my 1 week appt he said any soft food was fine and to work over the next 2-3 weeks to solids. He said bread was a soft food.
  4. As much as it hurts try the spirometer 6 or 8 times at least 2 or 3 times a day. I really think this helps in the long run. The first couple really hurt but it does get better. I really thought that was the worst part. I also had a sharp pain on my left side of my abdomen with this, it got worse with deep breaths. Just know that this time next week it will practically be gone! Hang in there!
  5. Carolina, I had the same shoulder pain. It's finally gone as of yesterday. I thought mine was because of a hiatal hernia repair but maybe it's just normal, pain meds and heating pads helped me... And sleep! You'll feel much better in a couple days! I used my spirometer even when it hurt... Seems like this would eventually ease it a bit.
  6. I was banded 5/29 and feeling almost normal today. This is really my first day with our a lot if tightness but I still feel it when I walk or am doing light chores. I'm thinking by 2 weeks it will be completely gone... I hope!!! I only took pain meds for 4 days and then to sleep for 2 more nights. Each morning I wake up feeling much better!
  7. Congrats Bunnies!!! That's great news!!!
  8. I was banded 5/29 and can say day 2 was mostly sleeping. I would say have a big container of your water/ crystal light near by and you will be fine. If your 13 year old is around I am sure he can help you getting things or call an adult friend or 911 in an emergency. I think you will be fine but of course you know your situation best. Good luck!
  9. I think we were banded the same day. I am doing tuna fish, hummus, ricotta cheese, oatmeal, I blenderized some creamed chicken, fish.. So far grilled catfish and tilapia, applesauce.. Hope this helps! I ate my tuna on a toasted sandwich thin today and it tasted great and I had no problems.
  10. My nurse told me to go and get it all out so she didn't need to do one! Love that nurse!
  11. Wooo hoooo! Isn't that a great feeling!!! Congrats!
  12. 4 bags, working on number 5!!!
  13. Oh... I got 2 levenox shots in the hospital, I bruised very easy at the injection sites, just FYI...
  14. Oh I am so happy to hear this! I've been worrying about you! Please take it easy and keep me posted as you feel like it. Try a heating pad gor your shoulder and many gas-x strips!!! This passes quickly, each day gets better!
  15. I was banded on 5/29 too. Had my check up yesterday and I was cleared to go on soft foods. No problems so far. I've had scrambled eggs, grilled catfish, Mac n cheese and tomato slice (no skin) and a couple shrimp (cold) with cocktail. These are pretty small portions, like 3 or 4 tiny bites but I'm feeling much better on food. I was allowed applesauce, oatmeal, soup, protein shakes and clear prior. My favorite shakes are premier protein from SAMs club/ Costco, love them! I bought the extreme whey from GNC, cookies and cream and vanilla flavor, cost over $100 for the 2 containers and they are ok... But the last thing I go for... More I feel obligated to drink after putting out so much $$$. They do have packets to try of choc and vanilla, guess I should have tried th first! I feeling good but lots of gas and some internal pain, kinda like things are trying to find where they belong, if that makes any sense. Hope you get all your answers at your appt! Keep me posted! Btw, I thought eating food would cause an immediate gain but suprisingly, I'm down 1.2 today. I'm not worrying about it a lot because I'm healing but it's always in the back of my mind.
  16. Oh mine is productive... I sound like a man after a good beer chug! It's disgusting, of course my teen son thinks its hillarious... If I hear " good one Mom" one more time.....
  17. BURPING! It doesn't matter if I drink something or have mushie... I am constantly burping. Is this normal and if so please tell me it gets better!!!
  18. Congrats!! That's great news!
  19. Same here... Was discharged at noon.
  20. Oh thank you for speaking up... I was getting tired of arguing with the pharmacist that he had to give me xyz drug because I someone else on LBT forum took it... You have probably saved my life!!!
  21. Yep... I was banded 5/29 and have it. Mine has actually sometimes gotten so bad that it feels like a "charley horse" in my abdomen. Doc said its because it is near the incision he did the majority of tha work and it may be sore for up to 2 months. Mine is worse if I don't get up and stretch regularly. And it is a pain!!!! Everything else(except that and port) are feeling great!! Hope you feel better soon!
  22. How many cups of romaine lettuce equals 100 calories??? I'm pretty sure that would be hard to eat, at least in one day!
  23. Wow! That looks awesome! Great job on the weight loss too!
