  1. I'm neatnickk. I love MFP.. Started it 36 days ago and log everyday!
  2. Having the band with plication has helped my "hungry" tremendously! I have always been a "big eater" and am shocked by how little food makes me full. I had my first fill today and was explains to my doctor that this is the first time in my life that I feel like I eat normal/ small portions and am very satisfied. I don't have an urge to snack anymore and typically by the time I realize I'm hungry it's meal time. There are still days where I want to graze but after a bite or two of pretzels or a protein bar I'm done. It's not magic, but it feels pretty close to it, at least in my experience! Good luck in making your decision!
  3. Yay! You will do great! Good luck!
  4. Ugh! Hit send by accident... Anyhow glad everything was good for you. How long are you on liquids? Mine is 24-48 hours as tolerated then mushies, etc... I think I'm more anxious about the liquid diet than the needle.
  5. I'm getting my first fill today. My doc does it under X-ray, but I don't think it's much different.
  6. Forgot to check in! Sunday weight... 239.9! Getting there slowly!

  10. BBQ chicken, no skin, corn on the cob, and 2 Jamaican Rum Creams.... This AM... Work out and get rid of the 1.7 pounds I gained this last week! Beach trip and 4th brought out the fat girl eater inside of me..., saying good bye to her today!
  11. Yes you can!!! Good Luck!!!
  12. Tilapia and whitefish are the best 2 non fishy fish If you feel you can have just a slight bit of fish flavor, grouper, monkfish and flounder are all fairly light tasting.
  13. YUM!!! Thanks for posting!
  14. My doc said 6 weeks or until all in idioms are healed. I was healed at 2 weeks but waited until 3 weeks just to be safe... It was hard because everyone else was out enjoying the pool each day but I wanted to make sure I was healed. Haven't had any problems.
  15. I had UHC last year and it was excluded by employer. I jumped through a bunch of hoops, but you can not appeal it because it isn't covered. Think about car insurance, if you don't have rental coverage there is nothing you can do to get your rental car paid if you need a repair. I was fortunate enough to realize we had another policy available that did cover it. Had to wait til jan 1 for that to change over but did pre op in meantime. I do not think you are a brat... It simply isn't covered, why go through it if you are going to pay yourself anyhow? The only option is to go to your HR and ask them to consider changing the policy or agreeing to cover yours. You must have facts on why you will be a better employee. Like less sick time etc... Good luck, but I say, after being through it, don't bother submitting! Good Luck!
  16. Do not complain and belittle the citizens who use the government programs... Complain to your senators, congressmen etc -and vote in the presidential election, make your voice heard nationally. This simply isn't the place for politics!
  17. I think fat=energy to be burned? Isn't that why our bodies store fat for "future use"? I have a lot of energy to burn, LOL! Seriously, I feel great. Had surgery 1 month ago today and do vigorous (elliptical and water jogging) 30-40 minutes each day and am super active all day long and have been eating 800-1000 calories a day and have no problems.
  18. Thank you for explaining that! I was wondering why I don't get any signals... That makes much more sense! I'm getting it, but it's definatley a learning process!
  19. I had to do 6 months for insurance (7 visits). Started in Sept '11 , office didn't submit til April. Had surgery May 29. I think my process was a little longer than most. Good Luck!
  20. Thanks Honk... That's what I thought, but good to hear it from someone else
  21. Executive decision was done for today... Bed soon! Night all!
