  1. I had a bad reaction too... My doc put a patch behind my war and ordered phenigran and zofran. I felt much better the next day and no problems since. Are you at home or in the hospital? Hope you feel better soon.
  2. You are a gorgeous girl! You will be fine, relax and let the docs do their job! Congrats!!!!
  3. I was banded 5/29, a week ago today. Each day I felt better but honestly the first 3, I mostly slept. I had a hernia repaired too and had some pain in that area. Today I am feeling my h better. I went for a 30 min walk this morning, came back, showered and dressed and am needing a little break right now. I am sure I could go to work if I had to but having said that I would want a few more days. I am still having some gas pains and being on full liquids this long makes me a little weaker perhaps? I did 5 days pre-op and now 7 post. I hear energy improves when we hit mushies! Goid luck and get some rest and take it easy... Except for walking!!
  4. Well it sounds like we are about the same. I was just wondering because I wasn't sure if I was supposed to have that much at once! I keep reading on here that it's a learning curve... I'm trying!!!
  5. You will do great!! You might not think it for the next couple days but I am one week today and swear I feel almost back to normal! No need to be nervous, you have done your research and have a great surgeon and team taking care of you!
  6. Yay! Shy that's awesome weight loss! Yes we all have our own pace and different starting points. I've always drank alot of water so that isn't hard for me but I feel like I can still consume a lot. Like I said a whole packet of oatmeal... Well almost a whole one, and all liquids seem fine in all quantities. Are any of you finding it hard to get food/drink in because it's too much to fit?
  7. Yay!!! Can you believe that its finally here? I was thinking you were yesterday and anxious to hear from you! All will go great and I am praying for ya!!!
  8. I am... Baldwin County... You?
  9. I really had no choice because I wouldn't be at kids activities, bible study, volunteering at several things I do each week, so I talked to my surgeon and that is what he suggested. I suppose I could have offered no explanation but I feel like I owed these groups or people taking my kids places and filling in for me because I can't some type of explanation. Good luck!
  10. Oops hit send by accident. I was wondering if you are able to eat/drink much. I'm just wondering if the plication is working, I can't tell.
  11. Bunnie... I am happy to report that I am down from 262 to 245 as of today. I had a 5 day full liquid pre op that I lost the first 8.5 on and another 8.5 since surgery last Tuesday. I am wondering if I should be doing more? I've pretty much just done a little walking, a lot of napping and some reading/tv. My family is taking care of everything and telling me to just rest. I am slightly sore but thinking if I got out I might have a little more energy? Any thoughts?
  12. Hi JJ, Yay for you! I was banded 5/29. The recovery is a little more than I expected but really feeling better every day! You can do this! It is a big step but having all of the support from this great site is phenomenal! The members here are so kind and answer questions for all of us newbies! Congrats again!
  13. Best Wishes Missy!!
  14. That is awesome!! Congrats!
  15. Only my immediate family knows. Anyone else that will know I had surgery since I can't do all of my normal activities, I have told I had my gall bladder out. One friend who brought my family dinner asked about how I was healing etc.. And I explained that having this surgery is a big wake up call for me and I plan to use it as a motivator to lose weight as soon as I'm healed. It's common to be on a liquid diet before and after gall bladder surgery. So I know I'm not being truthful but I'm much more comfortable that way. Just remember you can't untell.. So please think long and hard about who you tell. Good Luck!
  16. So excited for you! Best wishes and prayers for you!
  17. Btw.. Getting 2 protein shakes a day, finally, 4 oz soup, water, crystal light and pipsicles are pretty much all the food I'm eating
  18. I'm allowed protein shakes, any soup that's blended and yogurt smoothies, and then Popsicles, crystal light, etc The soup makes it so much better! So excited its your turn!!!!
  19. Im banded with plication. When I started I thought I was going to get the sleeve but my insurance requires a bmi of 50 for sleeve. So I had to choose between bypass and band... Bypass scares me! I really am glad that I have the band. I feel so much better today, maybe tired still but much better on the pain. Thanks for responding!
  20. Ok so far so good... I'm waiting and drinking lots of water. I hope I didn't hurt anything. I'm feeling so much better I completely forgot... I know that sounds weird, old habits will be harder to break than I expected
  21. Had surgery 5/29. Still on full liquids. I can have any blended soup so I made homemade veg beef. The roast was done and cooled and as I pulled it apart I mindlessly ate 2 shreds... Ya know how when beef roast falls apart they make shreds... Well I ate 2 at the same time and really didn't chew well. I was tasting it like always to see what spices I need to add. What should I expect. Will I be ok? Do I need to call the doc? I'm very worried!!
