  1. KAH! , and anyone else, Add me neatnickk. I'm loving MFP!
  2. No, she said the band and everything above was fine. Her bottom stomach has flipped up, like a taco. It has nothing to do with the band. I hope you realize that when people share on here it is not to be " put off " by someone who feels they understand the situation without taking the time to really read through! Geez! She's looking for some help, not some curt response that doesnt address her issue! Please be more thoughtful in your responses
  3. Why thank you! Great job on your loss... I'm working 5 pounds at a time to 30. Someone posted about how many 5 lb bags of sugar have you lost... So I look at it that way. You have hit the nail on the head for me. After reading that I realized I stopped being hungry when I faithfully started exercising! I do 30 hard, excruciating minutes on my elliptical every AM... It kills me and I have to talk myself the whole way through, " you can't give up, you have to finish" I can't do much walking because of a bad case of plantar facitis, even after a cortizone shot and new orthotics... So the elliptical is better. I also do some Water aerobics each day on my own, but other than that, not much. I do not want to waste my work out on "bad" food.., so I'm thinking I may really be changing! Wow! Thanks so much for sharing that!
  4. Oops... Didn't mean to send yet,,anyhow Aubrey, did you have plication? @ daddy, I swear to you this has never happened to me EVER... Not being hungry is such a foreign concept, I'm in awe! Never imagined this could actually happen to me... I've read on hear about folks having trouble getting calories in but never imagined I'd be like that. I can tell you I was hungry the first 2 weeks after surgery and then something happened week 2 and I am no longer worried about my meals... Im usually planning etc.. Kinda lost my interest... Wow! I have been using My Fitness Pal... Love it! If you are on or join... Friend me, (everyone... Love more bandster friends!) I'm neatnickk on there. I like it cause you can view others daily eating/activity... Really motivating on the exercise side!
  5. @aubrey.. I had surgery may 29 and am down 21 total, lost 8.5 on 5 day pre op, so I'm 13.5 since
  6. Nope... Following dr's orders... Feeling fabulous! Just wondering if it's too good to be true. I am thinking the plication is really working as my stomach is now so much smaller, I guess I am just surprised how quickly I'm getting great results! I'm thrilled if I am not going to go through "bandster hell"! Just wondering if anyone else feels this so early?
  7. I am exactly 3 weeks out and wasn't sure the first 2 weeks that my appetite had changed, but all of a sudden for the last 5 days I eating 900-1000 calories a day and can barely get them in. I'm rarely hungry. I have been burning 500-700 calories per day through exercise. I do not have any fill, but have had 2 "stuck" episodes, chicken and the other was shrimp (I'm on a regular diet as tolerated) I'm not sure if it's the band or plication or both. Either way, is this how it works or am I going through some "phase"?
  8. Tried the raspberry yesterday... Loved it, but still like Mango better!
  9. Oh and this mango is great. My store had blueberry, raspberry and vanilla too!
  10. Wanted to share this with y'all! It's really good and perfect when you are craving something sinful! It's about identical to regular Greek yogurt but tastes like a good ice cream. I stick to the 1/2 cup portion size but am so happy to have found it. It was near the Ben & Jerry's ice cream in my Publix. B&J is making a Greek froyo too but only 6 g protein and higher calories. It was $3.50 each... Less than a trip to DQ and a lot more servings! Hope you enjoy!
  11. Ewwww! That would be weird!! You must be a really good friend!
  12. Sorry Donna! I wish it wasn't like this for you. I'm Day 17 and feeling so much better but that first week was bad. I was regretting doing it and thinking I can't believe I chose to feel like this but fortunately it goes quickly, but sure doesn't feel like it that first week. Second week is much better. I know I've read many posts about how quickly others healed and felt better, that wasn't my case. Day 8 I was much better but it took me until day 10 until I really was pain free completely. Hang in there, I sure wish there was something I could do for you! (((((hugs))))))
  13. No, but getting ready for a vacation and slightly worried about it... Thought if I read any one's bad experience would help keep me in check!!!! I love all you, so honest and helpful and thoughtful!
  14. Add me please!! Neatnickk
  15. Like stuffed yourself... Just wondering can that still happen and if you did what happened, ie sick, miserable etc....
  16. I use a $20 Weight Watchers version from Walmart... Works like a charm and always the same as docs. Have had it 2 years.
  17. Have fun KAH! I'm sure you will be a big loser on your vacay!!! Have a blast!
  18. I was banded on 5/29 and I have lost 19 pounds which is a little over 7%.
  19. I'm 2 weeks out too! Feeling great. It took me until today to be 100%, I think my hiatal hernia repair was partly to blame. I'm down 19.5 pounds since 5/29 . (8.5 pre-op) I went to lunch with the family today had grilled catfish and some green beans. I ate about 3oz fish and 6 or 8 green beans and I was satisfied. I walked 4 miles and hit my elliptical for 1 more. I think the hardest thing is the not drinking with meals, I really struggle with that. I'm hoping to really kick in high gear now that I feel better but can't wait to get cleared to do some weights for toning! I'm glad you are all well and hang in there Melinda, we are just human. I'm sure you jump right back in!
  20. I cook for my family and am not going to cook separate meals for myself so I am tweaking old favorites and coming up with meals that we all will eat. This is a super easy and great for us banded too! 4 frozen or fresh chicken breasts 1 jar salsa of your choice 1 can black Beans 1 can corn Place all ingredients in crock pot. Cook on high for 6-8 hours. Place all in a ninja blender or food processor ( I do 2 batches) and chop. My family eats this for taco filling. Top as you want. I have 3 oz. topped with some avocado. It's all I need and do yummy! If anyone has a family friendly recipe, please share it!
  21. I hate to hear that... I think that is do frustrating. I have BCBS and my approval didn't even take an hour... I was ready for a wait but surprised. I would call BCBS everyday til I had an answer. Good luck
  22. Me too! My surgeon is William Richards, recognized in US News & Workd Reports as "America's Top Doc" in Bariatric surgery, preformed over 1000 LapBand surgeries, 0 slips, 0 erosions and 0 loss of life during surgery... I did my homework and trust my doc... Wish everyone would stop acting like they are the experts on what I am directed to do! Each person does as they are instructed and don't need do many bystander bodies questioning it because it was different than what they were instructed! Perhaps new information is available and not all the docs have updated yet???
