  1. It depends on how long it takes you to get labs, EKG, blood work, etc., done. They also put you on a food plan and monitor your progress. It took me 5 months because I postponed my first surgery date but a friend that I recommended had her surgery after 3 months. It really depends on you.
  2. Yes! It has been an excellent experience. You'll be in great hands!
  3. I was given blood thinners after surgery. I had to administer three shots a day for 14 days. So far, so good.
  4. Praying for your speedy recovery! I was sleeved on Nov. 20th. I was given heparin shots while in the hospital and I have to take heparin shots three times a day. I dread every moment of it, but I'm scared to death of blood clots. My surgeon told me that the shots don't guarantee the a blood clot won't develop, it just minimizes the chances. Good luck to you.
  5. I'd like to join the group! I'm in Southeast Chicago. I haven't been sleeved yet. I go for my first consultation at LifeWeigh Bariactrics tomorrow.
  6. That's wonderful! Congratulations! My consultation is on June 4th. Thanks for the feedback!

I got a referral from my PCP two weeks ago. I have BCBS-IL too. How long should I wait to hear back from the insurance co. I have a BMI of 43.
  8. Do you have Blue Cross Blue Shield? If so, how long did it take for insurance approval?
  9. As anyone been sleeved at LifeWeigh Bariatrics in Illinois?
  10. Yes, but it's very general information. I wanted to chat with someone who can give me insight on what to expect. Thanks!
  11. Has anyone been sleeved at LifeWeigh Bariactrics in Illinois? My doctor just sent them a referral for me to get sleeved there, but I haven't seen any info about them in the forums. Please help!
