1. I don't think this is gross at all. I think it is a good reminder. You wore them for a few hours and you are only putting them on to test progress. I am keeping my surgery day out fit. It was all knit so I am not worried about the wash, but that is what I am wearing every time I step on the scale so I can't make the excuse it was the clothes or not the same. Of course until they just drop off my body LOL!!
2. I have two more days till I get to my Phase 2 which includes scramble eggs, re fried beans, yogurt, cottage cheese, etc. However, today I feel more hungry than I have since I started the 2 day of pre-op liquid only diet. Today I found myself having more calories than I have since I started: 570 / 61 grams of Protein. I am worried because I am not figuring out the first sign of fullness and don't want to make things worse for myself. Does it get easier to tell when you are full when you are eating more regular foods? What cues can I take? Any light you can shed would be more wonderful Melissa

Not Enough Calories?

Today was physical hunger. I guess because it is the first time that this has happened since I started this journey; I got scared. Thank you the weight loss has been a long time coming. My Heaviest was 330 and lost 24 pounds before surgery. My doctor was trying to get me to be a candidate for a new procedure. From 2 days before surgery till now was the 15.5 lbs. I am afraid to see if anymore has come off. I think that might be why I got scared when I got physical hunger. Thank you for sharing your experience, PonyUp, it helped a lot

Not Enough Calories?

Thanks, Ponyup! I feel better. Did you get hungry when you were transitioning from full liquid to soft / pureed food? If so does that stop when you start actually eating?

Not Enough Calories?

I am in the same boat. I am 9 days out and I don't know if I am getting enough calories but at the same time today is the day that I am starting to feel more hungry and that worried me. I got up to 570 calories today on creamed soups and protein drinks. I did however, get in 57 grams of protein when my doctor wanted at least 40 so that is successful.

Beautiful Picture!! You are doing wonderfully
7. I found a heavenly product at Rite Aid. They are Proasis Protein Shots. They are 2.9 oz with 120 calories, 5 grams of sugar, but has 25 grams of protein!! Yay! I love them because it meets all the requirements my doctor gave. I am cutting it close to the sugar but I am watching all intake. The best thing about it is that it doesn't take that long to drink. I hope this helps. I have found as my little life saver
8. Chris, I think it would be very helpful. I am not very confident with a group class or a trainer that doesn't understand me. I would agree on don't forget where you were at one time, it will help you relate to your clients on a more personal level
9. I am a Mexican Food Lover as well. I can't wait to get to the stage I can have little as well. I am glad that it came out as good as you hoped.

Gas Pains!

I couldn't agree more... walk, walk, walk. I just had my sleeve done Monday 4/23 and am starting to feel like my old self again ( lighter though lol). I only get gas pains now when I drink too big of a gulp or too fast. Give yourself till day 4 if you are walking. The regret phase will soon pass as much as the pain leaves your back, shoulders, and stomach. You will also feel a lot better when the drain pump is taken out.
11. that is wonderful you were able to push ahead. We all have to keep the eye on the prize. I have 3 days left of full liquids and then I can move on to mushy food.
12. I sleeved on 4/23. I am not hungry since I am full liquids According to to my log, I was 250 Cal yesterday and close to 500 today. I got in all my Protein and close to all my liquids . I can't wait until I can have yogurt, applesauce, and other things so I can add to my food bank. I am looking forward to getting rid of shots I have to give myself though. My BMI was 50 so I had extra to help in not to blood clot with these shots.
13. Lisa, It is alright to be worried. I sure was. For the pre op diet depends on your doctor. I bought pure Protein shakes, injury powders, tomato Soup, and the creamy chicken soup. I liked the Campbell soup at hand ones. For the pre diet I would suggest gum to chew if your mouth needs to chew. I hope this helps a little
14. I went to my post op class and drain removal. My pain is minimal . It was less once the drain was removed. I am still having a hard time getting in 40 grams of protein and the 64 ounces of liquids. I am trying some new drinks to see if that helps. Does any one else have this problem? If I drink to fast my chest and stomach hurts.
15. I just got home from the hospital. Karen you are right, I had my first bowel movement and it took a lot of the gas away. The hospital was wonderful. Now time to make sure I continue to drink and start my protein tomorrow. Good luck everyone
16. I am getting excited!!! I am scheduled tomorrow at 3:30 pm. The pre-op diet is going well. I am having a hard time getting in all 40 grams of protein. I am just not that hungry. I am nervous about tomorrow though. No water or anything after 8 am. I live on water. I wish every luck that is scheduled for the rest of the month. I know we can do it!! It is a tool to help us with the rest of our lives
17. I am so glad that I found this site. I am scheduled for the 23rd. I still don't have an arrival time at the hospital so that makes me a little nervous. I had my final appointment with Dr. Billy on this past Tuesday and that is when he wanted me to start a pre op diet. So far so good. I have been filling up on water and chewing sugar free gum. I hope that I can get a little more weight down so that he can do the spider technique. thank you all for your support and suggestions. It has been a great help
18. I completely understand. I have had 3 hernia repairs and 1 ovarian cyst removal. I was concerned as well. Like you I am looking forward to a healthier me
