laid off... lost my insurance.... want to find a dark corner and cry. I'm almost 4mo postop but lots of complications.. idk what to do. Worried enough how to make the mortgage, utilities n kids. No money for doctors. Never felt quite so lost.

I was reading in another thread that keeping your skin well-moisturized can possibly help lessen (not prevent) sagging skin. I'm all for trying anything to help - especially something that simple. I'm still pre-op but I'd like to get started with hydrating my skin now so it can be in the best shape possible for my post-surgery life.Does anyone have any lotion/cream recommendations? Anything that you think worked really well for you?
Thanks!
Anything with collagen. I use st ives skin renewing for my body and st ives timeless for my face. Both are inexpensive and have collagen elastin.

I was losing a lot about 2 months out.. handfuls at a time. I have (had) very thick hair so no one has really noticed but me. Then I started using Fall Fight Shampoo from Garnier... it has Biotin in it and isn't expensive at all... can even get it at Walmart lol. Used to use salon shampoo (Redken) but when I started using Fall Fight I swear I'm losing less. Idk may be my imagination but sure seems to be helping... and hey, can't hurt right?

I was sleeved july 18 I am down 45lbs. I still can't.eat much so i thought i would have lost more weight. Eating is not fun anymore in a way it kind of hurts.
I am having the same issue. I thought I would have lost alot more by now- sleeved July 17. But I'll take my 50!! Still painful to eat... not in my stomach, but in the back of my throat, food just doesn't want to go down. I had it checked thinking I had some kind of obstruction but after a CTScan, sonogram and a sadistic doctor ramming a metal rod up my nose & down my throat (worst pain EVER), they couldn't find anything. Still having trouble drinking too- Water & milk both make me nauseous now- used to LOVE them. About the only thing I'm able to tolerate well, and have become addicted to, is shaved sno-cone style ice. I crave it like nothing I've ever craved before. I can think of worse things to crave!!

Celebrating me being in onederland now :-)
Congrats!!!!!! What's your total weight loss? I'm a ways from onederland but lost 50 so far :-)
-
Ok july sleevers... we are now 3 months out... post updates!!! Problems? Weight loss? Celebrations? Let's share!!

This may sound candid but yes I have... in fact I've been on the toilet for 3 days with the cramping pain I also have diarhhea...
-
Are you having a bowel movement on a regular basis? If not' date=' it could be backing up in your stomach and be causing the uncomfortable pain.[/quote'] -
3 months out and I have the worst cramping pains ever. I know its not a "monthly thing" because I had a hysterectomy years ago. I don't think its gas because gasx isn't touching it. The pain is so intense I can barely function. Anyone else? What helped?
-
Never thought of ice. I've never been a big ice person before' date=' but I will try that. Thanks![/quote']I wasn't either... still can't stand to chew ice, but a big bowl of sno-cone shaved ice w a spoon really hits the spot. U can also find sugarfree snocone flavors if u don't like the ice plain... not as refreshing that way to me but my friend prefers it. She even gets Protein drinks to flavor them with for an xtra boost of Protein.< /p>
-
Also... the cold of the ice is so refreshing and now I crave that more than any food!
-
I am also always very thirsty... I loved Water preop but now it just won't stay down... so I got an ice shaver and now eat tons of sno-cone like ice and love it. I can eat a whole tray of ice a sitting... def helps w the water intake!
-
Wow thank u all for ur support and encouragement. I love this site and the people in it :-). I have been trying to get the Protein in but its been tough. I ordered some unflavored so I can start mixing it with everything. I also can't seem to keep Water down... so I crush ice like a snocone and eat it constantly... usually an entire ice cube tray a night. I will keep on it, have a better attitude and come here often.... yes, we will succeed together! Thanks again... all of u!!

Surgery was July 17. I see others losing sooo much more while I am already stalling. I know I shouldn't be comparing but I am so frustrated. I also know 35lbs is a lot and wouldn't have lost it without the sleeve... guess I'm just expecting too much.

That would be fun :-)

I live outside Ocean City, MD in Berlin. Was sleeved August 8, 2012
hello neighbor, lol. I'm in the same area... Did McCullough or Sofronski do your surgery?

My surgery was 7/9 & I'm in the hospital right now writing this. I have developed a bacterial infection in my colon & have C diff.. I went to the ER last night cuz I have had difficulty eating & drinking anything. I felt I was dehydrated & was hoping to get some fluids. They did ct scans & said my surgery looks good but may have picked up the infection in Mexico.
I have such a hard time getting food & fluids in! I know exactly how you feel. I Am hoping things improve for you & me..
Take care.
How are you doing now??? U are in my prayers....
