  1. I get the same message on mine. I think they base everything on a minimum 1200 cal diet. I just ignore it and go with it.
  2. Thats amazing. You should be doing a happy dance. Rock those jeans too!!
  3. I had liv active chocolate swirl pudding. It is tastey. I found a light banana cream pie yogurt too that was good.
  4. This too shall pass. It does get easier each day. You will maybe find yourself not thinking so much of food, but more of why you might have wanted that food to begin with. It was very eye opening for me personally. Good Luck, stay strong and fight the good fight.
  5. If you are still taking any pain meds, that too can kill an appetite.
  6. I had a 5 lbs weight change in 3 days. I was 253 on Tuesday morning, Wednesday morning I was 258, and then yesterday morning I was back to 253, go figure. It could have been Fluid, as I think that may have been what mine was. I had not drank enough Water on Tuesday. The more you drink the more it pushes thru your system. You could have had something the days before with more sodium in it and cause retention. Just a couple thought I would throw out there. Hang in there and good luck
  7. Many hugs and prayers. You will not believe how fast the surgery seems to go. Stay strong
  8. Wow, I hope they still have an iv in you for liquids that way. Can they give you one of those sponge pops? I had those when I was in the hospital after my c-section. That way at least you could get the inside of your mouth wet.
  9. How many weeks post-op are you Terry? I am only 8 days and was kinda scared to add them to my soft food diet for fear of not going thru well.
  10. I had regular instant oats every morning on my pre-op diet. I am not sure I would eat them right now just after surgery. They seem like they might irritate an already irritated and swollen stomach pouch.. I am sure I will add them back in once I am out of the healing process. I love oats
  11. I think that is what I have been kinda confused about. Do we measure out our food and just eat what is measured; or do we measure out our food and just what ever we get in 20 minutes is what we get?
  12. I mashed and mashed and stirred and stirred for like 5 minutes when I put the mayo in. I also did not take a bit any larger than my thumb nail and chewed like there no tomorrow. These are all of the things I have been reading on here so I wasn't taking any chances right out of the gate. If you don't care for mayo, do you like ranch dressing? I used to have tuna and a bit of ranch dressing mixed before I had surgery. It makes for a different taste and adds some much needed moisture.
  13. One thing I have been noticing with the progression is that the feeling of satisfaction is not immediate, it is coming about 10-15 minutes after I finish eating. I have always heard that before but could never get there without having two bowls of this at dinner or a couple plates of that. I saw a topic the other day on soft stops too, and I have also noticed that after I stopped eating anything I have hiccup/burp. I did it a few nights ago with some soupy mashed potatoes and I did not listen to my body and I was in misery for hours after. I finally went to bed just to go to sleep so it would stop hurting. Hopefully I will not make that mistake again.
  14. I felt like a martian or something eating food for the very first time. I wanted to make yummy, nummy sounds but was afraid my husband would have thought I had lost it or something. Didn't want him to think I liked my tuna more than him, hahah
  15. You look amazing. Congratulations on all your hard work. Keep it up I can not wait till I can say I am there
  16. I am 8 days (tomorrow) post-op and have been given permission to start back on some soft foods. Tuna with a little light mayo in it was an approved meal. I mixed some up while I was making dinner for the fam. I have to say that was the best 1/2 cup of tuna salad I have ever had. I know it may sound silly but it is so true to a newbie. It felt good to actually chew something instead of just letting it slide down, lol. I chewed so carefully and enjoyed ever moment of it. I think I may try an over easy egg in the morning. I like the feeling of being full on a half cup of food and not a thanksgiving feast. So far I have not had one ounce of regret that I made this decision to have the band. I was so nervous and worried this time last week that I was making a mistake. Regardless of what anyone else that I have told thinks of this choice I know in my heart and mind that this was the right thing to do.
  17. HAHA . My husband just tells me more room out then there is in.
  18. TMI, but too much protein "backs me up" Sorry I know its not the answer you were looking for, just saying, haha.

  22. I would love to add you. If all of you don't mind I will add all of you. BTW, I am broush23
  23. It may be from the anesthesia. I know they told me that I needed to cough before I left the hospital and to keep trying to cough for a few days after. Not to be gross, but I finally had stuff break lose and come out. I would keep trying to cough the best you can, it will also work your lungs and prevent pneumonia from setting in. Don't forget to get up and move around as much as you can, as the pain will allow.
  24. I bought the starter pack also. I have tried all of them but the chicken flavor ( kinda nervous about it). I DID NOT like the plain Protein from the moment I opened the pouch. It smelled too much like baby formula for me to use it, and no I didn't try it plain, I tried to mix it in some warm oatmeal.) I just couldn't get past the smell, reminded me of baby puke, sorry. I love the other flavor though. especially the chocolate splendor, with decaf coffee mixed in, yummy! Good luck, hope you enjoy!
