  1. You have done some amazing work.
  2. I get the same message on mine. I think they base everything on a minimum 1200 cal diet. I just ignore it and go with it.

    First day of preop

This too shall pass. It does get easier each day. You will maybe find yourself not thinking so much of food, but more of why you might have wanted that food to begin with. It was very eye opening for me personally. Good Luck, stay strong and fight the good fight.
  6. If you are still taking any pain meds, that too can kill an appetite.

5 weeks post op and ive gained

I had a 5 lbs weight change in 3 days. I was 253 on Tuesday morning, Wednesday morning I was 258, and then yesterday morning I was back to 253, go figure. It could have been Fluid, as I think that may have been what mine was. I had not drank enough Water on Tuesday. The more you drink the more it pushes thru your system. You could have had something the days before with more sodium in it and cause retention. Just a couple thought I would throw out there. Hang in there and good luck
  8. I will have to try them. Thanks

Many hugs and prayers. You will not believe how fast the surgery seems to go. Stay strong

    surgery yesterday

Wow, I hope they still have an iv in you for liquids that way. Can they give you one of those sponge pops? I had those when I was in the hospital after my c-section. That way at least you could get the inside of your mouth wet.
  11. How many weeks post-op are you Terry? I am only 8 days and was kinda scared to add them to my soft food diet for fear of not going thru well.
  12. I had regular instant oats every morning on my pre-op diet. I am not sure I would eat them right now just after surgery. They seem like they might irritate an already irritated and swollen stomach pouch.. I am sure I will add them back in once I am out of the healing process. I love oats
  13. I think that is what I have been kinda confused about. Do we measure out our food and just eat what is measured; or do we measure out our food and just what ever we get in 20 minutes is what we get?
  14. I mashed and mashed and stirred and stirred for like 5 minutes when I put the mayo in. I also did not take a bit any larger than my thumb nail and chewed like there no tomorrow. These are all of the things I have been reading on here so I wasn't taking any chances right out of the gate. If you don't care for mayo, do you like ranch dressing? I used to have tuna and a bit of ranch dressing mixed before I had surgery. It makes for a different taste and adds some much needed moisture.
  15. One thing I have been noticing with the progression is that the feeling of satisfaction is not immediate, it is coming about 10-15 minutes after I finish eating. I have always heard that before but could never get there without having two bowls of this at dinner or a couple plates of that. I saw a topic the other day on soft stops too, and I have also noticed that after I stopped eating anything I have hiccup/burp. I did it a few nights ago with some soupy mashed potatoes and I did not listen to my body and I was in misery for hours after. I finally went to bed just to go to sleep so it would stop hurting. Hopefully I will not make that mistake again.
  16. I felt like a martian or something eating food for the very first time. I wanted to make yummy, nummy sounds but was afraid my husband would have thought I had lost it or something. Didn't want him to think I liked my tuna more than him, hahah

  24. It may be from the anesthesia. I know they told me that I needed to cough before I left the hospital and to keep trying to cough for a few days after. Not to be gross, but I finally had stuff break lose and come out. I would keep trying to cough the best you can, it will also work your lungs and prevent pneumonia from setting in. Don't forget to get up and move around as much as you can, as the pain will allow.
