I chose Dr. Garcia because he has a hospital. I was treated like gold and the hospital is spotless. It is small but clean. I was worried about ansthesia due to previous gall bladder surgery and the trouble I had coming out of ansthesia. I explained this to Dr. Cordova, the ansthesiaologist (sp) and he put me at ease immediately. He gave me a breathing treatment before surgery and said he would keep a close eye on me. I did not have a stitch of problems. My friend is using Dr. Almanza, she will be in a clinic setting and at a recovery house. Dr. Garcia requires a 2 night hospital stay and then 2 nights they send you to the Marriott. All included in the price (also the night before surgery at the Marriott). I highly recommend Dr. Garcia and his staff, I am trying to get my daughter scheduled there also. I could not be happier. I am 9 days post op and as of today have lost 23lbs. 9lbs post op diet.

I am 7 days post op, surgery with Dr. Garcia. I stopped taking the pain meds the day I flew home. I took one that morning and have had none ever since I didn't need them. So I took pain meds for 4 days. I feel GREAT=)

Walk, walk, walk..... I am 6 days post op and I only felt crappy the first 18 hours or so. But I was up walking immediately and walked every hour or so. I never realized when I saw people recommending walking how much it helped. I have had 4 abdomen surgeries and never walked and felt groggy with severe shoulder pain. Not once have I felt shoulder pain or that groggy feeling. Just keep walking =)

LOL, I feel much better since I had some protien shake and I also had a small taste of unsweetened applesauce. It was sooooo good, and did not bother my new tummy at all=) I am just so worried that I will do something wrong and ruin the whole thing.... I LOVE food, I love to cook, I am a southern girl and cook that way. This is going to be more difficult than I imagined.
Keep in touch and up to date on your progress!!

Mela, What are you eating at this stage? I thought we were not suppose to feel hungry? I'm worried.....

I know the feeling, I'm 5 days post op and today I feel as though I'm starving. I can't stomach broth. I had about of an ounce of Protein Shake today, I don't think I was suppose to but I had to do something. I also have "head hunger", food just smells so good. I wonder if I am going to be able to do this. I was thinking about trying some mushies to see if that helps.

My surgery is scheduled for May 11, and I start my pre-op diet tomorrow. Protein Shake for Breakfast and lunch and a salad with Protein for dinner. 3 days before surgery liquid diet only. I am so ready to begin this journey. I have been researching for about 2 years. The sleeve was a natural choice and the more I read the more I am POSITIVE I made the right choice.

My coordinator told me previously that sometimes it takes 3 hours to cross. Now today she said the driver will pick me up at 8:30 or 9:00. I don't fly much, but I thought you had to be at the airport 1 hour before your flight?

I'm trying to book my flight and need to know how long it takes to get back across the border and to the airport?? Would a 11:45am flight be too early? My contact person at alighterme just gives me "that will be fine". I would like a little more information than that, so I am not worried about missing my flight.

I went thrrough Alighterme. Sandy is my contact. A coworker and I have been researesearching for about 2 years. Sandy did not ask for any money up front or anything unethical. Anytime I have a question I email her and she gets back to me within the same day. My friend is using Dr. Almanza.
