Hi Dorian! Thank you:). Yes is is an awesome feeling. It's still amazes me that the weight is coming off and I am more active than I've ever been. I have been talked into doing a half marathon this upcoming weekend so wish me luck! I'm enjoying this new life!

When I began to lose, I started shopping at a really nice thrift store, buy a few pieces at a time, buy your actual size so when you look in the mirror you can notice the difference. I noticed when I continued to wear my big cloths, I looked sloppy, you know what I mean. So yes, every 10 or 15 lbs you lose, buy that new size. -

I jogged for the very first time on the treadmill today. Jogging/running again is my number 1 dream, top of all of my WLS related goals. I seriously have dreams at night about being able to do this. I had to fight hard to hold back the tears, even now it is still pulling my strings.

Wearing a necklace bought over the counter as a gift from my daughter! I can't tell you how many dollar necklace I have in the bottom of my jewelry box because never could fit... Yesterday she came running and I was like sweetie you know that won't... In mid sentence she slipped it around my neck and clasped it and yes it does!!!!
And yes it does!!

Hello everyone! I'm band to bypass. I had my revision 5 months ago. I'm doing good. I'm down 67 pounds and a lot of inches. I haven't weighed myself in over a week and jeans and tops are getting looser so I've probably dropped a few pounds. I stall sometimes. I've experienced dumping so I try not to have more than 5 grams of sugar in any foods. I was planning on trying some Special K fruit and berries but now I don't know. If I do I'll keep you posted. Congrats to all those with your new surgery date!

You sound like me. I've lost about 67 lbs. surgery 8/26 and a few stalls but I can tell I'm steadily losing inches. I'm sure you are to so keep a track of your measurements! You're doing great!

So I've been on the scale lately and just documenting my weight and going on about my day. I hit 218 yesterday and losing weight has finally clicked in. I'm so close to onederland and I haven't been this weight since entering high school. It is so surreal! I have 73 pounds to my personal goal of 145 but I just thought it would be a fantasy because I didn't think I'd see the 100s ever again! Feeling so blessed and happy today!

Congrats!! I recently got rid of all my old clothes - so I know the feeling! So happy for you - I can't wait to be a size 10. I told the girls at work when I get to the single digits I'm gonna wear my clothes inside out so everyone can see my size lol so happy for you!

I know this is women's territory. But I'd like to share my own NSV, if I may. I was going through my old clothes, (mostly suit coats and sweaters), which I haven't worn for over ten years and found out they all fit! A couple of my suit coats could even be altered now to make them double-breasted! But my 19-year-old daughter saw me styling them and said "Ugh Dad, those are so '90's!" Little does she know they're actually '70's and '80's! Oh well, more donations for the thrift stores.

kparadisek reacted to AutumnPunkin in Has weight loss surgery made you rethink your career?
This is a very good post. I cannot say it made me change careers, but it was because of my career I decided to have wls. I am currently completing my RN nursing degree, and refuse to be a hypocrite with my patients. There is nothing worse than an obese nurse teaching an obese patient how to lose weight and the support network available. I aim to be an amazing nurse, as I am not in it just for the money, I genuinely want to be there for my patients as a valuable resource, and my weight hinders me from doing this. I hope that made sense.
