  1. ORIGINAL MESSAGE: Goal #1 HW 221.5 SW 210 CW 195.5 Goal 179.5 (16 lb loss, 4 lb/week) Goal #2 start Couch 2 5K in June and sign up for my town's 5K in September! RESULTS: Goal #1. CW: 183.5 - down 12 lb, 4 lb from goal. Goal #2. Starting week 5 of Couch to 5K & already mailed my registration for a 5K in September
  2. I had the roughest scaly elbows as well. I'm 7 weeks post-op and they are nice & soft Its not because of an increase in fat for me at least, I've been averaging 30-40 grams a day, and had way more than that pre-op.
  3. I'm a may sleever - melissadavon
  4. UPDATE: I am now 186, so I've lost 9.5 lb since the start of the challenge and I've got 6.5 lb left to make it to my goal and a week and a half to do it in I guess I'm actually right on target for the 4 lb a week loss. I had a 10 day stall in the middle of this, so that didn't help, we'll see how it goes by then, I'm probably due for another stall soon lol. Oh, goal #2 - I started C25K and just completed W3 D1 this morning and already sent my paperwork in for the 5K in September. Loving it! I'm almost 30 lb lighter than the last time I did C25K 5 years ago. 5. I am almost 5 weeks post-op and I only have about 5% of my closet left. We had a garage sale last week & I sold all my clothes for cheap. The rest went to Goodwill. I went to the last day of a church sale 2 weeks ago & got 3 huge lawn sized garbage bags full of clothes to last me till I get to goal. Jeans sizes 2-16 & shirts sizes XS-L. All for 6 bucks lol. Some of it is super cute too, I just can't imagine ever fitting into most of it. I separated it out into a "small" bag in the back of my closet, a "medium" bag in front of that & I washed all the 12's-16's to wear now I'm just lacking in XL shirts for right now.
  6. I'm going to Schlitterbahn Wednesday and I'm wearing a size 14 swim suit lol that was way too small last year. Not sure why I even had it, I maybe accidentally picked it up at a garage sale or something. Lucky me now though I have wore a 14 in maybe 12+ years!
  7. My first challenge as well. I'm 2.5 weeks out, so not sure if my goal is doable or not, but I'll try! Pre-op diet weight 221.5 SW 210 CW 195.5 Goal 179.5 (16 lb loss, 4 lb/week) Goal #2 start Couch 2 5K in June and sign up for my town's 5K in September!
  8. I'm not afraid of stall I don't think....I'm expecting them & soon too. I'm afraid of something more permanent. I guess, like a lot of us, I'm just afraid that this won't work for me & be just another failure in a long line of failures. No reason for it though. I'm doing great right now, it's just a worry at the back of my mind.
  9. Mommyinneed, no I didn't have an infection. I was just being a worry wart. 2 weeks out now, just started on mushies & doing great. I had my doc look at it and she said it looked normal and I said are you sure? Lol, I'm the type who needs something to worry about. I was somewhat dehydrated (from my trip home) which led to an electrolyte imbalance & low heart rate, but that was easily fixed with Gatorade & 100 oz of Fluid for 4 days straight. Now I'm just worried that one day this wonderful, wonderful weight loss will end & reverse itself like it has so many times before. It just seems too good to be true....but like I said I need something to worry about Hope you are all better, or getting there! That doesn't sound like it was fun at all.
  10. Have you tries eggs yet? We're going camping tomorrow & it's on my menu
  11. I've been thinking that as well. If every doc has a different plan, that tells me that no one really knows what is best, so why listen to one over another? I haven't started mushies yet, tomorrow was supposed to be my day but I'm thinking of trying some soft string cheese today, or maybe roast beef hash (been following The World According to Eggface's blog), we'll see. Everything so far has went down fine, but I've mainly been having Protein shakes, yogurt & milk. Seems to be the easiest way for me to get in my protein - I'm trying for a minimum of 50 grams a day.
  12. I guess I should say 4 weeks instead of 2 since that included pre-op dieting as well
  13. Doing great! Down from 221.5 to 197.5, 24 lb! Went from size 18/20 to a 16. All in 2 weeks today. It's amazing, I keep waiting to wake up from the dream & gain all my weight back lol but I guess that's never going to happen! And you? I know you've already lost 30+, maybe more by now. How's your food going?
  14. I was sleeved on May 15 & so far I lost about 12 lb pre-op & 2 post-op so 14 total. I got a little dehydrated while out of town & retained a lot of Water that I'm just now getting rid of. The dehydration (we think) caused a low heart beat - mine was rangin from 40-50 whereas normal is 60-100 (I'm normally in the 70's) and that was slightly scary, but I'm back up in the normal range now. I also think that one of my incisions is slightly infected, maybe a small absess underneath, but I'm seeing a doctor for that tomorrow & we'll see. Otherwise, I'm feeling great. I didn't realize how swollen up my legs were. They were skinny before, but now they are loose & even skinnier. My wrists are smaller and my face looks thinner My tummy is still swollen though.
  15. Ooh I have some PB2! Haven't tried it yet, but I will soon. Thx for the suggestion!
  16. I had surgery at Mi Doctor Hospital and yes in Tijuana. I liked everyone there. Two nurses stood out - Isabanna and Karen (if I understood them correctly). Yes there is a language barrier, but I had a lot of fun using my minimal Spanish skills lol. I was always able to get my point across. And if not, there's always Google Translate! They actually told me when I left - make sure you get your liquids in, we don't want to see you back here in a couple days for an IV. I guess I just wasn't paying enough attention, and I was kind of afraid of drinking too much at a time.... Now I'm counting every drop lol. I highly recommend them, I had a great experience there. Samuel the driver is super nice and although Meli & Rosie (coordinators) are very nice & speak excellent English, we found that we had to ask two or three times before getting something resolved (such as staying in San Diego our last night instead of Tijuana). Wasn't a big deal, I just prefer things to be done well in advance!
  17. The surgery itself was so easy, hardly any pain.... I'm a worry wart though and have been struggling with all the what could go wrongs lol since I came home. Most of it was just worrying (I went from worrying about pneumonia to pulmonary embolism to heart failure lol) however.....lol. I went to see my NP yesterday and I'm having a low heart beat (defined as less than 60, mine was 52). We suspect that I got dehydrated while I was traveling after surgery and I didn't realize it. She did an EKG and it was fine, but I'm going back Thursday to see the internal medicine doc. I super hydrated yesterday (almost 100 oz) and this morning my pulse is up to 60! And I'm starting full liquids today so that means I'm starting Protein, so I should start feeling better I hope When I got home after surgery (day 4) I had gained 11 lb over surgery day. This morning I am only up 2 lb, so that's good. However (I know I'm not supposed to compare!) I see my sleeve sisters & brothers having lost 5-10+ lb already and I'm just wondering why I'm still retaining Water and they apparently aren't. Oh well, hopefully I'm almost over this little hump
  18. Wow really Jeff? I'm still up by 8 lb!!
  19. Hmm, left it at the hospital, didn't know I was supposed to take it!
  20. I just took 2 puffs on my old inhaler for asthma & I'm breathing so much better. I had a bout with asthma (or maybe anxiety, not sure) for a couple of years a while back. Haven't used an inhaler in months or even years.
  21. I has surgery on Tuesday and felt great as of Saturday morning. Then flew home Saturday & was noticing some heaviness in my chest, minor difficulties breathing. I've been attributing it to surgical gas because it seemed to come and go (I assumed with the movements of the gas). Well now I've got myself all worried. I've been up since 230 this morning just worrying. Is this normal? I've read that anesthesia can cause a heaviness or tightness in your chest? Or gas? If my insurance would cover it, I would just go to urgent care or the ER to get it checked out. but they won't. I can go see my nurse practitioner at school for free Monday morning, so I think I'm going to try to wait it out till then. Any advice for me? Anyone else experience this?
  22. My surgery went fine, was feeling great Saturday morning before all day air travel, blah. Got home & have been having a heavy feeling in my chest. Hoping it's just anesthesia or surgical gas, but I just don't know. I've been up since 230 this morning worrying about it!
  23. Oops lol, I didn't have a revision, I just had the sleeve. I was looking at current threads on my phone & didn't realize!
  24. I'm 4 days post op & I'm up over 10 lb, back to my pre-surgery diet weight. Guess its just lots of hospital fluids, hopefully will go down soon!
  25. So it's normal to be retaining Fluid after surgery? I'm 4 days post op, took a plane home today and my lower legs are swollen. When will that go down? I remember after having babies, I had to sweat it out & it seemed to take forever!
