    Most Humiliating Fat Moment

My most humiliating time was when my new husband and I went to Cedar Point, an amusement park we'd wanted to go to for AGES. We were both roller coaster buffs. But unfortunately I was too fat to get on many of the extreme coasters. They had an employee posted at the entrance near the "test seat." We walked up and he stopped me and asked, "have you been on (this ride) this year?" I said no. He made me sit in the seat and I didn't fit. Humiliated, I agreed to wait with my husband in line, only to get out when we got to the top. The rest of the day was shot and we left early. I was glad one specific coaster was closed because I really, really wanted to go on it and couldn't stand the idea of being told I was too fat.
  2. I have had a difficult time with Protein, and getting what I need. My latest labs showed my protein was low. I try to eat enough protein but I honestly can't eat that much. An egg for breakfast (takes me about an hour to eat 1 scrambled egg, which is cold by the time I'm done) works well for me and keeps me full most of the day. I have to force myself to eat anything at lunch. And I agree, by dinner time I'm not in the mood for food. I will feed my child but I'm not hungry. I wish I could Protein shake it but I am so over Protein shakes. The nectar ones are still ok, but I'm just over them! After months of only protein shakes I can hardly stomach them. Truth be told, the normal protein shakes that are "creamier" in texture (choc, vanilla, strawberry) give me the slimes. Ugh. I am tracking it better on myfitnesspal website. I don't like that I cannot alter my calories, carb, and protein daily requirements though. Sometimes I feel like I eat too much. But I never eat enough to get sick so maybe not. I do sometimes eat too fast and that comes back to kick me BAD! So far I've got no regrets. I can eat most things, just not much of it! I do love sugar free popsicles, especially at night!
  3. My favorite brand is Nectar. I like the variety packs because I can mix it up. They mix well and have a lighter flavor to me than your standard protein shake mixes. They have 23 g of protein and zero carbs. I also like this protein drink called ProJoe. Very good coffee flavored protein drinks with 20 g of protein I think. Or maybe more. I'm about 7 weeks out and still need protein shakes to get my protein. I have a hard time getting in my water too.

    April Sleevers

I was sleeved April 23 and I am down about 40 pounds. I wish I felt good about it but I seem to have stalled at about 40 pounds now. I feel like I should have lost more by now. By surgey date I had already lost about 20 pounds so I feel like my post-op weight loss has been very slow.

    Gas And Diarrhea Issues ?

Oh no! That is one of my biggest fears. My sister and dad both had theirs out so I have already been fearful of that. I hope it works out for you. I too get very gassy and have diarrhea for no apparent reason. I was only sleeved 3 weeks ago so I'm probably still recovering. Best wishes. Stacie.

I Think I've Began To Mourn Food :(

I totally understand too. I miss food immensely! I'm still on full liquids so that makes 3 weeks of liquids so far and add another for mostly liquids prior to full liquids. I MISS CHEWING! I miss flavor. It's funny, I will be at a grocery store or out driving with someone and I'll say I want that, and that, and that, and that. I really miss pizza. My friend got chips and salsa and I started dipping my fork in the salsa just for the taste of salsa! LOL. I can't wait for the pureed stage. However, my desire for food scares me in that maybe I'll go crazy nuts when I can eat.
  7. Hmmm, my doctor did not specify the type of Protein that I have to have. Most of them are whey protein but the shots have whey, casein and collagen protein. I have a hard time getting in all of my protein so I'll keep using them as a standby. I had my 1 week follow up visit with the doctor and mentioned those protein shots, he didn't say anything. I'm finding there is a LOT of variance in what doctors require. A girl that had surgery a day after me, different doctor, was allowed to move on to pureed foods after 1 week. I was not so lucky. I'm winding down week two and can not wait until I can move on. It seems like forever since I have had any "real" food (pureed or not). About caffeine, my doctor's office has a line of Protein drinks called ProJoe. It's coffee with 20 grams of protein. I got 4 (two mocha and 2 chai). I thought when I got them they were named that way because they tasted like coffee but they have coffee in them. They are amazing and with 20 g of protein, super awesome. Isopure at GNC is also an amazing product. One bottle has 60 g of protein and zero carbs. I mix it half and half with Water so usually drink 1/10 of the bottle at a time. But the protein adds up.
  8. New Whey and Body Fortress both have protein shots. NW is 42 g protein 2 Carb. Body Fortress is 26 g protein I think. I haven't had the body fortress ones but new whey tastes awful. I split it up in shots of 12.5 ml each throughout the day. Can be a protein lifesaver. Special K protein water mixes gives 5g protein with 1 Carb and is really good.

    Feeling Indifferent

OMG! I am going through that too. Actually, I finally decided to say enough was enough. My boyfriend always seemed to find time for everything but me (especially work). He'd squeeze me in when it was convenient for him. The week of the surgery he took off the week to spend with me. However, after I left the hospital I never saw him. He was "busy" with other things. I finally said that I was not going to put up with it. I need to be important and valued in a relationship, and if post-op he didn't care he never would. He is overweight and said to me that he feared I would dump him after I got all "skinny" so maybe that was the problem. And although I'm only 1 week post-op, I have more confidence just from having the surgery- by taking that step. So, good luck to you, be strong, and I've learned that, for me, indifference means time to let go. Stacie
  11. What type of pain are you having? My only pain is from gas though I am sure that will go away at some point! My coworker used soda to get rid of it but of course we can't. I haven't taken meds since I got home for pain. I do have discomfort moving around and sleeping. I hope your pain stops soon. Stacie
  12. I left the hospital after 34 hours. I wish I'd have stayed an extra day. However, logistically was better for me to leave earlier. For R&R, calm, relaxing and getting used to the new you, stay as long as u can. Heck, where else can u rest and sleep all day with no one being upset by it? Congratulations!
  13. I had doubts and little support. I had to talk to my doctor on saturday it was so bad. Now i am 24 hours post-op and feeling ok. Very gassy n hard to get my fluids. What are your concerns?
