  1. Post op day 5. The muscle group under the largest incision is still in a ton of pain when I walk. Is this normal? I thought by now it would go away but it's not and even the liquid pain meds don't calm it down.

Anyone else have this issue post op?

Please move post to powder room!!!! Just kidding, pain is different for evry one don't compare or allow your doc to, call and get something stronger, demand it if you must !!

  2. I am 18 months have lost over 150,I had some nausea caused by Vitamins I didn't tolerate well early out, other than that no problems. I have complied with all medical instructions and adhere (gladly)to a very rigid eating plan. It's my observation that the vets who make drastic changes seem to have better long term results, I go to the gym at least 4x per week . Sometimes I want to pack it in and give up, then I realize... There are a lot of a-holes I gotta prove wrong!

    ABSOLUTELY NO REGRETS!!

  3. My name is Andrew and I'm new to this forum ....

I just attended my initial surgeon consultation' date=' expecting to get a lap band. My surgeon is recommending the sleeve over the band, due to my BMI of 53. However he made it clear that he will support 100% with whatever decision I make.

My hesitation is due to the added risks, especially after reading some of the nightmare stories in here about experiences of those with a leak. I know I have to do something, and although many have had positive results with the band, it sounds like it does require a lot of time with the ongoing adjustments and a reasonable chance of needing additional surgeries.

I do know a few people with the sleeve and both are doing fantastic, so that is very encouraging. I'm just hesitant to set myself up for a procedure that could result in serious potential complications with a long recovery time.

Hopefully I won't just put the subject of WLS aside, as I need to do something about my out-of-control eating and obesity.

    Thanks....

Andy, all procedures come with risk they are a "possibility" however obesity comes with risk and left untreated they are almost a sure thing! I would suggest you look at lap band revision to sleeve rates in places where they were being used before here in the USA , seems like in time they almost always slip, fail, erode! Good luck and keep asking questions!!!

  4. I needed 2 knees and 2 hips my ortho and md suggested losing weight for obvious reasons , healthy people recover with less complications and anesthesia risks are greatly reduced. Got my first hip replaced in jan. 13 months out from my sleeve I honestly can't imagine rehabbing +150 lbs. next hip is in sept. and after 2 series of hylagan injections my knees feel much better but still need replacing.
