  1. I love shrimp & this sounds so good... but since I was sleeved, I have a hard time eating shrimp! Anyone else have this problem? Eggs too...
  2. Not all are done through the belly button...
  3. I had 5 small incisions. The one just a few inches above my belly button is the larger one (about 2 inches now). I asked the dr about that one & he said that's where they remove the stomach. I was fortunate & didn't have to have a drain. My pain was minimal (mostly gas pain). Just over 3 months out & all healing nicely!

Sounds like you are doing good. The gurgles happen for a while. I'm 3 months out & my daughter can still hear the gurgles across the room...we just laugh! You will find that every day get a little better. My first 2 weeks after were liquid diet. I loved my chicken broth! Good luck!
  5. I think everyone stalls from time to time. Give your body time to adjust to your sleeve. The weight will come off. I have to exercise more after I get rid of this head cold! Good luck!
  6. My crunch was satisfied by whole wheat club crackers! Yummy...
  7. Wow! I'm not going to give you a big speech, you already had those previous comments coming! How overweight is your wife? If she is considering WLS, her weight bothers her. Maybe, just maybe... you don't want her to lose the weight. I know you said you want her to be happy & healthy, but threatening to leave her??? Shame on you! I thank GOD everyday for my SUPPORTIVE husband! :amen:
  8. Congratulations! That is FANTASTIC!!!
  9. I had very minimal pain... hardest part for me was not being able to sleep on my side.I never had a c-section, so I couldn't compare the two.
  10. I was 10/26.2011 also!
  11. I had a bite of peanut butter yesterday & burped it up all day! Drank a lot of water to push it through after I had a Gas-X strip! Felt much better after all that. But the other day, I was able to eat a few peanuts & they didn't bother me at all! It's a live & learn process!
  12. Lissa is right... just explain to the older ones you have a sore tummy. I did that with my granddaughter. It worked great & she understood. Now when she plays in "her kitchen" she makes all my food fat free & sugar free! LOL!!!
  13. I was lucky, I didn't have to have a drain. Hope you heal quickly!
  14. Nothing greasy... No white breads, white rice or pasta & sugar... According to my nutritionist.
  15. My doctor used dissolving stitches inside & some kind of surgical glue for the outer layer. :biggrin2:
  16. Surprisingly the only thing that upsets my sleeve is scrambled eggs. Dr thought that was odd since it's one of the first foods we can eat! I have never thrown up from anything...
  17. Are you walking a lot? That helped me. And does your dr have you on an antacid? Mine has me on Prevacid. I take it in the morning & I have had no nausea at all! Good luck & I hope you feel better soon.
  18. I was told the same thing as dorrie... Best thing for me is to get up & move around... if I ate to fast or somethings not agreeing with me! And drinking pushes the food through your system to fast & you won't get the nutrients your body needs! Good luck & eat slow tiny, bites...
  19. I think, I just might have to try this!
  20. Wow... I hope you feel better soon!
  21. I use cocoa butter. Found it in stick form. Dr says that's good & vitamin E oil is good too!
  22. I am 5'4" & I was 249.4lbs (let's just say 250lbs) I am now 202lbs. And I am 52 years old. My surgery was Oct.26,2011. I feel great...Everyone loses at different rates. My surgeon. says I'm doing great! I just went to family dr. & he lowered my thyroid meds & diabetic meds. All's good!
