  1. Hi all....this is my first time posting. I got my surgery date on Friday (it is May 14) and I have been excited and scared all weekend. I did not have to diet prior so now it is hitting me in the face......wow, this is real! I have bought all the items needed for my 2 week liquids. I think it is just a mental game for me to get into the groove, but it will definitely be hard!

I found out Friday that May 14th is my surgery date too! I did the shopping thing too this weekend. I went back to Weight Watchers 4 weeks ago because I really have a hard time the first two weeks of a diet. I call it my detox. I am on the first day of the pre-op diet and this will take some getting used to. Remember we are all here to support you for the "mental game."

  2. Hello!

Tomorrow is the day for me... the day that I saw as so far in the distance when the thought of getting a lap band first came into my mind. I'm nervous.. excited... a little bit afraid to fail, but I also have confidence that I'm going to be able to do it. This will be my first surgery, so not sure what to expect.

I've been on liquids now for a week and today I'm sipping on broth all day...... Oh how I long for a salad...lol

Best of luck to you! Be sure to post all about it!

  3. So my surgery date is tommorrow, surgery is not scheduled until 2:15pm. I'm a little nervous about tommorrow, but I know that God has it all in control, and the desired outcome will be worth it. I've been on the liquid diet since last Thursday, started Clear Liquids yesterday (a day early), just to see if I could handle it. As such I am a little hungry but it is manageable. I'm glad I discovered the LBT chat forums, I have so many questions, and you guys seem to answer many of them from personal experiences. I will keep you posted.

    Best Wishes!

Best of luck to you! Be sure to post all the details!

  4. I start my week of liquids wen. I have bought my protien shakes and I can have some juice, I also got tons of sugar free popsicles as well as sugar free Jello. I also bought a ton of low sodium progresso Soups so i can drain the broth of them. I am ready to tackle this.

Great idea about the Progresso soups. I have also read that you can make your own with lots of vegetables and some chicken bullion and drain that too.

  5. I took 2 weeks off and that was more than enough, although 4 days wouldn't have been enough for me. Took all i could and enjoyed the time off where i felt fine and could get myself organized for things that I didn't think of

Would you share some of the things you didn't think of post-op and what things did you do to help you feel organized afterwards?

  6. I just came from my pre op clearance I lost 15 pounds doing this pre op diet. I'm not even hungry anymore I have learned to space my Optifast shakes and sugar free Jello to the point I really am not hungry. I pray that I can keep this up once I am banded this Wednesday. I also learned that I was eating because it was time to eat not because I was hungry. I am happy and think this is the start of a very good future :)
