  1. Heres the backdrop. Started at my highest 550lbs start of liquid diet may 1 i was 518lbs surgery date may 21 479lbs and today After not being able to weigh myself for 3 weeks (420 at the time, 05-18 )im now at 395. Im a very pessimistic guy when it comes to positive things happening to me and evn though i lost more than 100 lbs in a short time i still thought it just wouldnt work. But im believing now and eating healthier than ever lately, i havent started excercising yet but im starting to get some enrgy and im getting an itch too to get my weight loss on a fast track to 299. I just wanted to share !!!
  2. So dr. Joya said because of my weight that i might need a 2nd vsg down the road a year or so to lose the leftover weight. Has anyone gone through this? The way i factor it is ill be down to about 300 lbs from 479 after a year im 3 months post op and down to 420 lbs right now im losing about 4 lbs a week so in a year ill b at around 300 is how i figured it and i know the first year is when u lose what your destined to lose.. So yea i think ill try and save to get the 2nd surgery in 9 months to go from 300 to 220-250 then skin removal to 200 or so...so anyone have a similar experience?
  3. Its been green for at least a week now is it because im drinking when i eat?
  4. Oh also before the probiotics i had to go multiple times a day and they were rush type emergencies almost as if i had irritable bowel syndrome
  5. So since i started my preop liquid diet on may 1st and up to 2 weeks ago i had constant diarhea and went 3-5 times a day. I went on here and someone suggested probiotics, which i did. Theres a good and bad with it i love how now im going a normal 1-2 times a day and my stool is not diarhea but its not solid either and its also half brown half green almost every time in the last 2 weeks. I am using 10 billion probiotics should i have gone with 25 or 50 billion? Should i try something else?
  6. I really dont drink shakes at all anymore and dont drink much milk , ill check into probiotics
  7. Ever since i started my preop diet of liquids ive had diarhea non stop. So since may 1st i havent had a solid doodoo, i also noticed sometimes, and this might be gross but the consistency is that of like mucus. I looked up symptoms and i guess it could be irritable bowel syndrome? I thought once i was on solid food id be ok but nope a couple weeks into solids and still diarhea...cant be from surgery i dont think? Since i had these symptoms just before surgery is it a coincidence or whats the cause and how should i fix it? Ty ahead of time
  8. How can i eat so much i could of ate the whole fish and prob all the potatos.........i can eat twice as. Uch as you. I dont get it either others say they eat 600-900 calories where i can eat on average 1000-1500 still better than what i use to eat but come on...
  9. Im craving flavored water , just wanted to know if its safe and if not how far out do i need to be
  10. Wow look at you my nuked breakfast and your gourmet hors d'oeuvre ...looked up nutritional info on the tobiko and it's pretty high in cholesterol but great on everything else ...since cholesterol is the one thing that reads high on my tests I'm trying to be strict on it
  11. Throw some bananas or fruit and ice in a blender for a icy smoothie....yogurt maybe? Thinking of quick non carb breakfast also I just posted a thread bout what I eat and I have egg whites and morning star sausage ...it's 45 seconds in microwave and 40 cals per link
  12. O for breakfast I go with 1 link of morning star link sausages and 1 serving (46g) of egg whites ...all for 65 calories and tasty too ..any body have any super low cal but tasty lunch or dinner ideas?
  13. My surgeon only talked to me for five min total and nut for 15 min signing waivers and 2 min post op basically handing me hard to understand but I didn't really need detailed instruction because I get the gist I feel I'll b good here on because the solids r taking care of my constant eating and easier to get in protein as I hate protein shakes and had a struggle getting any protein in .....maybe that contributed to me not losing as fast as I was hoping?
  14. Btw is there something wrong with me but people say sip water but I have no problem drinking normal gulps like I did preop ...what gives?
  15. I think that might b my problem I know I'm supposed to pack in protein and I have the last few days when I was on mushy stage for 4 weeks I had eaten pimento cheese and potted meat in those little cans I'm six weeks out btw and I now can eat anything except steak on mushy stage it seemed like I was always hungry and eating now the last few days with solids I don't eat as much and have been around 500-800 calories so maybe it's looking up ....I hope
  16. K so heres the deal I have on 3 different occasions in the last six months lost a big chunk of weight rapidly but now I'm stalling I started at 550 lbs went to495 in 2 months through just working out in 2 months got laid off from my job and decided to get vsg (workouts stopped) so knowing I had a preop diet coming up I pigged out to 518 from 518 to 479 in 3 week preop diet so 479 on may 21 surg date and a week later down to 461 now I'm 6 weeks out and I'm 443 so 18 lbs in 5 weeks since my 461 I'm afraid because I'm not losing chunks of weight and also for like a week straight I'll be the same weight then all of a sudden I lose 5 lbs I also question my caloric intake I average between 1200-1500 calories a day isn't this too much for a recent vsg patient?
  17. Thanks im fitting better and better into my little civic hatch (imagine that a 500 lb guy in a little civic hatchback)
  18. I started at 547 lbs back in like march me and my brother worked out and i lost 50 lbs in 2 months to 497. I ended up falling off the wagon and started gaining back weight and was at 510 lbs before i started booking surgery. I had a pre op liquid diet set for april 30th so from mid april to end of april i gained 8lbs to 518 knowing i had the surgery coming up. So from April 30th to May 29th i went from 518 lbs to today im at 465. Ive followed my liquid diet real well with the only solid thing ive eaten was a half granola bar and a single combo (pretzel combos). I know that kind of weight loss wont continue as time goes on but i still wanted to share. I went from 4-5k calories a day to 500-1000.
  19. so to celebrate our last day we went to an italian restaurant and i had lobster bisque soup 1 bowl...afterwards i stood up and i almost passed out i got real dizzy till i sat back down..i got enough liquids in me from earlier in the day and from a search on this forum i cant find why i was dizzy is it because the soup itself is not liquid enough and too thick? also when i did sit down i felt better except i started sweating for a few minutes
  20. I as well was sleeved on Monday the 21st ...I also get that hunger problem water helps a lil but yogurt and "food" help longer
