I Can't Do This I Need Support
Very interesting about the liver. I think that explains something for me. My doc had me do no pre op except no water past mid night. I have a fatty liver and after surgery my right side was extremely bruised and swollen. It's still some what swollen. I asked about it because it puts me quite lop sided. He said it was from a contusion and my liver was so enlarged he took a biopsy. So maybe I had so much bleeding swelling and bruising due to the lack of pre op dieting. Hmmmmm. Though I did watch carefully what I ate pre op. just thinking things through. And by the way. I'm very impressed by the caring, supportive, and thoughtfulness of everyone who posts. Nobody knows anyone yet everyone is so helpful. . Thanks

Wow. Thanks everyone. I'm almost 6 weeks out. I've done well, I think. I have lost 18-20 lbs and about 3 inches almost everywhere. I seem to be In a holding spot teetering 177-179 for over a week now. I see To be able to eat too much. Well it seems to much because I'm full and often am nervous about busting open my stomach/stitches. I eat too fast too though I have not gotten sick. Very uncomfortable. I think I'm eating slow. Well i am compared to what I used to. I have this other problem. If someone could help???? It's a bit embarrassing, but i am constipated really bad. I've been taking 2 dulcolax moved it to 3 tonight. And eating 2-3 prunes. I had veggies last night and today. And I ate some spinach instead of lettuce in my salad. Hmmmmm any ideas? I think I'm not getting enough water maybe 40 oz- Over Eat?
If you over eat do you automatically stretch your stomach? And how do you know you have a leak?- Week 3!
Hi I'm going on week 3 as well (4/11). I'm eating more really haven't lost any either in the past few days. I'm worried cause my dr has said to listen to my body, get protein and water in, but eat what I can. Stay away from veggies and salad for a few more weeks. He says eat things close to the ground. I'm eating regular food. Not much, but chicken, tuna, etc. I hope I'm doing ok because I read alot where people seem to be on full liquids for weeks and weeks. I do not want to stretch my stomach. Nonetheless hang in there. Do what the dr says and I'm sure it will come off.....- Omg! Diabetes Results!

- My Journey Of The Gastric Sleeve Surgery
My name is Swilke - I am 5 ft. 196 lbs. I have been diagnosed with diabetes, liver disease, high blood pressure, hypothyroidism, high cholesterol and have a BMI 38.9. What a mess. I have of course been thinking of doing the lab band since it was first advertised, because who doesn't want to be thin. I said I wanted it, but really never qualified you had to be 100 lbs overweight etc. As the years have past, I began having medical issues the biggest being my liver disesase - they say it is caused by being overweight. My dr. put me on all kinds of diets but they all failed and ended in me gaining all the lost weight plus more. In December, my dr. asked me about doing the lap band and I agreed. We went through all of the paper work, and April 11, 2012 was my surgery date. In Delano, with Dr. K. I am 4 days out. I feel pretty good. I am concerned about not eating enough or being healthy. I am taking a liquid multivitamin, 5000 vit d, vit B12, and Bioten. I have chewable calcium pills. My immediate family has been pretty supportive. My teenage kids have helped me and encouraged me. They have me in bed most of the time. I sneak up and do a load of laundry here and there, straighten up a bit, etc. I figure as long as I feel good then I can do it. I look forward to this journey and hope that I can stay educated and knowledgable about how to keep me nourished and well. I am looking forward to meeting people that are going through the same experiences and be able to encourage oneanother.- A Little Unclear
My Dr. told me to let my body tell me what to do next. start on clear liquid, then move on. I am 4 days out I have had cream of wheat, cream of chicken. I am a newby, I don't know if this is or isn't good for me, I can tell you I am eating slow and and have NOT thrown upTrending Products
