  1. Thanks for the tips. I'm feeling discouraged too. I've only lost 17lbs since having lapband w/plication on May8th. But I too have not been good about getting all my calories in and I've been off my food plan too. To make things worse I'm traveling for work next week (1st time since I had surgery). Thinking about going on a 5-day juice fast to reboot my system when I get back. Any thoughts???
  2. Hey Sandrie, I got my band on May 8th. Also had the plication. I thought it would be a while before I got a fill but my weight loss had stalled and I was starting to get hungry pretty quick. He added about 1cc for a total of 2cc's in my 10cc band. The process was easy and painless. Congrats on getting down 29lbs. I've only lost 17lbs, but I'm hoping this fill will help. Finger's crossed
  3. You probably already know this, but you should check your temp whenever you've had surgery. I too thought I was having headaches because of the lack of caffeine. As it turns out I was actualy running a low grade fever a couple of days after surgery. My largest incision started looking really ugly. Red, swollen& warm to the touch. I ended up on antibiotics the next day. Make sure you take your temp.
  4. I had the same pain. Are you still using the spirometer? It really seemed to help, but time will be the biggest help.
  5. I had the Lapband with plication on May 8th. A thought crossed my mind that I didn't ask about before I was banded. Will still be able to ride the awesome six flags rides or that fun something of the past?
  6. I'm 3 days post op with the iband (Lapband w/imbrication) and I'm having the same type of pain. It's been worst part of the whole experience so far. Please let us know what your Dr. says. I have a follow up next Thursday, I'll let you know what he says. Almost forgot I had a hiatal hernia repair too.
  7. I really like the EAS Carb Control shakes both vanilla and chocolate are great! They have 17 gm of protein. Sold at Sam's in a 24 pk case for abou $27 in my area. Also the Myoplex Lite are really good. They have 20gm of protein! A little more expensive, the case only as 18pks also at Sam's.
  8. Suzanne, Did you get the iband? I'm scheduled with Dr. Wilkenfeld on May 8th. So excited I can't stay off the message boards :-))
  9. So glad you've had good results. My surgery is scheduled with Dr. Wilkenfeld on May 8th. How did you do on the pre op diet?
  10. I was a little nervous too...but there was nothing to it. The last thing I remember before being put under is putting the teeth guard in my mouth and laying down. When I woke up my throat was a little scratchy but otherwise fine. You'll do great, don't worry too much.
  11. Ready2, I'm tickled pink to find your success story. I am the exact height and weight as you pre-band. I'm praying for the same results. Just wondering, now that you are a few years post op how do you feel about your long term success? Is being banded after losing the weight hard? Are you still getting fills? Current weight 230 BMI 35 : Goal weight 150 BMI 24
  12. I'm worried at not having energy with only Clear Liquids post op. Anyone suffer from fatigue? My plan is to have surgery on Tues May8th and go back to work he following week. I have an office job but I'm thinking I might have trouble carrying my laptop bag across the parking lot (about the size of a football field) then through the plant (another football field) to my office? Any thoughts?
  13. My surgeon, Dr. Richard Wilkenfeld in Conroe (suburb of Houston) was trained by Dr. Smith. I'm scheduled for May 8th. So far I love his office staff. His wife is a RN and does a pre-op class great. She even gives her cell number for emergencies. Im nervous but really impressed with them. I'll keep everyone up to date on my post op.
